Boardwalk Bride's PJ Morocco/Canada/Attic/SCP updates 01/09!!

I would just be worried that I'd be exhausted the rest of the day...I like my sleep, so I'd vote for sleeping in. ;)

It really only makes an hour difference, since we are going to do the Epcot ones either way, but even an hour is often helpful when it comes to sleep! It's more about whether or not we actually need those photos. We aren't having a "fairytale" type wedding....so I think the photopass pics of us might be good enough!

I think that since you're using DPS already for your ceremony why not just chance it and take the MK pics too. They are a once in a lifetime chance and who wouldn't love one pic in an empty park in front of the castle or the caroussel? It's a magical thing!

Think about it hard because you don't want to look back and wish you had done it.

I cancelled our MK pics, it was just too much money for pics that might not turn out that great, I think we'll still have enough unique photos that they won't be missed.

I totally agree with both of you, which is why I cannot make up my mind! I'll definitely have to wait longer before I make up my mind!!!

My appointment with Rosie is coming up soon for floral and decor, so I'll try and post some of my ideas ASAP!

I say do it. It is one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences. :thumbsup2 Maybe that is too extreme, but it is only allowed for those who get married at Disney. You are using DPS any way so I would say add this to your joyful event. I know it's a personal decision, but you can always schedule it on another day or as someone suggested on another post, you have up to one year to do it. :goodvibes

I know with the inconsistency of DPS, it's not worth $1000. I reason even if a picture is bad, I will remember the experience of being at the castle, with no one around, just my Husband and I and there isn't a monetary value I can place on how priceless that is. That alone for me is worth $1000+++++.

Good luck in whatever you decide!

Thanks for your opinion! I really don't know what to do. I keep thinking back to last christmas when DF and I went to WDW, and I remember being so much more in love with Epcot than MK, and DF as well. But at the same time, being there in a wedding dress would be pretty magical....this is definitely going to require more thinking!

Now that it is getting closer to our date and my appointment with Rosie, I have started to put together some ideas for floral and other decor. Here are the ideas I have so far for the ceremony!

Bouquet (same one Mandy posted that I love)
mybouquet.png

(I'm hoping to get it in blue and pink lavender with champagne ribbon)

Bout:

(Not sure what colour the ribbon should be, I'll wait until we figure out what colour ties they will have)

Aisle decor: I have a few different ideas:

The first is wheat bouquets ties around the benches, not sure how I feel about this

The herbs that I wanted before, although now I am thinking the colours are not right at all:

I really like the idea of rocks/petals, not sure if disney can do this

I also really like the idea of lanterns lining the aisle, which I could transfer to the Attic for centerpieces

What do you ladies think? I still need to find ideas for the Attic and Sago Cay, but one thing at a time is enough for me!!

the bouquet and bout are so unique and will go so well with your theme. I really really love the lanterns! And I think they would be great at the Dessert Party. I'm not sure they would go with the decor in the attic, but maybe they could add some floral around them to soften them a little, like a ring of flowers around the base?

I really like the idea of the lanterns. It is different. I have never seen them lining the aisle. Very pretty. I also think they would go with the Attic. I agree maybe sprinkle some flower petals around them would soften them up a bit.

Hey, I just wanted to weigh in on the MK photo shoot. This was my rationale for not doing it:

First of all, $1000 is a lot for photos that might be ok. And it's more than $1000 because you have to pay for hair and makeup again. Unless you do it the morning of the wedding. But that's crazy to me. My ceremony was at 2:30 and I wasn't about to get ready at 4:30am for a couple of pictures.

Second thought is that you are going to have a million pictures from the ceremony and reception. You will have plenty of pictures to blow up, put in an album, scrapbook with, put on a bookcase, whatever.

Thirdly, and this is just personal opinion...I know that if I ever showed them to someone the first questions is "oh did you get married in the castle?!" In fact, most people who know nothing about Disney assumed that when I said I got married in Disney World. The Magic Kingdom had nothing to do with my wedding. At least with the regular pictures I could say "Oh, so this is where the dessert party was, and oh in this one you can see Sea Breeze Point in the background," etc. An analogy maybe would be if I got married in Wrigley field and had the reception in a Wrigleyville bar and then the next day took some pictures in front of The United Center :confused3.

Thanks for the advice:goodvibes I think the lanterns would look great in Morocco as well!

LOVE IT ALL!!! I like the idea of lanterns!!

Thanks Toni:goodvibes I'm glad you think they would go with the Attic! I'm going to trust your opinion seeing as how you have actually been there :rotfl: I think your both right on softening them up with some petals, I can't afford actual flowers to go with them.

Thanks for your point of view!! I really wanted to hear both sides of people who did and didn't do it, to help make a decision! So many of our friends and family are so clueless about disney and our wedding plans there, that if they saw the castle pics, they would def assume that is where we got married.

In terms of waking up early on our wedding day, we already have to anyway, since our ceremony is in Epcot. And we will see each other anyway, since we are not doing the traditional separation (we will have lived together for 3 years as of our wedding date, so I just thought it was pointless :rotfl:) When you compare $1000 to what you are already spending, it doesn't seem like a lot, but when you look at it on it's own...yah, it is a lot for pictures!

We are both def leaning towards not doing it for now!! An extra hour of sleep is still appreciated! (and an extra $1000 to spend on our married life)

I agree i LOVE the lanterns! I think it works well with canada and they would look lovely as centerpieces for the attic! Your wedding is going to be amazing! :goodvibes

Aww thanks :goodvibes I think lanterns are the easiest and cheapest thing to do, and DF LOVES lanterns, and I think they are pretty as well.

BTW---I think every DFTW is amazing!!

I really like the lantern idea. It's more different than the traditional petals.

As for the pics, I'm pro-MK shoot. We're having one and it's one of the things both DF and I are totally excited about. I know sometimes the pics don't turn out great, but I feel like how many times will I be able to do this. I agree with PrincessShea about that point, but at the same time, to me Disney is the whole shebang...all 4 parks together, and I'd like to have them all involved in my wedding. We really want to do MK with DHS...we're big SW fans and I hope the Star Tours set with be open because we'd love to have pics of us there. I know everyone says you can go back whenever you want to do the MK shoot but I doubt I'll drag myself back into the wedding dress, and if I'm wearing normal clothes I can do that in the park. That being said a year from now I could get my pics and be terribly disappointed and angry and out $1300, but that's a chance I'm willing to take. Whatever your decision is I'm sure it will be the right one for you and DF.

Thanks for your opinion...now I am totally confused :rotfl: I agree with you, if I had the money, and I guess the extra time in disney, I would love to do all the parks, and maybe even throw in a water park :rotfl: I'm just not sure it is really "us" to have a picture of a castle hanging in our house, but it could be one of those things that I wish I had done a few years later. Ugghh! Tough decision for me!

Thanks:goodvibes I like the idea of herbs as well, I am going to see if I can find any lighter pictures, with less purple!

Sorry to make the decision harder for you. It is a really hard choice, because it is a lot of money. But then again, DF and I spend a lot of money on stupid things...that we should not spend. But I just can't NOT do it. I think you really need to think about where that money would go if you didn't use it for the pictures, what would you use it for? And then think which is a better use for the money.

I agree, I think that is a great way to look at it!

Small Update!

The flats I posted a few weeks ago that were coming out in preparation for the sex and the city movie came out today! I checked as soon as I woke up, and preordered the "carrie" pair right away! They go sooo well with our colours! Here is a reminder:

I also got a notice that my veil is in, but I can't pick it up until tomorrow. I am a little annoyed, since I have to pay duty on it (since it is from the states) and I wasn't made aware of that when I purchased it. The past few things I have purchased from Etsy/Ebay from the US didn't require payment....oh well. Here is the one I went with:

For the ceremony decor, we are definitely going to ask for lanterns for the aisle, and probably a few petals. I don't think we are going to do any alter arrangements or anything else.

I also think we came to a conclusion on the MK portraits......we are most likely not going to do them. Most people who get married in Disney get married there because they are disney fans. We have only been to disney twice, once as small children, and once last christmas, so I don't think it really means that same to us as most other brides. We are completely obsessed with Epcot though, so we will be sure to still do those!!

Alright, I still have Attic, DP and Sago Cay meal decor to go...I'll be back with more ideas :goodvibes
