Going on my first cruise and have a question...Ive seen that you can bring bottled water on board and I've read the alcohol policy, but what I haven't seen...are you allowed to bring other beverages on board? I dont drink coffee, not a fan of coke products but need some caffeine in the morning. Can I bring my own energy drinks on board?

You may bring whatever non-alcoholic beverages you wish onboard. As much as you can handle, as it must be in your carry on bags.

And when considering how much you can handle, remember the staterooms will not be ready until 1:30pm on embarkation day. So if you board earlier, you will have to cart your carry on bags with the beverages around with you until then. I usually pack whatever beverages I'm carrying on in a roller bag, but it can still be a pain to lug around if you bring on a lot.

Yea I was considering the roller bag. We wont be bringing much, just a few things that we each like that we wont be able to get on the ship, especially in the mornings.

For those that have brought roller bags with cases of 12oz cans, I assume security made you open the bag?

We like Coke Zero and they don’t have it on the Fantasy. When we went this summer we brought 500mL bottles in our carry suitcase. It was easy and great to have!

I've seen the carry on requirement for alcoholic beverages but that's a requirement for non-alcoholic beverages as well?

Yes, bags are handled roughly when loaded on the ship. Packing any liquid brings a high risk of the containers breaking and leaking. Would you want your luggage soaked with someone else's soda/water/energy drink?

And it does happen. In 2015 on the Fantasy I heard (because the guest was being LOUD) officers discussing with a guest how the wine he had incorrectly put in his checked bag broke and soaked into someone else’s luggage. He was basically having to pay to clean the other party’s clothes as well as some basics for them to wear while the laundering was happening - and as argumentative as he was being, he was facing being disembarked.

That definitely makes sense, thanks!
