Dh's nintendo ds has a broken hinge where you open it. Does anyone know were I could get this fixed. I really don't want to have to buy a new one!!!
Thanks!
When did you buy it? If he got it for Christmas I would call the nintendo 800 number. I called them after my sons screen went blank and they sent me a refurbed one no questions asked. Good luck!
Thank you all for the information. I am going to call nintendo and speak with them about my options. Ds got his nintendo ds for Christmas 2007 from Walmart.com. We have had it for too long to probably get anything fixed for free, but that is ok. Even a $50 charge would be better than having to buy a new one. Thanks a bunch.
do not pay NIntendo for a hinge broken . It is a defect. We hace 2 DS lites and the right hinge broke on it and I was telling a friend about it and she said her son's hinge broke too. Well I googled it and their are a lot of people that it has happened to. I called Nintendo and explained to them that it is an obvious defect and they paid it for free.
Like said above this post, don't pay Nintendo-- insist that they repair it. The hinge crack is a known defect and they know it! We have two DS Lites and they've been back and forth to nintendo 2 times each, plus a 3rd time for one of them. Twice hinge cracks and now as soon as one came back it only reads the game card about 50% of the time when inserted. These things are really a piece of junk compared to the gameboy advances. I think the "going lite" was an error-- a bunch of the moms in my 7 yo's class joke about how many of our DS Lites are being repaired at any one time. And if you have a Best Buy damage coverage policy, don't let them tell you its not covered make them call corporate right then/there to get approval to replace the darn thing.
