Good Job:thumbsup2 "I think there for I am"

Thanks Terry (and all the other congraters too :))
I am hoping you feel better soon...muscle pulls stink .....

Hey did you notice...one minute Steve is harrasing you:cool1:... but as soon as there is a possibility of a cougar strike...he NEEDS you ! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I may bring a crochet neadle and thread....as long as someone can show me the basic stitch ...I can make a blankie for the plane ride home :lmao:

I can put a board on my door for floor 8. Dishy24, could I get one of your boards please? Do they have magnets on the back or do I need to buy a hook? No problem I'll just add it to the list.:thumbsup2

Ya those people from Philly are little wimpish:rotfl: They need us big , strong, silent types to keep them out of trouble.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

If you do the reveal during the awards lunch, would some people not participating in SM feel left out? I'm just wondering.

Maybe we can make ballot sheets and people can mark their score, then bring them to someone(s) to add up the night before the lunch? That way the judging is not up to just a few people but everyone who wants to can participate. We can score from 1 - 10? on the other hand, that can get messy...for those adding up...I'm just free-associating right now...:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I am not participating in the SM. Personally I think if we front load the Awards, all the non-SMs can just enjoy each other company while the SMs do their thing. Plus, I enjoy watching other people enjoy themselves, so for me that would be fun. popcorn::

I am all for the ballot approach so that more people can participate. I would be willing to be a ballot drop off point/tallier of ballots. I realized I made an assumption about the awards. I thought it would be more like categories "Most creative, Best theme, Craziest" so that there would be multiple awards vs. each room getting a 1-10 rating. The latter option sound like math to me. I am never a fan of math.
:snooty:

Do other's have thoughts? I am willing to make up ballots and bring prints for voting if this is the direction we agree on.
Please weigh it!

Hey Joi! I think I can show you the very basics, though I have only ever done very basic work myself. I may even bring a little tutorial (stolen from the web) to remind myself! I am happy to share.

I tried for years to learn to crochet and knit - various people have showed me, with no luck! Then I found a great thing - it is called the Kniffty Knitter - and it is a loom that when you are finished it looks knitted! I may or may not bring it with me - depending on how much room I have at the end - I have them in all sizes and I love doing them and I can do it while I talk - which makesit even better!

I think that it sounds like great idea...about the awards being in the front of the SM reveal, and about the categories for the ballots. :thumbsup2

Is anyone on the 9:20 British Airways flight to London on the 24th? I am trying to decide if I ditch the Disney transfers and get off the boat at 6:30 for the 9:20 flight. I am just not sure about the customs and being able to get off. DCL says they have not set a disembarkation time yet.

Heck, I live in Florida and still haven't gotten mine. :lmao:

Kristi

We don't have ours yet either....that's okay though, I like being surprised w/ something special in the mail.

My husband and I have been talking about doing walks before breakfast and trying to get some time in the gym each day. With all the yummy food to eat on the ship we don't want to gain a ton of weight. We have already gained enough from stopping our daily workouts so we could work extra hours for to make money for this cruise. I don't know if we will do anything organized or if we will just go on our own though.

Us too! On our last cruise we did big workouts every sea day and some on port days as well. I always seem to gain weight on a cruise :worried:- combination of the food and also a lack of activity (I exercise a lot at home) - and its really hard to come home and work it all off.

I don't like to limit my indulgences - heck we're on vacation! - so I plan to do more time in the gym. I also like to do the fitness classes that are offered.

No docs in our town in Northern Mass. Of course if they come USPS, then I might not get them as our mail carrier constantly misdelivers our mail, forgets to hold our mail, gives us other people's mail, etc. :confused3 So it might be a week.

If they are coming UPS or Fedex, I have faith they would arrive. They love our house, we must average more than a package a day (love Amazon).

Yep, we know our UPS guy pretty well too b/c it seems we're always ordering something online. His deliveries are the highlight of our dog's day!

We too are on this flight and before booking I asked my TA who in turn asked Disney which is the best way. We were told to book a taxi the night before at 6am to ensure there will be one available. The taxi ride should be about 20-30min and we'll be there 3 hrs before departure as suggested by the airlines. I've never been to BCN so I would prefer to stick with their guidelines, especially after reading the reviews of how slow and long the lineups can get at the airport.

Waiting for our docs as well. :dance3:

ONE MONTH FROM TODAY, we will be in EPCOT enjoying the festivities :)

The scrapbook room goes into action this weekend as I crank out my FE gifts...........hmmmmmmmmmm

Lynne--Welcome back from the race.

Thanks Lynne :thumbsup2 I'm going to opt not to peek for now though, I really want my actual docs in hand to look through. Of course, if they don't come in the next day or two you know I'm going to have to peek ;)

I must agree with you. I'm trying not to peek either. Let's see how long that lasts. :goodvibes

IMHO..I am thinking that may be a point... it may be best just to have one central... (middle floor, middle room # ) DIS dry erase board on one door vs one on each floor... to keep it simple... :confused3

I got an A in philosophy! I was worried this class was gonna mess with my GPA .... PHEW.... I am skipping next semester... too busy.... cruising :rolleyes1

Congrats on the "A". That's awesome. Glad we were not too much of a distraction. :goodvibes

The needle would have felt better:rotfl2: I can hardly walk this morning.

massages are a wonderful thing - so is either heat or cold whichever feels better to you. I think cold is best for the first couple of days though. Be sure to gently stretch and move so it doesn't stay locked up.

Of course, if you are hobbled by the leg - that just makes it easier for you to chase down if needed. :rotfl2:

--Cruise documents indicate "Disembarkation begins at approximately 8:00AM." They also indicated ONBOARD time of 11:00PM on Friday night. I'm guessing they pull in the gangplank.

I took the 5pm (or something close to it) flight to London. It was the cheapest of the day without having to get up before the birds.

When the idea of awards first came up, I suggest just a regular "best door" contest. Anyone who wanted to vote could - we'd have a day and place for the voting. Door with most votes wins. But having different catagories for the doors is cool too. I'd add "strangest/oddest" to you list - but that's me and I wouldn't be offended if someone told me my door is strange.

The other awards mentioned were:

youngest traveler
newest married
married the longest
traveled the greatest distance to get to the ship

any other ideas?

The type of award was something small that could be attached to the winner's door (with a magnet of course :goodvibes). Do we want blue ribbons or a certificate? If we want a certificate do we want a full sheet of paper or half sheet? I'm willing to work on this part if I know what to get or make.

--ohhhh, no! Don't tell me you got kicked by an alpaca! Good thing it was only your leg!

Actually it jumped up and I ended up carrying it... For about 5 seconds before my leg gave out. Second timeI hurt this leg in a month.:sad1: At least I am moving around a little bit better now than this morning.

--wimpish? I can tell you've never attended an eagles game!

arn't the eagles a band?????
