California Grill question

The '04 Unofficial Guide says that at CG, you can sit at a counter as opposed to a table. I assume this to mean that the kitchen is open and you'd be sitting at a "food bar", watching the action in the kitchen as you are eating.

Has anyone done this? Can I request seating at the counter when I make my PS for CG??

I don't know about requesting a PS at the "bar" but I have walked in several times without any PS's and they asked if I would like to sit at the "bar". A couple of times I was seated at the "real" bar and a couple of times I was seated at the " bar" overlooking the open kitchen. The bar at the open kitchen is very entertaining.

Not sure the person taking your PS will be able to arrange the counter seating. But when you arrive,if you ask at the front podium, I'm sure they will accomodate you!!
And yes--its a counter area facing the open kitchen. There is a counter at the "bar" also, but I don't think that's what you have in mind(?)

Hi.

The restaurant is so open that the show kitchen can be seen from many of the tables. The chairs and booths are very comfortable. The counter wraps around the kitchen and will put you in the center of the action if that's what interests you.

I NOTICED YOU FOLKS ARE VERY BIG FANS OF CAL. GRILL. I AM HOPING YOU CAN ANSWER SOME QUESTIONS THAT I HAVE.

WE WILL BE ARRIVING NEXT MONDAY MORNING AND WE HAVE A PS FOR 6:20PM. MY FIRST QUESTION IS, HOW EARLY SHOULD WE ARRIVE FOR OUR PS? ALSO, I WOULD LIKE A WINDOW SEAT. DO I REQUEST THAT UPON ARRIVING AT THE REST.? LAST BUT NOT LEAST, IS THERE A DRESS CODE?
