Boardwalk Bride's PJ Morocco/Canada/Attic/SCP updates 01/09!!

Love the shoes and the veil.

I agree with you about the MK photos. We are big Disney lovers - we love all the parks. One of the first things we love to do is walk down Main Street to the Castle. We also love Epcot. We decided to have our ceremony in Epcot and do the MK photos. We had Misty and I love our Epcot preceremony, ceremony and postceremony photos. The day after our wedding we went to the MK for the MK photos. It was beautiful and exciting and really special. Someone had suggested a photographer and we got him. Unfortunately, we were not that thrilled with our MK photos. They were very nice but nothing compaired to some others I have seen and nothing compaired to Misty's.

I am not disapointed we did them (as everyone says this is the only time we can do this) but I am not as happy with them as I should be (especially for the price). I am sure you have made the right decission for both of you.

First of all Happy Anniversary!! I just saw that in your ticker!! How exciting! I hope you are doing something fun!!

Thanks for your opinion on the photoshoot. I know it is a "once in a lifetime" experience, but I also think that getting ready with my best friends before my wedding is once in a lifetime as well, and I think in the end, those memories will be more important!

I love love LOVE your ideas Karen!

The lanterns are such a cute idea! And those shoes....AHHH! I am such a shoe lover, it's not even funny! :goodvibes

the shoes are super cute! Yay for your veil coming in. I know it was a hard decision on the MK photos, but you'll still have tons of amazing Epcot pics and pretty much everything with a wedding is once in a lifetime, so sometimes you just gotta pick what you want most. I'm glad you're going with the lanterns! I think they will be great!

Thanks:goodvibes I am so excited about the shoes! And ya, I think we will have so many pics from Epcot that MK isn't really necessary. Plus, I got my BEO yesterday, and it is a bit more than I wanted, and it doesn't include floral, so I need to bring some prices down!

I have ot just tell you that i LOVE your veil. I think its so beautiful and i can't wait to see how it'll look with your dress!

The lanterns are a great idea, you could have them at all your locations which saves money and all your locations are so different but that would carry on a theme.

Thanks you:goodvibes I want to go pick up my veil now, but apparently it won't be at the post office until 1:00 pm, and I have class than...I'll have to wait to later tonight. And I won't be able to see it with my dress for another 3 or 4 months!!!

Thanks:goodvibes I am not sure if I want to use them at Sago Cay, since I think I may try and do a more formal theme there...but we will see!!!

I am having a lot of trouble figuring out how to decorate the Attic. I know most people don't, but we are such a small group, that we were planning on using just the outside area, since there are more tables, and the buffet is set up there anyway. Here is a pic of what I am taking about (although I am sure most of you know)
Attic.png

I think using just this area will work better, since it would be kind of crowded with all of us inside, plus, if the weather is nice, we will want to be outside enjoying it. The only thing is, the outside is a little more plain than the inside. I can't decide if I should try and make it look more dressed up, or just keep it really plain, and really spruce up our dinner?

Anyway, here are a few ideas I had for the Attic

-use pink and blue alternating tablecloths, and use lantern centerpieces (assuming there are some in gold)
-use champagne/gold tablecloths, lantern centerpiece, and scattered rose petals around
-use just lanterns on each table, no petals or tablecloths
-use nothing on the tables, and have lanterns around cake table and buffet table (and perhaps scattered petals).

I would really appreciate help with this since I am sooo confused on what to do!! I'll ask my BM's as well, but I don't know if they really get the set up of the Attic, so I am hoping for more disbride opinions!!!

What do you mean by formal?

Don't think I like the idea of pink/blue tablecloths, might bee too much with the green chairs. I do like the idea of the champagne/gold though, I think this would look lovely with the lanterns on. Petals would be nice around them I think.

I think by more formal maybe I meant a more "elegant" look to go with the GF backdrop (I'll post my inspiration pic later and I think that will better explain what I mean)

Oh, I totally didn't know those chairs were green until I looked harder! Good call!! I don't want it to look like easter!

Thanks!

I am glad you were able to come to a decision you and your DF are comfortable with concerning MK Shoot. Now I must admit: I love your lantern idea and MUST USE IT! :goodvibes

Thanks:goodvibes Okay, if you like it that much, it must look good!!!

So I went and picked up my veil today, and it is gorgeous!! The only problem is that the comb came separate, and I don't really know if I should sew it on, or glue it?

I'm still trying to figure out what to do for decor with the Attic...I heard back from one of my bm's but she was a bit vague. I was hoping for more opinions on here, so if anyone has any opinions, I would love it if you could share it!

I didn't have any tableclothes on the tables outside and I thought it looked great. Here is a picture. I did have flowers but I think if you have the lanterns with the petals around it the tables would look really dressed up and beautiful. I also put our favors on the tables.

Just try and picture your lanterns on there instead! :rotfl:

I also wanted to show you how they set up the buffet. The only thing I requested was a few petals and silver mickey confetti. They added the rest free of charge. I thought it looked great and I didn't have to pay for it!

I agree with Toni! I loved how her outside tables came out. If you can avoid the linens i would. I think putting a lantern as the centerpiece with maybe a few scattered petals would look really pretty.

Oh yea and i want to see the inspiration pic you have for your DP at SCP!

Wow! Thanks so much! I have seen your pics before, but I don't think I saw the outside table so close up, it really helps! I think the tables are so nice that I wouldn't want to cover them up. I really love your set up, I wonder if I could do the same, with the lantern in the middle, and the votives in blue and pink instead of petals? I wonder if petals would really stay on the tables..humm, something to bring up in my phone call!

Thanks for the advice!! I agree, and it should save some money too:goodvibes

Okay, I'll post my SC decor ideas...they are quite more elaborate than a DP though, since this is an actual sit down dinner! I'll go upload the pics...BRB!

Here is my idea for Sago Cay. Because it is a dinner, and not a DP, we are having one big long roman table, as opposed to the smaller dp rounds that are normally set up. I decided since it is at the GF, and it is really the most formal part of the day. I really want to dress it up! I found the PERFECT inspiration pic that someone (can't remember her name) posted on the DFTW open house link. Here it is:

sagocaydec.jpg

The colours are almost perfect if you change the purple petals to blue :rotfl: I really hope they have the linens in a size to fit the roman table. My only worry is that I think this is a "couture" look, since it is used on those pages on the disney wedding site, so I am scared it may cost a fortune! The only part I really want to be sure I have is the tablecloth and napkins, the pink around the napkins, the scattered petals, and the smaller votives. I don't need the chargers, special silverware, rose petals, or huge candle holders. I also don't know if those chair covers would fit over the chairs provided, but that isn't a huge issue anyway!

So, in conclusion, I really love this look, and hope it is affordable and works in my location with my table style! :goodvibes

Ooh I love that!! And I love the idea of a Roman table. When we were thinking about WHP that's what I wanted (not that it would fit, lol). YAY!!
