BWV - in 11 days, any ideas I have not thought of?

We are going to be there through June 6 with wife, 5 year old daughter, 3 year old son in 1 BR pref view (not boardwalk view ). We are leaving the 1 yr old home with Nana, he is not going to be happy, he already loves Mickey but he is going with us again at OKW in Nov. We are doing the party and a character breakfast and wife is bringing daughter to the castle (or whatever they call it) for dinner. We have AP's so I'm excited to hit EPCOT at will being in walking distance Already ordered our food from gardengrocer and I do have to say it was easy online, so far so good. First time at BWV so feel free to give us ideas on what we can't miss, sorry no webcam and wife won't let me bring laptop (no work allowed ) - thanks in advance for any advice/tips.

Hey, We'll be there those exact days in a 1BR pref view. I can't offer any advice or tips as this will be our first DVC trip, but I'm hoping to gather some from your thread. Have fun!

If it makes you feel any better, next time I'm going to request a preferred room over a BWV. Don't get me wrong, it was a beautiful room, however, when the drunk party sitting at an outside table at Spoodles was WHOOO HOOOing it late at night ( after fireworks and getting back to our room, anyway) I was thinking to myself, "Never again, I'll request a view of the quiet pool..."

We had our second Boardwalk visit a couple of months ago - the kids will love the Boardwalk - bring some extra spending money though! (Candy store, bakery, games, surrey bikes, etc. ) We love walking over to MGM as well as Epcot, but it may be a little bit of a haul for the kids. If they have one, go to a Welcome Home Wednesday right there at Atlantic Dance -( sometimes they have good giveaways). Last visit we walked over to Epcot and had dinner on a EMH at MK night, then took the monorail to MK - if you can get the kids to nap early evening, the EMH at MK is great - by midnight we could walk on most rides, and the weather is sooo much more bearable at night in the late Spring/Summer. Have fun!!

I assume you took a bus to get back to the resort? What about on regular nights, can you take the monorail back to EPCOT prior to park closing and still walk through back to BWV or do they cut it off at a certain time?

What about the walk from BWV to BCV for breakfast at Cape May... about how long of a walk?

Good point on the EMH, we plan on doing the same philosophy for party - try to get them to go down for a nap around 3-4 for a few hours. Yes MGM is nice - kids liked playhouse Disney and with the new toy story ride/game and one of my favs........Muppet Show. I really miss the Muppet Show can't believe that is not on anymore my kids love the season 1 DVD we have of the show.

bbblanch - have a great trip, I asked to over look the pool, Tammymacb nice to hear I don't feel so bad about not getting a BW view as if I'm not the one being drunk and loud it annoys me . Maybe you will see us, we will be the ones yelling "James stop that, James don't do that, James stop hitting Santina, Santina stop your whinning, Santina stop hitting James, James no I'm not going to carry you and stop your crying........." I think you get the idea

Oh wow- now you've got me worried about my 3 nights with a bw view coming up in june. Am I am going to regret this? I hate being in a loud room and being kept up late. What time does the Boardwalk shut down at night?

Yes we took a bus back (about 2am) - I'm not sure about taking the monorail back on regular nights - it might not go to Epcot after it closes
The walk from BWC to BCV for breakfast isn't bad - maybe 10 minutes or 15 if you have little ones that are easily distracted.

We always enjoy getting coffee and breakfast at the bakery and sitting outside by the water. It's a very relaxing way to start the day. We just came back from BCV and hit beaches and cream almost every day. The sundaes there are worth the walk.

We love the Epcot area, there is so much to do! One of my favorite things to do is walking over to Epcot through the International Gateway! It is also so nice to have the quik exit after Illuminations!

If you will have the kids in a stroller you may enjoy the walk to the Studios too.....the boat is rather slow. You can also get off at the Swan & Dolphin and walk over the bridge, that will save you a LOT of time! Some things you may enjoy are Surrey Bike rides, games on the BoardWalk, the entertainers are great too! Enjoy your stay, I know you will!

Yeah we are bringing strollers, and I'm so pumped I love EPCOT (my favorite park) I just hope the parks are empty as school is not going to be out yet for a majority of people. I have never been to the boardwalk area, after peoples input I'm even more excited. I ask my son (will be turning 3 a few days after we get back) where are we going for your birthday......his response "Mickey's House" with complete excitement almost as if he is jumping right out of his skin.

We LOVE BW...have had Pref view & BW view....BW view really depends on where you are placed...it CAN be louder at night but not always. Some of the PV can be loud (late nights at swimming pool) IMHO.

We booked a sudden b'fast & walked over to Swan/Dolphin & ate at the Garden grove (?)....character b'fast w/goofy..it was really a good b'fast buffet (better than Chef Mickey's, quietier, cheaper & easier to get). I think b'fast is the only character meal though. We also really enjoy ESPN for lunch--get discount /not very crowded at that time/very filling meals.

We too have a 3 yr old & 6 yr old.

Wow...after all of the great suggestions I am feeling kinda cheeezzzzy however we always take string lights and make our balcony really fun and pretty....it seems to be something the children really enjoy....ok ok me too!!!
