ARRGH,
I was out in the barn tonight giving some animals their shots and I pulled a muscle in my leg. I almost had to crawl back to the house. I hope it gets better before we go on shore excursions.

Ouch!! I hope it gets better fast.

Krisann,
That is awesome about your WBTA cruise. I am so jealous. I wish I could convince my DH to do that as well. I got your info on the Lanyards and will PM you back within the next few days.

You had BETTER be on the ship ... I don't think I can defend myself from all of the Cougars without your help! :rotfl2:

So, did you stick yourself with the needle by mistake? :scared1:

Katypop our docs arrived today.

Leaving for Vero on Friday - hope the weather improves in Florida!

What has worked (or not worked) on past cruises?
On a long cruise (Panama Canal) we had one centrally located Dry Erase Board (near the midship elevators). Everyone knew to check there regularly.

Advantages: there was a single location for the most current information. ("Kayla'sMom was upgraded at the port to Cabin 6789," "I forgot to pack my camera charger; anyone have one for a Canon model XYZ?," and "Due to an art auction, the time for the group photo in the Atrium has changed to 2:00.")

Disadvantages: with felt tip markers, there was not enough room for all messages on a single dry erase board. I would recommend two or more boards.

I can supply 2 Disney Cruise Line Dry Erase boards for a centrally located message center!

My docs did not arrive today. Are they coming via USPS, UPS, or FedEx? What should I be watching for?

I bought some pirate hats today, ordered an Alice in Wonderland messenger bag, and a mickey shirt for DS. My Mickey bracelet and stroller bag came in the mail today. Can you tell I'm getting excited?

---Which is why I would not travel 5 flights to see someone asking for a battery charger ... as I would likely see them at the next event. I would not want to have to walk to the board before every event or group event. The latter part (art auction) is what I was talking about - changes / cancellations (etc). If any location has to have multiple boards ... there's too much information.

<<Centrally located board>> My point exactly ... if it's 5 floors away, it's not centrally located!

No docs yet. I did my Priceline bid tonight for 4/7...I'm flying in late and will go to WDW the next morning. Yeah, I'm cheap. The DVC rates are unreal; I can typically stay 3 nights for what one is costing--realized later that it's Easter week.

Anyhow, I got the Amerisuites. I've stayed there before--nice. They have an awesome full breakfast. I bid $31. Total cost with taxes, etc. was $42.

I have a large 11.5 x 11.5 board that can be used just for DIS stuff. That is what I was planning when I had offered up the idea a few months ago. The board can be placed on 7542 which is very close to the midship elevators.

I also don't mind someone else putting this one on their door either.

Just let me know. I was thinking of personalizing this board with someone "DIS". The board has no edges which make it even larger bc there is no plastic border on the outsides.

:thumbsup2 The pre-cruise night I got for Port Canaveral is the first time I used Priceline - and I only did it because it was spelled out for me how much to bid and that I was guaranteed my location! Afraid of getting something I don't want. Glad that yours was successful - especially with your prior experience.

I did ask her that-- she had no idea! She said she found 2 old hooks she had from years ago & is just using them! Maybe ask at a JoAnn's Fabric (or that type of place) what size they would suggest for a baby blanket!

I think it depends on the yarn you are using. Take the pattern and pick out the yarn and hopefully someone at the store would have enough experience to help you. I have a hooded baby blanket pattern that I'll look for, it has directions for both Knitting and crocheting. If I find it I'll PM you.

:sad1: I don't have mine either...

I guess us St Louis people don't get any...:sad1:

I use Dawn dishwashing detergent for stain removal.....I hope it works on your spotty scrubs. :)
Lori

Thanks, I'll try it!

Linda, I know how you feel

My daughter joined me for the second half of my B2B this past Sept. I sat watching and waiting for her to be announced, it was her first cruise :goodvibes Well, she avoided the whole introduction and just walked on past them :rolleyes:I was hoping to get a pic of her :sad2: I might try the same thing this cruise :rolleyes1

Sounds like a great idea! I'm going to try that.

No docs yet...:sad1:

I thought I would toss in my two cents on the Group Photo. Do we want to get together when the official cruise photographers are out? If so I would vote for Saturday the 17th or Thursday the 22nd. We will likely be well dressed those evenings and looking our best. :lovestruc I also like the idea of taking the picture after we have had a chance to spend some time together, rather than at the beginning of the trip.

If a daytime photo taken by a non-Disney photographer is preferred, I still think those dates would work. If the weather is nice, perhaps at the Goofy pool or the Atrium if the weather is icky.

What do you think?

I like the idea of a group photo in formal or semi-formal attire. I also agree we should "gel" in person first before the group photo, though I don't think we'll have a problem, except for maybe the cougars and prey :lmao::lmao::lmao:

On previous cruises, we arranged the group photo through Shutters. They were more than happy to help.

Can I suggest that we bundle the Award Lunch with the Secret Mickey Reveal? Could we make this lunch of the 22nd and then follow up with the group photo at a set time for those who don't attend the lunch?

Finally, I think we also need to schedule the stateroom tour.

 Phew! There is still so much to do! :sad2:

If you do the reveal during the awards lunch, would some people not participating in SM feel left out? I'm just wondering.

Maybe we can make ballot sheets and people can mark their score, then bring them to someone(s) to add up the night before the lunch? That way the judging is not up to just a few people but everyone who wants to can participate. We can score from 1 - 10? on the other hand, that can get messy...for those adding up...I'm just free-associating right now...:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I got an A in philosophy! I was worried this class was gonna mess with my GPA .... PHEW.... I am skipping next semester... too busy.... cruising :rolleyes1

NICE!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I think it depends on the yarn you are using. Take the pattern and pick out the yarn and hopefully someone at the store would have enough experience to help you. I have a hooded baby blanket pattern that I'll look for, it has directions for both Knitting and crocheting. If I find it I'll PM you.

Every pattern has a recommended hook size or needle size (knit / crochet). If you pick a pattern, look at the materials section it will tell you the yarn weight and hook size. Just pick a pattern you like. You can also check "how to" books or web sites. I know for knitting, they have a list of yarn weights and the needles that most commonly go with those weights.

I'm lucky to work with other TAs -- when I;m gone, someone else forwards the docs to my clients. I just leave instructions...Makes me feel important for a few days...:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

The needle would have felt better:rotfl2: I can hardly walk this morning.
