I posted this question on the Resorts board and they told me to ask over here. I didn't even think about it!

Any help would be great!

Origingal post:
My DH's parents have a 2 week per year time share in Hawaii through Interval International. They are not planning a trip this year, so they gave the exchange to us to use at WDW. (Very Nice!!) So, we booked a week at the BWV. I thought I was booking a 1 bedroom (because it said on the web site that it sleeps 4) but when the confirmation came in it was for a studio. (My in-laws time share is a 1 bedroom) I could have booked a 1 bedroom villa if I had only known, but there was no way to back out of it by the time we got the confirmation in the mail. (I did try to call Interval, but they said I had to go through Disney once the ressie was made). I have called Disney, but they sound pretty much confused about my predicament, (I probably didn't explain it too well) and keep telling me to call a different number.

Is there a possibility we can change that ressie once we get there? I have also read that faxing isn't the way they want to handle such questions. We have 2 DD's ages 17 & 19, and I thought this might be a little too close for comfort. If we can't, we will certainly make do! This a pretty much a free room for us (we just had to pay a few fees), so I don't want to sound like I am complaining! Just wondering.... We have stayed in Value, Moderate and Deluxe at WDW in the past, but never a villa. So this is a first!

Also, I read that if you are a vacation club member you only get maid service once a week. I was wondering where we fit in? I was going to get my mousekeeping cards ready, but am not sure what type of service we should prepare for!

And finally! How much do the midway games cost on the Boardwalk? I think we would get a kick out of playing those one night!

Thanks for any and all advice on BWV you can give!

I'm sorry I cant offer much advice about the predicament besides talking to II as mentioned however I do think it will be a tad too tight for you and 2 teenagers..

Sorry that happened. I think you'll like the resort and the studios are more comfortable than a hotel room, IMHO.

No, I don't think so. I believe once an exchange is confirmed, it's pretty much a "done deal." The DVC resorts do not do upgrades unless they can't honor the original reservation for some reason (like an unforeseen maintenance issue).

The studio will be larger than the rooms in the value and moderate hotel. It's probably comparable to a deluxe room, but it will "feel larger" (at least it does to me).

You'll have a queen size bed and a double sleep sofa in the studio. The bathroom sink will be outside the shower/toilet area.

The kitchenette will have a sink, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and under counter (similar to dorm size) refrigerator. You will also have ceramic coffee mugs and paper bowls & plates, plastic ware and drinking glasses. There will be a vacuum cleaner and small safe in the closet. You will get 1 packet of regular coffee and 1 of decaf.

Also, I read that if you are a vacation club member you only get maid service once a week. I was wondering where we fit in? I was going to get my mousekeeping cards ready, but am not sure what type of service we should prepare for!
On the 4th day of your stay (count check in as day 1) you will receive "Trash & Towel" service. Housekeeping will empty your trash, exchange your towels for a fresh set and replenish your coffee packets. That's about it. We don't tip for that service, although some do. If you want an extra set of towels (with 2 teen-aged girls, it wouldn't be a surprise if you did, LOL), you can get an extra set (4 bath, 4 hand, 4 wash clothes and a bath mat) for $6. If you want extra/more housekeeping services, you can request those as well. A full cleaning for a studio is $25 for each day you request the service and an extra Trash & Towel service is $10 per time requested.
And finally! How much do the midway games cost on the Boardwalk? I think we would get a kick out of playing those one night!

Can't help with that - just don't recall. Enjoy your trip and feel free to ask any additional questions as you think of them.

Best wishes -

Can't say much to your trade-out issue, I would suspect DVC could exchange you into something else (depending on availablity), it might shorten the stay or require cash.
As far as the midway games, they run between $3-5 a pop, depending on how many balls, lobsters, etc you want. Sounds expensive, my nephews love it, but they tire quickly, so we usually don't spend a ton.

Thank you SO much CarolMN! You were very helpful.

We are very excited about getting to stay at BWV, even if it is in a studio, I think we will fit. One DD is only 5 feet tall, and pretty tiny. The other isn't a big person either, so I think we will be ok in that size room. We don't plan on spending too much time inside anyway.

We have stayed at the BC before, so it will be nice to be so close to all the action. I think DD's will like that.

Thanks again! I really appreciate all of your help and information.

I don't really have an answer to all your questions, but I definately would NOT wait to check in to resolve this! And I can't understand why Interval won't help you - wasn't it their website that you were using? I think you might try to convince them that the description on the website wasn't adequate and get them to cancel so you can rebook another. There are always workarounds - sometimes you just have to go higher up the corporate ladder to get to them.

And did you try the second number that Disney gave you? You only mention calling the number at Disney that II gave you.

Good luck - do this right away!

Thanks for all the help everyone!

To kathleena:
Yes, we did call all the numbers Disney gave us but, I think you are right, this should have been done through Interval (I did use their web site for the exchange)....When I asked them though, they told me that the ressies are only with Disney now. So, I think I am pretty much stuck. I am going to take your advice though and try again. All they can do is say no! And, at the end of the day we will still have a studio. I don't want to be too worried about it. We will be at WDW anyway!

I am really thinking of joining the DVC. I want to talk to them while we are there. My DH isn't as enthusiastic about joining as me though, so I was really hoping to win him over with the one bedroom villa!
