I had PF for a long, long time. I suffered way longer than I should have -- for about 9 months. I would never put off treatment again. Here is my advice: 1) go to a podiatrist (I went to my family doc -- he took an x-ray, told me I have a heel spur and gave me a cortisone shot in my foot -- I would rather have a baby without an epidural again. My podiatrist said he would have never done that. 2) Get orthotics. I got mine from a physical therapist. The physical therapist helped with my PF but it might have been because a cute 20 something guy was rubbing my feet -- that might not impress your DH . . .
3) Don't be afraid to get help because you are overweight. You deserve to be able to walk without pain. I wear really good shoes now because walking without pain is priceless.
My DH is overweight, too, and he has really gotten into the Alton Brown diet plan. It is a very sensible plan, DH has lost 10 pounds in about the last 30 days. He also had to get a CPAP machine (we both sleep better now). It is hard to watch them struggle but I have to admit that I would not have wanted someone to tell me what to do when I was doing nothing to stop my downward spiral, so I keep my mouth shut -- even when it is really hard.![]()
I think that you are doing great with your C25K and weight loss!![]()
This week was the 1st week that I managed 3 work-outs. Usually I only do one or 2 per week. Since we're were powerless and staying at my MIL's house, I was able to use her treadmill. I feel SO much different for having done all 3 work-outs!!! Yesterday I did w5d2 and the 8 min runs were ok. Usually I'd be struggling.
Luckily my MIL is lending me her treadmill until after the half-marathon! My DH is at her house right now getting it....

My garmin forerunner 305 came today and I can't even try it out, waaaaaaaah.
OK sorry I get a wee whiny when I am sick.![]()
I did W5D3! That's a 20 minute run! I can't believe I can run for 20 minutes, 6 weeks ago I could barely do 1 minute. I just love how gradual this program is, and I trust it so much that today I was thinking "I've been able to do the program so far, so of course I can make it! They wouldn't have put in a 20 minute run if I wasn't able to do it!".
Today I caught up with a few people I know and they said "how are you?" and I replied with "I ran for 20 minutes this morning"! I'm pretty excited about it![]()

I did it!! I did W4D1 today, and it wasn't as bad as friday's w3D3. I really tried to stay focused and ignore everyone around me when I was jogging. I think friday, I tried to speed up to pass people when I was jogging, and that was too much for me. I really concentrated on keeping my breathing easy, and the 5 minutes went by quickly. I'm so excited again. It's amazing how one day can be discouraging, but the next time out, I actually believe I will complete this. You can do it! It's amazing how each "little" step is huge in our minds, and sometimes to our bodies.but the feeling of accomplishment is incredible!

Just completed W6D2 for the 2nd time. And I just realized that this was my last interval run. Fromt his point forward, each day of the program is at least a 25 minute run.![]()

You can do it. I still have those up days and down days. I think it must come with the territory. I have yet to run 30 min straight since I graduated the program. I like doing 20 min 5 min walk 10 min. It is nice that I am running the program now.![]()
