Book now or wait

We have decided to book a Disney trip oct 7 thru 14. I'd prefer not to go during Columbus day but with dh's work schedule it is the best bet as he gets 7 days off in a row ever few months so this way we would only need him to take 1 personal day. If we do it then I'm guessing there is not going to be much discounts offered as Columbus day is the 13th. Should we book now or wait for a discount.

If you will go regardless of whether or not a discount if offered, I'd book now to be sure you get what you want. If you will only go with a discount, I'd wait to see what (if any) discounts are released for your dates. Since Disney releases discounts to fill rooms, not all resorts/room types are always offered under promos. If a resort is at or near capacity, Disney will see no need to include that particular resort/room type in the discount. If you book now in hopes of a discount, that is one less room Disney has to fill. If you book now and a discount comes out later, you can have it applied to your existing reservation, provided the resort you have booked is available under the discount. However, sometimes you have to be flexible with your resort and/or room type as having a reservation already in place does not guarantee a discount can be applied. HTH .
