Buying DVC?? Help!!!

Hello everyone! Trying to learn everything I can about DVC, my and husband and I have been considering it for two years, just got back from Disney went on the tour and was able to meet our guide. We decided to go for it and she is sending our papers to sign tomorrow, which I believe our offer is good for 10 days. I would like to find out how the process works after we sign from people who have actually gone through the process. But here is my main question, while at the dvc preview center our guide asked if we had a referral, we told her no, after getting home I see now you can find one on this site. Does anyone know if its to late?? If I call her tomorrow and tell her we found someone? Just wondering if she will ask any questions about how I found it, or if they even care???? Please Help!!!

I don't know if it is too late or not. I would get the name of a member and call back (there is a referral thread on this site where you can find member's names). And, I don't believe that they care how you got your referral.

It can't hurt and can save you money.

We just joined in June, and MAN I wish I would have known about these boards and especially the referral thread prior to our visit. Good Job! and welcome aboard. I believe the offer from DVC is good for 3 days and you have 10 days to back out after you sign.

One member I know had already signed the paperwork when they found out about the referral program. They tried to get the referral discount but their guide told them it was too late so they didn't press the issue. If you don't sign the paperwork you can always provide a member's name and tell them you want the referral discount and hopefully they will honor that. DVC is a major purchase and if you could save a few hundred dollars by having a referral then by all means go for it. Good luck!

I really don't think they care where the referral comes from if it helps them make the sale.

They don't care...my refferal came from a co worker I knew briefly 4 years ago. I knew her name and my guide looked on the computer asked me if she lived in a particular town and I agreed...and that was that. My referral doesn't even know I used her...which may be kinda bad....but hopefully they will send her some gift in the mail...we talked about DVC all those years ago and she was the one that really got me on to DVC so she should get the Kudos.

I don't see why your guide should refuse your referral. You haven't signed any paperwork yet. At this point, you can completely back out of the deal and start over, right?
