We want to do both Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace on our upcoming trip. I'd like to hear which meal you like better at each. Is one better for breakfast? What about dinner? :confused3

I can't speak to Chef Mickey's but we've eaten @ Crystal Palace numerous times. It is one of my favs.

We've had both breakfast & supper there. Either would be good. Both are fairly standard buffett food. We've had very tasty turkey & red velvet cake at suppers. I prefer breakfast, simply because I like the eggs made to order. They will also make you Mickey pancakes (with or w/out chocolate chips :) )

Little trick if you do breakfast @ CP, for non-extra magic hour mornings.
Make as early an ADR as you can get (around 8am). If the park opens at 9am, they will let you in early for your ADR (just be sure to bring your ADR # with you so they can check you off). You can get some amazing pix on Main Street w/almost no one else around. And, as long as you don't linger over breakfast you can be out by 9am. And there you are at the end of main street well past the majority of folks just starting through the gates. We find you can get a good 2 to 3 rides in before the crowds start to catch up to you. When we rode Buzz last trip we wer the only people on the ride as far forward or back as we could see. :goodvibes

We liked CP for breakfast much better than the dinner. We also liked it because we had an ADR for before the park opens and to walk down a empty Main Street is always a plus in our books :thumbsup2. The breakfast food at CP is typical breakfast food, but it is really good food (love, love the puffed french toast ). As for Chef Mickey's, we are not big fans of either the breakfast or dinner there. The food is so-so at best and we always felt rushed by both our servers and the characters.

Are you on a budget? If you are on a budget do breakfast because it is less expensive and those buffets are expensive at dinner.

If you are on the dining plan do dinner at Crystal Palace. I would pay OOP for Chef Mickey's breakfast and then still do a dinner that night. Chef Mickey's was good, they had a LOT of variety, plus it is easier to start at a hotel earlier in the morning then head to the parks as opposed to go to the park head to Contemporary then back to park.

CP is not a very good dinner, I have heard good things about their breakfasts though
I prefer the CM breakfast

CM--we prefer the breakfast there and didn't like the lunch or dinner too much.

CP--we've only done breakfast there but it was great.

We also prefer CP breakfast over CM. It puts you in the park also, so all you do is walk out and get on some rides.:thumbsup2

I have only been to dinner at both not BF. For dinner we did not like Chef Mickey's. Of course we loved the characters but not the food. We really liked the dinner at Chrystal Palace and we would go back! I would like to try BF at Chrystal palace. It seems like they would have a big selection.

I would choose BF for chef Mickey's and Dinner for Chrystal Palace.

We prefer breakfast at CP before the MK opens. Love the french toast! Did dinner a few years ago...the food was just ok, it was very noisy and we were rushed.

We have done CM many times for dinner and prefer the buffet there.

We are doing these both again the end of January...in fact my birthday dinner is at CM the day we arrive...can't wait!:cool1:
