I am now thinking about buying SSR. If they give you bonus points, such as buy 150 points, they give you a one time 150 points to use. Can you rent these points out. I was thinking I would buy 150 . I would have a total of 300 to use next year. I only need to use 70 points next year. So I could rent out 230 points at $10 a point. Take the $2300 and apply this to the loan. Renting out the extra 150 at $10 would be like taking off $10 a point. So you start out at $98 then minus $8 incentive = $90 then rent out 150 points. $90 - $10 for renting = $80 point. So can this be done ????? Thanks

You'll need to check with your guide to find out exactly which UY you can get. To my knowledge, they are currently selling March UY. Anyway, with these you would get the March 2005 points, which they should let you bank 100% (or you could rent them). If you did bank them, you'd have 300 pts available on March 1, 2006. What you do with your points is totally up to you.

BTW, you are following a similar approach to what I'm planning to do. I just did a SSR add-on and since I have an Oct UY, I got the 2004 points banked. I'm only going to be using between 55-70 points and won't be using the remaining points, so I'm going to rent what's left. Doing this will actually take my per point costs down to about $75 per point.

I don't know if they are still offering the point incentive; however, I believe that was for add-ons. I made a first-time purchase in March and they had the $8/point incentive. After I got home, I had received in the mail the offer regarding the point incentive. I contacted my guide to see if I hadn't received a perk that was now being offered (because we hadn't officially closed yet and the three day right of recission period had not expired) and he said that the point incentive was for add-ons only.

Getting the 2005 points is for new purchases too (although they may or may not allow you to bank those). There have been some that have posted that they were able to buy a new contract with a Fall UY and were able to get the 2004 points too, but were told they could not bank those.

For my add-on (which I just did 2 days ago), I got the 2004 points and they did let me bank them into 2005.

You can always ask, the worst they can say is no. Oh, and if your guide says no, you could still ask MS and they might let you do it.
