Bring back the good o' days, Things ..........

I LOVED That song when I was little. One of my ABSOLUTE favorite songs was "Angel in the Centerfold" LOl I was just a little thing when I liked that one...only I thought theyw ere saying "Angel in a cinnamon roll" LMAO

ROFL!!! :lmao: :lmao:

A memory just came a'surfacing for me....

I remember doing pool shows with my friends in the backyard pool (we'd pretend we were synchronized swimmers...:rolleyes1 ) to the song Afternoon Delight. Little did we know what the song actually was about!:rotfl2:

I just thought of another one I haven't seen mentioned yet:

Who used to tape songs off of the radio using the cassette player? The darn DJ would always cut in at the end and ruin it!:rotfl2:

I had the Rainbow Brite sheets, blanket, bedspread AND curtains! Plus my parents put a red carpet remnant in my room for me. Holy moly...thinking back that room was just a disaster. LOL

Oh we did that! For us it was 104.3...b104, baltimore! I can still hear it now. I still have some of mine somewhere in storage at my dad's warehouse. LOL

Kids today would not even know how to roll down a car window in an older car. A friends DD was in one of our cars several years ago and I still had a car with the handle to roll down the window and she could not figure it out. It was funny because if you have been raised with automatic windows that handle looks pretty odd. Now if my car remote is not working it seems like such a pain to open the door with a key...ack!

I have a '75 Airstream travel trailer and it still has an 8 track tape player in it! We don't have any 8 track tapes to play in it. My kids would think that those things are ancient...we're talking cave man ancient! I think my kids think that I lived in a cave and made fire with a rock.:lmao:

My dad has a 66 Chevelle SS that he bought when he and my mom were first married. He paid $$$ to have it restored about 5-6 years ago, but it still has the roll down windows and all. My sisters (half sisters ages 9 and 8) love to ride in it just like my brother and I always did. LOL He also has an old stereo out in his shop (oversized garage where he works on his tractors and crap) that has not only an 8track, but a record player!!! He even has the 8 track tapes for it. LOL

My DH has a 65 Malibu SS convertible. He has all sorts of old...I mean vintage...stuff in the garage. No record player, but we have records. I don't know why we are keeping them.

The original loves of my life. I remember kissing Shawn Cassidy everynight before I went to sleep. My favorite song was Doo Run Run. Now if I could just find a Ricky Schroder poster:rotfl:

Here you go...

Just remembered a couple more...

Dr. Dimento, fish heads fish heads rolly polly fish heads eat them up yum!

Does anyone in NJ/NY remember The Uncle Floyd Show?

And some game I can't remember the name...it had a long board/box with a median and you had to roll these silver marbles that had either red or blue plastic ring around it, bounce off the back of the box around the median into a score area?

Rebound! That was a fun game!

Love's Baby Soft, Calvin Klein Jeans, "boat shoes", Super Sun-In, and those lollipops that did not have a wrapper. They were on a hollow plastic stick. They were usually 2 colors and were similar to sweet-tarts.

I had a Baby That-a-Way and a Holly Hobbie doll.

I had a Besty Clark Lunch box.

Being sent to the corner store to buy cigarettes and milk. The milk was actually two 1/2 gallon cartons attached at the top with a piece of cardboard that had two holes for inserting your fingers for easy carrying.

Wow..that Ricky poster made me think of Silver Spoons. I so wanted his bedroom. His racecar bed, the video arcade games...a girl can dream though!

This thread has brought back many memories!!!! I remember working in the garden all summer long pulling weeds and watering for what seemed like hours!!! Then come the fall, picking all that food and then helping my mother freeze and can it all!!! Every year, Mom would can 21 bushels of tomatoes!!!! I don't even think you can buy the stuff for canning anymore!!
I also remember her making all our clothes, (except for my brothers, because of the jeans), of getting one pair of shoes a year. Those were for good and the shoes that were for good became the shoes for school and the school shoes were play shoes. In the summer we went barefoot!!
I lived in the country so it was either walk where you wanted to go or ride the bike! I also remember going to the barn and playing in the hayloft. We were always outside first thing in the morning and back in the house by sunset.
I was raised in the late 50's early 60's and so there was alot of history being made then. I remember seeing ECHO for the first time floating over our house before it came down and that is when I realized what the "cold war" was all about. That is when my childhood ended!

I used to love watching Wonder Woman and wished I could be her and thoguht she had the coolest outfit. I still wish I could wear that outfit!:lmao:

What awesome cars your dads have!

I agree. :) He used to tell me I could have it when I turned 16...it never happened. LOL I wouldn't have wanted it then anyway, it was a mess. He had started working on it and then hadn't finished, so it was not pretty anymore. It is now though and I want it!! He isn't giving it up anytime soon. When he decided to pay a local $$ guy that restores classic cars, I knew it was over for me. A neat thing though...from the time I was a few months old there were 2 diaper pins stuck in the passenger side sun visor. We had gone to Chestertown, MD for the day (45 minutes away), Mom decided to take the cloth diaper off and put a disposable (super $$ to them then), so she stuck the pins up there. They stayed there until a few years ago. In fact, the guy bought a replacement visor and gave that one to dad so we didn't ahve to take them out. :thumbsup2

Something are better now than they were back then!!!:lmao: And he is Rick Schroder now.

He's Ricky again. . If you look on the credits of Strong Medicine he is Rick and on last season's '24' he was back to Ricky. I guess no one liked the new Rick.:lmao:
