Bring us a Shrubbery!! May 25-June 1, 2007!!

Glad your dress worked out!

We are heading up to F&G fest tomorrow to renew our passes and to have some relaxing "us-time" post family visit. Wheeee!

Now we need to see a picture of you in the dress!

Hi Brenda,
Just jumped on your pre-trip thread.
Love the dress, I'm happy it works for you. You looked gorgeous in the previous V&A dress.

Thanks Deb! :flower3: I'm glad to have you aboard - hope this trip doesn't disappoint anyone since it will be a Grimace-free zone!

I feel like I should send you a commission check. I keep stealing your ideas for activities for my September/October anniversary/last kid just left for college trip. We are doing Mandara, thanks to you, and I'm going to copy again by ordering the champagne and strawberries for the room. (Not interested in the stinky horse this time, will save that for December '08).

You're not stealing any ideas that I probably didn't steal from someone else...most likely Samantha Brown. Jay probably wishes that show had never been aired! ;)

Awesome!!! You will love Mandara!! I promise to take some good pictures next month and I will post them here so that you can get a better idea of the bliss that awaits you.

What are the dates for your October trip and where will you be staying? Will we overlap at all? We're 10/15 - 10/25.

Going to jump back and see if you posted any more on your past trip report. Deb

No updates since I finished V&A - had a wedding yesterday that ate up most of our free time. And today is catch-up day since we didn't get to do any of our normal Saturday stuff yesterday (groceries, cleaning, laundry...).

Thanks again for reading!!

Glad your dress worked out!

Thanks Erica! Have a great time at Epcot - be sure to let us know how your visit goes.

Now we need to see a picture of you in the dress!

Hold on for another two months and I'll be happy to post a picture! ;)

And a picture of Plankton in his dress!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Actually Plankton needs a bow-tie and a tuxedo jacket. We're working on that...we're just not right in the head.

Thanks Erica! Have a great time at Epcot - be sure to let us know how your visit goes.

Well, we only managed about 1/3 of the festival as Lionel's knee was really bothering him. Wow. I just aged him about 10 years by posting that :rotfl2: - the knees are a product of 5 years in the military running down unpaved roads. Yeah, that's it. :rolleyes1

BUT, the part we did get to see was as beautiful as always! The veggie garden area amazed us and gave us some great ideas that, like usual, we will promptly forget in about 2 weeks. Must remember to bring my camera next time.

You'll have a blast!

Sorry to say that I won't be able to stalk Plankton on our F&W trip.
Our dates are Sept 24-Oct 3.
Do you know the exact dates for F&W events? I noticed you mentioned
July. Do they fill up quickly?
Deb

The festival itself usually begins on the last weekend in September and runs every day through the middle of November.

The extra events - the ones that you have to pay out of pocket for take place on various days / evenings throughout the week.

For example:

Party for the Senses is always on Saturday night.
Sweet Sundays always on Sunday (used to just be the mornings and then last year they added an afternoon session as well)
Certain Epcot restaurants will offer an afternoon food & wine pairing - but only on a given day. Last year Japan was always on Monday; Canada was Friday, Morocco was Tuesday.

The schedule and prices are usually released towards the middle of July and then EPCOT usually begins accepting reservations at 7AM on the morning of July 31st.

Some events like Le Cellier's food & wine pairing are really popular and do sell out within one or two days of reservations being accepted. But other events never sell out at all.

I take the approach that if there is something Jay and I really want to do then I'm calling first thing to try and get it.

Does that help at all?

Guten Tag all! Just had to pop in and say I am not even legal to drink anymore...20 days to go!!! :rainbow: Tomorrow I will be a teenager!! WOO HOO! :dance3: Ok, Sorry Brenda! Now back to the shrubbing.

Thanks Brenda for all the helpful F&W info. See, I really am using you as my vacation planner!
We are staying at AKV Tuesday through Friday. Our ADR's are Jiko, California Grill, GF Tea (we've enjoyed that before your report, so I'm not really copying you on that one), and Artist Point. Considered V&A, but the pressure to find a suitable dress is too much stress for me!
On Friday we check in at BWV for F&W and Mandara. I'm going to try to schedule Party for the Senses, Sweet Sunday and Le Cellier Wine Pairings.
Thanks for the suggestion to book asap for Le Cellier.
Now I just need to will the hurricane gods to stay away...

T-minus 19 days and counting for you!! And no apologies necessary - there should be much trip excitement for everyone here. Share the joy! :thumbsup2

I'm glad I was able to help - feel free to ask away whenever you have a question. If I don't know the answer or have a suggestion there are plenty of great people following along who will. :thumbsup2

Your ADRs sound great - I can't wait to try Jiko and Artist Point next month; I hope they live up to the hype. If you really want to try V&A you don't have to wear a dress - you can wear a pantsuit and you will look just fine. :goodvibes

I'm going to be looking for some food reviews from you later this year, you know that right? :goodvibes

And I think we're all hoping the hurricanes stay away again this year. :thumbsup2

I've got a contact name and phone number for someone at the WDW Florist and I will be calling her this week to start planning some "extras."

Won't Jay be surprised? :yay:

Probably not, but I can try. ;)

I also have a grocery list started...wait a minute...:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: ... sorry, it's just that the idea of grocery shopping on vacation just kills me.

Anyway my list so far:

water
milk
fruit
orange juice
champagne...I think I'd rather get a bottle of the Fairy Tale Cuvee on property, even though it is a little pricey.
bagels / croissants

Looks like we're planning a liquid diet, doesn't it? :lmao:

Nothing wrong with that! You should stay well hydrated while in a warm climate. :drinking1 And eat lots of wonderful salty treats like popcorn:: and you will need to balance all of that sodium with a sweet treat like :cake: or :mickeybar (can you tell I am going smiley crazy today)

BTW18days!!!:stitch2:

18 days for you and 30 days for me!!! :yay:

Just got off the phone with the WDW Florist...

I ordered the Mickey Mouse candy-bar birthday cake with balloons for Jason...he needed a special birthday surprise, don't you think? Of course, I have no idea what we're supposed to do with all that candy before we leave...maybe we can give it to the Concierge.

And then for us..I ordered a gourmet extravaganza with Iron Horse Cuvee and mickey-etched champagne flutes and chocolates and other yummy treats.

But don't tell Jay....remember, it's a surprise!!! :goodvibes

OK I've only read the first page so far, but your dining selections have me drooling. We have to skip CG this time and it makes me sad :( I'll be back later to read more. BTW we'll be there at the same time!

That cake sounds gorgeous are there any pictures any where? And don't worry we won't tell

Welcome aboard and thanks for posting!! I'm sorry you have to skip CG - . If you see us around be sure to say hello and have a wonderful wonderful trip!! :goodvibes

I tried to post a picture from the WDW Florist web site but I couldn't get it to work. I will take pictures next month and post them once we get back - sorry I can't manage to do better than that right now.

And thanks for keeping the secret!! ;)

Just wondering... is it wrong for a 37-year old woman with no children to want a Pal Mickey? And perhaps more importantly...would Plankton be jealous or offended by this potential addition to the vacation menagerie?

For those of you who may be new to the wacky world of travel with Jay and Brenda...Plankton is our vacation mascot.

I wonder how this would play out... :confused3

Our DS got a Pal Mickey back in 2005, and we LOVE him!! He's a great mascot. If I can figure out how to post pictures, I'll post my favorite pix from our last trip .... they include Pal Mickey and a very large mug of German beer . . .;)
