The Widow & the Spinster Take a Bougie WBTA Cruise That Didn't Suck! - Lookout Cay, a One and Done 3/31

There are usually four different menus that they serve on the 3-4 day cruises. Each MDR has it's own menu + Pirate night. When you get into the 7 day and longer cruises, they have additional menus. Since this cruise was 13 nights, they pull out just about every menu they have to offer. Also when you sail on say, 4th of July, they have a special menu for that. Did that on the Alaska cruise.
Huh! Now I know!
The costumes are quite detailed and spectacular!
I'll say so! Very pretty.
Yeah, but the booze had a bit more of a punch!
Of that I'm sure!
This morning I woke up at midnight, again at 3AM, slept on and off til 4AM and finally went back to sleep until 6AM.
Story of my life. Every. Single. Night.
So we made the tough decision to do a double dip into Palo on this day.
You make it sound like a bad thing. LOL!
That's what I'm getting for sure next time. It looks like it will be in the next six weeks or so!
And just like that, there goes "no more travel for a while...". ;)

Time changes kicking your ****?
Despite the creepy nature of this picture, nothing hinky was going on between us!

 I laughed out loud at this one hehe
Of course they served us bread.

Tasty selection looks like!

this looks very tasty indeed, and a nice size
Wow most of those sound really good to me, other than the panna cotta, they aren't my fav...I think I would have ordered the first dessert
I had the Limoncello Torte. It was made from Almond Flour, gluten free and delicious! I would not even have known if I hadn't asked.

3118f544-7886-42a6-8ab9-4b406ffcb9b3.jpg
Wow this looks super tasty indeed, I really like tart lemon things- was this fairy zing-y?

Ah! Thanks.
Not sure if I'd get one or not... I tend to just use a plastic bag.
But it sure looks a lot more handy!
I really like it, and unlike a plastic bag, it stands up!
And good for you! Seriously.
Got to watch my girlish figure! 💃
Ah yes.
I make the same threat... with the same follow through!
I think a lot of people do.....
Makes sense... the ships are all "she's" anyway!
::yes::
Ugh. I hate when that happens.
And it has continued since I returned as well. :headache:
So you both were struggling. :(
Lots of time changes.
But I do see the date! Halloween tomorrow!
Yes, and you will see some Halloween finery soon!
Neat that you can see where all the ships are.
I know! That's pretty cool!
 Jill knows what you like. :)
:lmao:
Not creepy at all. I like that picture. :)
Well, good!
Because Halloween, I'm betting.
No they actually showed it in the Main Theater as well. I don't remember what we were doing that night. Probably Remy or Palo.
Interesting shape... I assume it was baked in pieces and assembled? I can't tell for sure.
No clue.
That does sound good, though.
Yes, just a lot of food.
I rarely (if ever) order pancakes. I don't mind them, but there are usually other things that I prefer.
These were really good. And I love pancakes.
It sure looks decadent! :faint:
(And delicious)
I'm sooooo ordering this in May!
Does look big. Sounds good, though.
Needs to be split by a couple people.
Nice shot of you both. Really like Jill's top.
Thanks!
Oh, boy... I think just about everything sounds good. But... I know I'd almost certainly choose...
...this!
Lemony goodness! I think I will have this one again!
Sounds like Heaven. :)
::yes:: I wish the Wonder had a similar Rainforest room. They don't have a hot tub in theirs.

Huh! Now I know!
Yeah, after having been on about a dozen Disney Cruises, I feel like I know the regular MDR menus.
I'll say so! Very pretty.
::yes::
Of that I'm sure!
Yeah, I won't be repeating that mistake!
Story of my life. Every. Single. Night.
I'm hoping that it will start to go away soon.
You make it sound like a bad thing. LOL!
Sarcasm doesn't come across well on the boards sometimes.
And just like that, there goes "no more travel for a while...". ;)
You forgot the word "major" in there. I said "No more major travel for a while."

Time changes kicking your ****?
I want to say "yes", but it still is and I've been back for months now.
 I laughed out loud at this one hehe
I swear! Nothing was going on between us! :lmao:
Tasty selection looks like!
Yes! And it will be ours in just a few weeks!
this looks very tasty indeed, and a nice size
Yeah, it's a pretty big helping. I sure hope that someone can help me out with it on Brunch day.
Wow most of those sound really good to me, other than the panna cotta, they aren't my fav...I think I would have ordered the first dessert
It was a tough choice!
Wow this looks super tasty indeed, I really like tart lemon things- was this fairy zing-y?
It wasn't tart at all, kind of sweet, but still with a nice lemon flavor.

We had just finished Palo Brunch and paid a visit to the Rainforest room. After I got showered up, I went down and took some pictures with the characters in their Halloween Costumes. First was Mickey.

I got tired of waiting in lines and came back to the room. Jill had the Food Network on the TV, and we just sat around playing games on our phones/tablets until it was time to get dressed and head back up to Palo for dinner. We were again served the Amuse Bouche of the mushroom soup with the fried gnocchi dumpling. So good!

We split an order of the Tomato Burrata salad. I let Jill have half the Cheese and she let me have all the tomatoes. Viktor brought her some more cheese like we had on the antipasto plate this morning when he realized she didn't like the tomatoes.

She had the Butternut Squash Agnolotti for her main. She liked it a lot, but the portion was just huge.

First was Mickey.
Fun shots with the mice. :)
Love this one!

Yeah, it looks deceivingly small.
I’ve had that. Fun to watch. :)

Both of you ladies look very nice. :)
Thank you.
Shocked! I’m shocked!

;)
You should be! :lmao:
I agree with Jill. Bat.

Sounds reasonable to me!

Day 16

I think I slept the whole night until around 6AM. Here’s our progress on the TV monitor.

0acebda3-e7ee-4098-b7ba-829390ab9f3a.jpg

Jill's alarm went off at 7AM. It was a tough decision as to whether I wanted to stay in the comfy bed or go up to the Rainforest Room. I decided to go with Jill and was there at 7:55 while she had a seaweed massage. I guess this is when you need to be there to guarantee a lounger, they were all empty.

dd8f9c71-0e09-4c90-a09b-4a81e91b7ddf.jpg

After about 40 minutes between the tub and lounger, I went back to the room to shower off the chlorine via the Vista Cafe. It rained a little while I was in the Rainforest Room and when I got back to the cabin there was a rainbow outside.

723e4849-88ba-4eb8-adf1-63254a5fbf7d.jpg

Then I went up for Breakfast at Cabanas.

29d33c84-f070-4010-bea4-68234e715136.jpg

I walked around for a bit, but all the characters were getting ready for their big todo on the stairs. And all these people were waiting in line. See how the queue goes back and even extends along the wall? They went all the way past the Guest Services desk and into the shops.

c06d5fa6-0ae9-4753-91ba-13cfd1dd1dee.jpg

This is what they were waiting for.

72069924-2a18-4d26-a82d-4fb150bc2040.jpg

So I went back to the room and waited for Jill. I reconciled my bank accounts on my phone because I had some bills due on the 1st and I wouldn't have the money to pay them until some rents came in. Luckily one tenant paid early so I had some money!

Once Jill got back we dropped off the extra candy we hadn't given to CMs. They had a ton of candy for the trick or treat that our FB group organized. All that candy surrounding that lady was donated by people on our FB cruise group.

aff0ac80-4bae-4fc0-862c-9603ea45e3c1.jpg

Then we went to Shutters and recovered some pictures on the app that weren't showing up. For some reason they were lost in a no man's land of the pictures, but the nice lady there found them and assigned them to my account. They showed up within about an hour

Because our stateroom hostess was so lame at cleaning the room (it still hadn't been done by 10:30 or so when we left) we decided to go up to the Cove Cafe. Jill got a Chai Latte, and some pastries, sorry no pics. Chocolate croissant and rice krispie treat.

We went down around 11:30 to get in line to meet Cinderella. It was so cute she noticed that my shirt was covered with the pumpkins that her fairy godmother turned into a chariot for her to go to the ball. I love these character interactions!

Jill got a chicken salad.

8a115769-257a-4d46-b1ec-a3e8b1830ece.jpg

I got pappardelle with ragu. I love pappardelle and anytime I see it on a menu, I usually order it, unless I hate the sauce.

af94345f-c99f-4ace-b3f6-a958012cee62.jpg

Jill got the Banana Split and said it was pretty good.

0d3ae938-91a0-48fc-b7fe-1ce85aec75e1.jpg

I got the apple fritters which were meh. I ate the vanilla ice cream.

This is Belle. She is practically a celebrity, she has her own Facebook page. Ironically we met up with her owner in line at the Contemporary in the line for the Monorail. We told him that we were on the WBTA with him and Belle. I think Good Morning America even did a little piece on her.

af18176b-9349-4360-8bdc-12cfcf7ce38b.jpg

We played the Mickey version of Midship Detective. It was nearly identical to the Dalmatians with respect to the games you played to find the clues. You could do one or the other and be happy.

We caught the culprit on Deck 9 and conveniently went back to the room. We watched some TV for a bit, but we were sick of Food Network, creepy Haunted Travel Channel shows, and I was ready to kill myself before watching another Home Improvement show. So we pulled up The Rescuers. Boy have Disney films evolved.

The film finished just in time for us to go up to the Buena Vista Theater to see Wolverine & Deadpool. There was a lady there with a 3 or 4 year old child who luckily ended up leaving well before the movie started. I don't know what she was thinking, this movie seriously earned it's R rating.

It was great to watch the movie with other Disney fans. There was so much more laughter at all the funny parts than when I watched it at home in the theater.

We got out of the show just in time to run back to the room and then head down to dinner.

Jill had Prosciutto.

I had the lobster. This one was actually pretty overcooked and the server had a hard time getting it out of the shell. So she brought me another one which was much more tender and tasty, but I'd already started to dig into dinner and didn't want to get the phone out and start taking pictures again.

Chicken Ceasar and it was quite refreshing.
Jill got the Banana Split and said it was pretty good.

It was very good!
Belle was the best. We ran into her later in the cruise at night and her person let me pet her. She had a lot of outfits for the cruise!
We played the Mickey version of Midship Detective. It was nearly identical to the Dalmatians with respect to the games you played to find the clues. You could do one or the other and be happy.

If you have kids, the Mickey and the Dalmatians are the easiest. The Muppets is the most difficult in my opinion. All are fun though!

We watched some TV for a bit, but we were sick of Food Network, creepy Haunted Travel Channel shows, and I was ready to kill myself before watching another Home Improvement show. So we pulled up The Rescuers. Boy have Disney films evolved.
Yeah, the TV channels were very limited but a lot of Disney movies on demand! The nice thing is if you need to leave, you can pick up the movie or show later in the same place.
The film finished just in time for us to go up to the Buena Vista Theater to see Wolverine & Deadpool. There was a lady there with a 3 or 4 year old child who luckily ended up leaving well before the movie started. I don't know what she was thinking, this movie seriously earned it's R rating.
It was odd watching a rated R movie on a Disney ship but it was great! Lots of fans of the movie....We were all into it! Really glad the kid left!
Jill had Prosciutto.

Fancy bacon!
Jill got the Fettuccine with chicken and cheese sauce.

This was actually quite delicious.
We both got the molten chocolate cakes.

Can't go wrong with molten chocolate!

Another successful day at sea!

Thanks! It's one of my favorites too!
:goodvibes
It's something that lots of fine dining servers should be able to do.
Well, this guy can't do it!
I think I slept the whole night until around 6AM.
That's an improvement.
Here’s our progress on the TV monitor.
Getting closer. :)
It was a tough decision as to whether I wanted to stay in the comfy bed or go up to the Rainforest Room.
Heh. I can see that. But... I probably would've done the same as you did.
she had a seaweed massage
Freshly harvested?

;)
there was a rainbow outside.
The whole arc, too!
I walked around for a bit, but all the characters were getting ready for their big todo on the stairs. And all these people were waiting in line. See how the queue goes back and even extends along the wall? They went all the way past the Guest Services desk and into the shops.
Whoa!
Great shot!
All that candy surrounding that lady was donated by people on our FB cruise group.
Because our stateroom hostess was so lame at cleaning the room (it still hadn't been done by 10:30 or so when we left)
:sad2:
We went down around 11:30 to get in line to meet Cinderella. It was so cute she noticed that my shirt was covered with the pumpkins that her fairy godmother turned into a chariot for her to go to the ball. I love these character interactions!
:)
I'm not into character meets, as I think you know, but... I really do appreciate just how amazing they are.
I got pappardelle with ragu.
Excellent choice. :thumbsup2
Jill got the Banana Split and said it was pretty good.

So decadent! Yum!
This is Belle. She is practically a celebrity, she has her own Facebook page.
Really! Awww... :)
Like this shot. :)
We caught the culprit on Deck 9 and
threw him overboard????
conveniently went back to the room.
Oh. My version is more fun... or sinister.
I was ready to kill myself before watching another Home Improvement show.
:scared:
The film finished just in time for us to go up to the Buena Vista Theater to see Wolverine & Deadpool.
Oh! Not to self. I still haven't seen it. Need to.
There was a lady there with a 3 or 4 year old child who luckily ended up leaving well before the movie started. I don't know what she was thinking, this movie seriously earned it's R rating.
:sad2:
I had the lobster. This one was actually pretty overcooked and the server had a hard time getting it out of the shell. So she brought me another one which was much more tender and tasty,
Glad they replaced that for you.
We both got the molten chocolate cakes.
My 4th choice on that menu.
In no particular order (based on how I feel at that moment) Apricot trio, creme brulee, and apple pie.

That bed was comfy but you can't beat a seaweed massage or an empty Rainforest Room!
Truth.
So rare to see a full rainbow!
Especially at sea!
Loved all the Halloween costumes!
They were so cute!
There was a ton of candy...I'm sure the kids were super hyper! LOL
And before sailing, Disney said they weren't going to do anything for Halloween and then they did, so the kids got double the candy.
We also found a solution for a friend who missed the deadline to download her photos!
::yes::
It was all very yummy!
And we can enjoy all those treats in just over a month!
Cindy was delightful!
Yes, she was fun.
Chicken Ceasar and it was quite refreshing.
Glad you enjoyed your rabbit food.
It was very good!
Better than mine!
Belle was the best. We ran into her later in the cruise at night and her person let me pet her. She had a lot of outfits for the cruise!
She was definitely star on the cruise.
If you have kids, the Mickey and the Dalmatians are the easiest. The Muppets is the most difficult in my opinion. All are fun though!
Pro tip!

I love that part about Disney cruises!
It was odd watching a rated R movie on a Disney ship but it was great! Lots of fans of the movie....We were all into it! Really glad the kid left!
It was great watching with so many die hard fans!
Fancy bacon!
::yes::
This was actually quite delicious.
Good to know!
Can't go wrong with molten chocolate!
Certainly not!
Another successful day at sea!
And our last for almost a year.....
