We are looking to rent points for BWV for Jan 2002. I noticed on the Disney site that when they mention staying at the BWV that daily housekeeping services are not included for DVC members. What is the daily charge for these services?

hi: if you rent or stay on points, you'll get "trash and towel" service on the 4th day of your stay. they'll replace the towels and empty the trash. you'll get a full cleaning on your 8th day. if you are staying in a 1br or larger unit, you'll have your own washer and dryer right in the unit as well as a vacuum cleaner. if you want daily housekeeping, i believe the charge is $25 per day for a studio and more for the larger units. we usually stay in a 1 or 2 br unit and haven't missed housekeeping at all.

Jeff,

Housekeeping is every third day, I think, when you stay as a DVC member. You can get it every day but I can't remember what the cost of that is.

Actually, you get a trash and tidy (meaning empty the trash and deliver new towels...) on the 4th day when you stay is less than 8 nights. On longer stays you get a full cleaning every 8 days. Example: we have reservations for 11/27 - 12/9..confirmation indicates full cleaning on 12/1 and trash/towel on 12/5. To purchase additional full housekeeping, I believe the charge is $30 for 1 bedroom and $40 for a 2 bedroom. I think the studio is $25..but I'm not certain.

The unit will have vac, brooms etc. available for your use should you get the urge to clean up inbetween housekeeping! We've never found it to be an inconvenience not having daily housekeeping...in fact, we kind of like knowing housekeeping isn't coming into our room on a daily basis.

This is also what our confirmation says, but we thought the trash/tidy comes BEFORE the full cleaning??

My understanding (confirmed by my stays at BWV) is that you get some type of service every 4th day. You start with a full cleaning on the 4th day, trash and towel on the 8th day, full on the 12th day, etc.

What everyone here has posted is correct, but I did want to let you know that you get a "pack" of towels which consists of four towels, wash cloths, etc. YOu can purchase another "pack" of towels for $6. The cleaning for a one bedroom is $35, I think, and that is for one day. If you require cleaning every day for an 8 day stay, it can get pretty expensive!

So, if you are staying on points, you cannot call down to housekeeping for more towels without being charged $6? Is this correct? Also, are there towels at the pools that can be used free of charge? Thanks, Jo

For stay of 8 days or more, there is a full clean on day 4 (counting the day you check-in). 4 days later there is a trash/tidy and alternate services every 4 days for longer stays.

Towels are provided at the pool for use there.

Many guests will simply toss the towels in the washer as they leave for the parks and dry them later. Even studio guests have the use of a free washer/dryer.

Enjoy!

Jo-Anne if you are staying on rented points you are, in effect, staying as if the member were also in the unit. There are towels at the pool for use at the pool. Additional towels from housekeeping for the room are subject to the $6 per pack charge. You would also be surprised how little you miss housekeeping every day. However, you might want to inquire directly from Disney whether they have any discounts available for January. If you rent directly from them you will be treated the same as at any other WDW hotel.

CarolynK -- They changed the housekeeping schedule for longer stays a few years ago. I think a lot of people who stay for the 8 days or longer don't stay for 12-16 days but maybe closer to 10 days. It made more sense to give the full cleaning somewhere towards the "middle" of the stay rather than the the day or two before the people checked out.

Last trip, we stayed in a studio with no washer or dryer handy in the unit, so we added a trash and towel service (at $6) during our stay. You can make the request when you check in. I also moved the scheduled T&T service to space things out better (we used days 3 and 5 for a 6-night stay). With this scheduling, we didn't run out of clean towels, didn't have to wash any, and the extra cost was only $6. For this length of stay, we do not miss having maid service at all (well, maybe my DW does, since she makes the bed; but I do keep the kitchenette area clean and wash the glasses and plastic tableware we bring along and we're both pretty good at keeping the bathroom and vanity areas clean, just like at home). There was a vacuum cleaner in the closet of the studio, but we never touched it except accidentally when getting to clothes hanging in the closet.

Current price per day for full daily maid service is $25/$30/$40/$50 for a studio/1BR/2BR/GV. You can order it when you check-in and you can get it for any one or more days that you are there.

Thanks for the info. I"ll be staying in a studio. Can someone tell me where the "free washer/dryer" is that I could use? Thanks, Jo
