Decided to try 1 more time for entertainment rates for 1st night off-site, Saturday, June 17th.

BW Lakeside had the rate @ 1/2 off:cool1: rack. $50 less than the WDW's AS AAA rate.

Not familiar w/the hotel site but, they're AAA 3 star & it looks nice on the web site. Reservationist tells me they're 5 traffic lights west of main gate entrance (2 miles?).

Anyone ever hear of this place. Can't find them listed in Unofficial Guide.

We're staying here in SIX days, and I hope it is ok. The reason you may not be able to find it in the UG is b/c they recently changed from LaQuinta to a BW. I know it has been almost a year, but for some reason the UG still has it listed at the LaQuinta. I also got a great rate....that I just couldn't pass up. We were renting a car anyway, and the location seems great. Check out trip adivsor, as most of the reviews are pretty good. Have a great trip!

(If you look in the UG under LaQuinta Lakeside you will see it is the same address, hopes that helps)

when BW took it over they redid the rooms. LaQunita was pet friendly - this best western is not....

so the rooms should be in fairly good order.

to get to WDW - go right out of the hotel (it is behind Walgreens) - then turn right again (pass the lake) you are going through a hotel (don't remember the name) - you will come out on Black Lake road turn right again - then turn left at Sherabert road. at the traffic light (you are on WDW property) turn right to the parks..

Confused - do you turn right onto the highway (192/w irlo bronson) to take this shortcut?

Assume this will save a bit of traffic time...

Was starting to wonder why I couldn't find it listed in the books, thanks.

yes turn right - you are going past the little lake next to you.

for some reason this is the one place not connected to that road directly. - probably because the Sheraton (which it was at the time) didn't want to be connected to that road..... even put up a fence....

Thank you...got good reviews on the various on-line sites, hope it's decent.

Any idea how long we should allow to drive to Epcot parking lot to be @ the gates for early entry.

For that matter, how long to AK using the "back" way?

depends upon the traffic - you can get to AK in around 3 minutes - so you can get to Epcot in around 12 minutes - but if there is a lot of traffic when you need to turn left onto Sherabert road - it will be longer.....

you can't do early entry at Epcot - only onsite guest staying at a WDW resort can do early entry...

We'll be dropping off luggage/checking in @ BWV resort desk that a.m. before the park opens for our ID's, thanks.

So what are the great rates you all are getting? Do you need the entertainment card to get them. I am looking for few nights for our trip.

I got $31/night for the BW Lakeside thru Hotwire for 3 nights in early May. Before I accepted the price I read Betterbidding.com, and figured out that the hotel was probably BW Lakeside. No guarantees of course but I took the plunge and indeed it was BW Lakeside. I was thrilled because I stayed there when it was LaQuinta and was quite pleased with it.

Rarely, do I find a 1/2 off rate using the entertainment discount, or $45 in this case. IMO, not too shabby for a AAA 3 star hotel.

I have always been asked to produce my entertainment card @ the hotels but, never when renting a car (?).

Well it seems I'm paying a bit more, but I do not have AAA or the entertainment card. I got $49/night, which is still pretty good for me. I booked ages ago, and then when I was certain this is where we wanted to stay, I got an online special if I paid in full 21 days before our trip. I also used the Orlando Magic Card for an additional discount. The rooms are advertised at $88/night right now, so I am happy.

Also, even if you are not interested in the BW, the Magicard offers some decent deals on other hotels as well.

I saw that special on their site. I think you got a great rate...enjoy!
