You folks are on a mission I think, ~~Get to Thread #5 before we cruise Mission!~~

Now that I've tried to catchup and read through these pages and am on information overload, I am wondering how relaxing this vacation will actually be:rotfl:

We do have our cruise docs in hand (USPS arrived yesterday, glad to have my luggage tags but beyond that, just fun to get but not really a whole lot of new information right? Do like the rip out contact cards to leave home with the family.

Spent the entire day in the ER yesterday but home today. My DH had another TIA. Not good news but no permanant damage that they can tell so far. Just more follow up test and Dr visit. He drove his normal 100 mile 2 hour commute this morning to work.
I am still trying to get in for some blood work before Dr will address my back pain issues.
This cruise is suppose to help our stress levels (both of us!) so I am trying to be low key about the planning, it is so hard!

Everything sounds like a lot of fun. I do not care what you all decide about times for SM, photo ops, or other things. We will just follow the schedule! Also we are one door down from midship elevators on Deck5 if you want to use our door for a dry erase board. I will have limited magnet collections this time so plenty of room.

My FE shopping is done, keeping it very simple this trip. My SM shopping is nearly done (Michelle I sent you a pm with a question when you get a chance), still need details about knitting and what to bring supply wise? Still not sure about our clothes. What to bring and what to just leave off this trip. The range seems limitless. oh dear.

This is a boring post. Maybe some boredom is what my life needs right now:)

We are leaving behind so much at home for these two weeks that has to be aranged for and planned out it seems that my focus is on that more then the cruise. Might just have to use our at sea time to play catch up.

Carry on all you over the top wonder planners! We slackers thank you.

:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: to you & your DH.

Just touch base with us when you can - let us know how you're doing. This is supposed to be a non-stressful thing......keep picturing yourself sitting on a deck chair on Deck 4 :goodvibes and breathe :hug:

T - take care of yourself (as much as those Alpacas will allow)....you have lots of walking about to do coming up soon.

I was saving this for later, but it sounded like you could use it now.

aren't the eagles a band?

If I was a Philadelphia Eagles fan, you would have problems with both legs!

Actually, I am not a football fan. I tell people that Pennsylvania has one professional football team - the Pittsburgh Steelers! The Eagles are barely college-level. I'd rather watch arena football - more interesting, and more action! Jon Bon Jovi owns the Philadelphia Soul.

OTOH, I love the Philadelphia Flyers, and will watch the Phillies if/when they are doing well. Sixers - eh? Not interested.

Thossink,

That is great. I absolutely love it. We all need that reminder as it gets closer. So many things to think about that it can make your head spin if you let it.

Got my FE gifts ordered today! I need to print off my list of people and places to deliver to, but it feels nice to have that knocked out.

I need to go shopping for DH, and get some party type things to decorate our room and dining table for the day of his birthday. Nothing huge, but maybe some streamers and a little confetti.

Tried on some summer clothes from last year, and WAHOO! they still fit! I've purchased a couple dresses and fancy shirts for dinners already, but still need to find a formal dress for myself. I've done all the shopping for DS, so he is ready to go. DH needs to try his suit on and make sure it still fits, but I think he's good to go for the most part. Just need to get him a new swim suit.

I'm still waiting for our docs to arrive, crossing my fingers for today.

Excitement for the trip is building! And, DH came home yesterday with news that he might have a business trip in Orlando in October. A Disney cruise and WDW in the same year? How does that work!!!

...
Very cool on the A Joi!! We'll celebrate onboard!!

Most definitely!...

I thought it would be more like categories "Most creative, Best theme, Craziest" so that there would be multiple awards vs. each room getting a 1-10 rating. The latter option sound like math to me. I am never a fan of math.
:snooty:

Do other's have thoughts? I am willing to make up ballots and bring prints for voting if this is the direction we agree on.
Please weigh it!

I am with you....I like the catagory idea....the more the merrier!

Thanks For the crochet offer...I think I will bring a needle and yarn ...who knows what one can do ....

Last thing I remember I was running for the door -T
....this whole eagle thread is making me want to run now :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Love that last graphic Terry! ...

OK back to work ;)

When the idea of awards first came up, I suggest just a regular "best door" contest. Anyone who wanted to vote could - we'd have a day and place for the voting. Door with most votes wins. But having different catagories for the doors is cool too. I'd add "strangest/oddest" to you list - but that's me and I wouldn't be offended if someone told me my door is strange.

The other awards mentioned were:

youngest traveler
newest married
married the longest
traveled the greatest distance to get to the ship

any other ideas?

The type of award was something small that could be attached to the winner's door (with a magnet of course :goodvibes). Do we want blue ribbons or a certificate? If we want a certificate do we want a full sheet of paper or half sheet? I'm willing to work on this part if I know what to get or make.

Kristi

I liked the idea of something that could be stuck on the door, a la county fair, but my official vote is if you are willing to make them, then you get to decided!

With you on awards and me on ballots, I think we just created a 2 woman committee.

So if I got it right we have two categories: People and Doors
People -
  • youngest traveler
  • newest married
  • married the longest
  • traveled the greatest distance to get to the ship
Doors-
  • Best Overall
  • Most Creative
  • Best Theme
  • Craziest/ Stranges

Any additions?

What about the obvious ... combine both categories for ...

CRAZIEST PERSON? :rotfl2:
