Know full well that those of us whose kids and grandkids are not with us will be enjoying yours enjoy their trip.:goodvibes:

Jan

And also those of us who don't even have kids and grandkids of our own! I love watching the children's reactions to everything on the ship.

We will be willing to open our cabin to show. We are in a Cat 6 6646. My suggestion on the time frame would be after lunch to afternoon time. This way it gives housekeeping time to straighten up the rooms and if some people have Palo brunch reservations it gives them time to enjoy them without having to worry about getting back to their room quickly.

If they saw just one other girl in her dress, would they be sad they didn't have theirs? And how many times do they get to be princesses?

If I had one, I'd want to wear it. :goodvibes

I'm planning on bringing a Princess dress for my daughter princess:for princess/prince night but I don't think I can get my son to dress. He is so excited about dressing for pirate night, he's been sleeping in his new pirate hat.pirate:

FOR THOSE STAYING AT THE HYATT:

Don't know if you've seen it on the main board, but 2 of the restaurants at the Hyatt have certificates available at restaurants.com. You can purchase a certificate in advance at a huge discount. If you use the code BITE at check out, you will get an additional 80% off the certificate price. Do read the fine print for each restaurant (the ones at the Hyatt require purchase of 2 entrees). Just go to restaurants.com, enter either the zip or Florida/Orlando and scroll thru them.

If there's anything I need to know, someone punch me (or e-mail!) I can't keep up with 20 pages per day, gang!

that is it - all my plane reservaions are made and confirmed! Last one was BCN to Paris. When I did this one, our return for the EB cruise we will have a 20 hour layover in Amsterdam (I did this on purpose so we could see at least a little of amsterdam). We managed to find a 2 bedroom hotel room for a good price but I will still have to figure out what are the "must do's" are for amsterdam but that can wait till this summer. I also went shopping ad bought some more new clothes so that I can pack more things and people quit asking to wear them!

TRIVIA QUESTION ... for our newer DCL cruisers:

Disney-philes, or Disney Cruise junkies will likely know the answer, so please, if you are SURE you know the answer, PLEASE withhold your answer for a day or two, until others have had a chance to make a few guesses. I'd like to see how imaginative some of our newer guests can be ...

Question: What do YOU think is the most technologically advanced area / object / device / area / *thing* on the Disney Magic?

The only clues I will give at this point are as follows:
1) Is is not a human being
2) It never leaves the ship, not even during dry-dock
3) It is ALSO on the Disney Wonder
4) It has been on the Disney Magic since it's 1998 Inaugural Cruise
========================
3/15/10: Here are the guesses submitted so far ...

1) I would think something on the bridge or engine room but that is to obvious.....
2) Hmmm i think the computer game where you can be at the bridge in the kids club.....
3) this is a guess...but I had a tour of the bridge and the navigation/auto pilot system that guided the boat was pretty darn impressive.
4) ... maybe it is a conveyor belt in the kitchen or the plumbing for all I know
5) I'm going to guess that it's the water filtration system - to turn seawater into drinking water?
6) My husband's guess is that it's something to do with the productions onboard - the stage or lighting.
7) I would have to think one of the shows/theaters.
8) I am going to guess the stabilizers?
9) Is it the stage that rotates and goes up and down?

Feel free to continue posting your guesses :confused3

How many believe they know the correct answer? PM me if you want to check your answer.

On the ship can I wear the one pair of tennis shoes I plan on bringing or do I have to have my actual gym shoes? :confused3
You can wear any tennis shoes -- as long as toes are covered. :) No one is really monitoring the gym. Someone sits in the corner but not policing.

I finally got my Castaway Club membership # and want to log in on the site but it keeps getting an error.......
Anybody else that has the same problem or does everybody just get into the site??

I had an error last night too. Was going to log on later today.

To all that are hoping to watch the launch of the shuttle, just a word of caution. On the radio this morning they said that there was a hydrogen leak found. They are trying to repair it out at the launch pad but if it is unable to be repaired out there they will have to haul it back to the VAB and do the repairs there which might delay the date of the launch. Just wanted to give you all a heads up.

You know when we went on another cruise they had a shuttle launch - we got up early that morning, rented a car - went out to CC and the launch got scrubbed - it took them like 3 weeks to launch it. Now fast forward to last week -

hubby calls and says - the shuttle is going up again on the 5th

I say too bad we are getting there on the 7th - want me to change the flights and stuff so we can go -

Hubby (thinking about it because he really wants to do it) says no because by the time we do all that, penalties, new hotel, car rental, it will be a lot of added expense and what happens if it doesn't go up like before
I agreeded with him.

So instead we decided to take some money and buy a cool telescope that we could possibly see it when it orbits like we could one other time and we have that to keep and other times too.

It would make it a great thing if they did delay it till Thursday morning :) but not Friday because you know we are going to epcot and expect to have the whole place to ourselves :) :rotfl::rotfl2::hippie:

Here is a reply I got to a ? I posted on another forum:

Hello Monica,

Yes, everybody has been working so hard and our town is almost back to normal.

The majority of restaurants and cafes open on Sunday, so you'll have a lot to choose from. Maybe if you discuss the matter with your driver, he'll be able to recommend the right restaurant for you. A light meal including, for instance, soup, bread and a drink can cost you something between 5 and 7 euros, or a bit more, it will all depend on your choice of restaurant.

You're welcome.

I had asked for an estimate of what I should have on hand for a light nosh. Sounds like there have been cruises docking - so I figure we're probably a go :thumbsup2

Also saw this Poncha is an alcoholic drink made up of sugar cane rum, honey, lemon juice and orange juice, all mixed together.

I think I'll have to be trying that!

Should I be packing princess dresses for my dd's for the Prince/Princess Night? I have formal dresses for them (regular dresses)...so it would just be for theme night. Will others be wearing them? I'm sure we don't NEED them, but dd5 would want to if others willl be doing it.

We will be packing a princess outfit for our DD5. You are right in that they grow out of the princess phase so quickly so this will likely be sort of a last hurrah. I don't think we'll be able to get our DD7 in a princess outfit, but may bring an outfit just in case. :confused3

Woody,
For those wanting to leave surprises in your Fish extender for the son of your friends, where do we find said fish extender?
