Bring back the good o' days, Things ..........

I watched this one, but it always sort of creeped me out. I mean really, what were those weird people doing talking to the giant freakish costumed animal things?? LOL

Now I understand where my Disney obsession comes from!! I loved New Zoo Revue!

I spent the last 3 years doing this with DD at WDW - talking to the characters, I mean!! :rotfl2:

Now I have some perspective on how my friends must feel about me and WDW! :lmao:

The HEnrietta Hippo dance just priceless.....could my love of that big silly frog explain why my I felt the need to name my child Freddy???

I don't know if it has been mentioned yet but....
H.R. Puffinstuff

I don't remember but you triggered my Saturday mornings, filled with THe Monkees and The Banana Splits oh and the show with the 3 brothers?? ANyone remember them??

I can remember going to my neighbors and her mom would give us dry fruit loops or apple jax (easier to snack on that way) While we sat and watched Land of the Lost. Oh those were the days.

Deanna :bored: :cat:

My Three Sons! Chip, Steve, Ernie, Steve (their dad) and of course, Uncle Charley!

Witchypoo? That name popped into my head.

Yep it was Witchypoo. The boys name was Jimmy, and the talking flute was Freddie. I remember having the HR Puffinstuff soundtrack on
8-track, I was cool, knew all the lyrics of the songs:rotfl2: . Speaking of Sid and Marty Kroft shows, did anyone watch "Lidsville", where all the people lived in the giant hats? I also watched "Sigmund the Sea Monster". Having seen some of these shows later as adults, I have to wonder what these guys were doing when they created all these shows.

Here's a memory for you. The first thing I remember watching on television was the moon landing in '69. The first movie I remember going to.......
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (yes, it was first run, lol). We lived on a military base, and our Saturday Matinees were 25 cents.

Ok....Not sure if this was mentioned, but how about The Magic Garden with Sherlock and the story box! Also, Wonderama and there was another show with a woman, a magic mirror and a bumble bee(boy that sounds like a bad joke!) that I can not remember the name of!!! lol Anyone?

Romper Room?

I loved HR Puffinstuff! And Jimmy! My older sister called me within the past two years and asked if I remembered a show with a witch and a boy and a few more things.....and I gave her all the info she needed to out-trivia her office mates.:rotfl: Normally, she is killer at trivia, but she was too old for that show. However, she remembered that I had been a big fan and was just as good a source of useless trivia as she.

Do you know the guy that played Jimmy died about a year or so ago? (Jack Wild) He won an Oscar when he was very young. They showed his photo at the 2006 Oscars with all the stars that have died, and I'd read about it not long before then. I thought he was close to my age, but it turns out he was just very small and had been older than all the parts he played. So he was close to my sister's age.....I think he was still in his 40s when he died. Poor guy had a really tough life. He's still about 15 in my head and in Tiger Beat magazine. He was quite talented and did a lot of musical theatre in the UK.

And oh.....I had a Banana Splits lunchbox.

That is it!!! Oh how I use to wish that she would look in the mirror and say my name! lol :lmao:

Does this ever bring back memories. One morning my brother, Jay, and I were watching Romper Room. Jay was only wearing his underwear! When she looked in her mirror and said she saw "Jay" my brother jumped up, ran to his bedroom and put some clothes on. lol I do not think he ever watched tv in his underwear again. That will teach you not to run around in your undies!!!

OMG my most favorite show of all time was My Three Sons. I was so in love with with Chip. When my DS was born we named him after his Dad and Grandfather making him the III. To much confusion with names so we nicknamed him "Chip" which he still goes by today. Everyone thinks it is because he is so much like his Dad , which he is, "chip off the ole block". Little do they know he was nicknamed after the first love of my life.

I also loved Uncle Charley. He was funny but so good with the boys. And he could cook. I never knew a man could cook.

I loved re-runs of Ozzie and Harriet when I was little. It was on the Disney channel and I thought Ricky was just sooooo cute. When I got older and found out my mom and dad had seen him in concert not long before he died I was so jealous. LOL I wasn't even born!
