SM People -- please fill in your favorites in the all-mighty spreadsheet, or else you will be getting coals and chopped liver for gifts! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Seriously, some people asked me to issue this plea so they don't have to rush around the airport thinking of what to get for you :thumbsup2

Stateroom tag:

For my sanity's sake, the deadline to sign up for stateroom tag in the all-mighty spreadsheet is 3/25. Thanks for understanding!

Since I see quite a few people on line. I have a question.
What are people doing in Maderia? Are you doing a DCL excursion? Or if you're doing your own thing, what sugestions do you have? I'd like to see the island and yet get back for the flower parade.
Thanks for the imput,
Jennifer

I'm no help -- I'm signed up to do the hiking in Rabacal. If it's not washed out :(

We are doing our own thing. We had looked at a couple of the excurisions but they either didn't interest us or they were WAY too expensive. So I figure we will wait and see what Disney gives us as some points of interest right before we get there. If you like plants and the such they have quite a few gardens that don't look too hard to get to. And a cable car that might be nice to ride. We would also like to see the flower parade.

When I did this one, our return for the EB cruise we will have a 20 hour layover in Amsterdam (I did this on purpose so we could see at least a little of amsterdam). We managed to find a 2 bedroom hotel room for a good price but I will still have to figure out what are the "must do's" are for amsterdam

We did a whirlwind tour a few years ago - it was a stop on our Renaissance Cruise. We went to Kuekenhof Gardens and they were THE MOST beautiful sight that I have ever seen. HOWEVER we were lucky enough to be there the 1st week of May and I think that was toward the end of the blooming season but you could go online and check it out. It was an easy place to get to via a short bus ride.

We also did the Anne Frank House - that was really interesting and emotional.I think it's a great spot to see with kids ( have them read Diary first ).

We were able to fit in a quick walk, via the Red Lamp District (:scared1:) on the way back to the boat.

I wish we'd had time for a canal cruise and a trip to the Heineken Plant!!!

Of course they also have fabulous museums.

You will really enjoy your time there!!

Does anybody have any thoughts on things to do in Cadiz if you are not doing an excursion?

I'm planning to just walk about at my leisure :) hopefully enjoying a nice day (insert fingers crossed smiley here)

Krisann - I was in Amsterdam at 9yo....we did the Anne Frank House, Delft (where the china is made) & Madorodam (http://www.madurodam.nl/?lang=1). We also walked thru the Red Light District (Mom RUSHED us through) lol!

A river/canal cruise is a must IMO

Madiera...My DS and I are doing the Caves and north coast tour

Cadiz...what to do .....they have a HOHO...I think Lynne has a link to it on her website

IMHO....Launches...my poor sister...who lives in ft lauderdale has gotten up at 2 am and driven to many (at least 4 or 5) "planned" shuttle launches...only to be told at the last minute it was cancelled, because of wind, errors, funny readings, clouds, a rain drop etc..etc.. I would personally never make specific plans that surround the launch alone.... now a plan to extend the vacay just because you can ? Why not! :)

Hi Everyone:

We will be doing all the ports on our own, and what we would like to do:

Madeira: cable car, Monte Palace Tropical Garden & Flower parade
Cadiz: self-walking tour & Cadiz Hop on Hop Off bus
Gibraltar: main street, Point Europa & Gibraltar Botanic Gardens
Barcelona: Gothic Quarter, Palau de la Generalitat, Parc Guell & Magic Fountain
Castaway Cay: beach, beach & beach!

If you have any other recommendations for us with two tween girls, they would be welcome. Thanks.

- Martin

THOUGHTS ON CADIZ ... a compilation of beach information compiled by a DISer ... and I think it located in Aunt Lynne's book of knowledge (in her signature).

every time I take a Tae Kwon Do class I have 10 pages to catch up on when I come home...:rotfl:

:scared1: Do Cougars know Tae Kwon Do?
