How long does a pound of butter last in your home?

I was cleaning out the fridge today and I think we have had the same pound of butter for about 2 months, now.

EDIT... Don't count baking.

Depends on how much cooking/baking I am doing.

it could last a year here.. we dont use alot of butter.

 That's exactly what I was going to say!!

Normally- a lb of butter would last quite a while, however- I have made a couple of batches of shortbread cookies this week (which are all butter, practically) and I have used 1 1/2 pounds.

I only use regular butter for baking, though.

Hmmm a month plus? Unless as mentioned above there is some serious baking going on!;)

1-2 weeks - we are butter hounds, no margarine allowed. I have a French butter dish that always has spreadable butter available on the kitchen counter.

I love to bake and cook. I've got cookies in the oven as we speak! That was 1 1/2 cups butter just this evening! A lb of butter usually doesn't last long around here.

about a week and a half. I use it to cook and for spreading on bread. No margarine here.

I would say a year LOL... I rarely use butter. If I do bake I use the crisco sticks. For everyday use, we use the spray butter " I can not believe its not butter" spray.

Probably just about forever. I can't eat it, so I only use it in baking or candy recipes that specifically say not to substitute.

We must be clogged arteries, saturated fat loving freaks here. I go through at minimum a pound a week, maybe more.:confused3 I found Land O' Lakes on sale at Wal-mart this past week and stocked up. I probably have about 2-3 pounds in the fridge and another 3-4 in the freezer. We do use olive oil on bread sometimes but margarine or other icky fake stuff is not welcome here.:lmao:

after I caught DD trying to eat an entire stick of butter when she was 3, I converted to tubs o' margarine!!

Probably about a pound a week, maybe a little less. I don't like or use margarine. I would rather eat something dry than with margarine.

Depends if I'm on a diet...;) That's all we use is butter. I don't keep magarine or any other kind of spread in the house. I'm like Paula Deen, I love butter.

depends on a good night i can eat the whole pound. sometimes i just get in a butter mood. mmmmm, butter.

I only use butter and margarine for baking. We use Smart Balance light (tub) for day-to-day buttering purposes. Depending on how much I'm cooking meals at home (!), it could be 2-3 weeks, sometimes more, sometimes less.
