I was wondering if anyone else did any impulse buying today. I did. I had seen a refrigerator in an ad on Thursday that looked unbelievable, so I went online last night to check it out. Ended up buying all new appliances!!!

I had been kicking around the idea of a new refrigerator, but since I wanted a stainless steel, French Door style with icemaker on door, etc. and the cheapest I'd seen was around $1500, I wasn't in a big hurry! I actually had my eye on one that hadn't gone below $1,800 and thought if the price dropped low enough, maybe I'd go for it. Well, I ended up with a fridge (I did end up with a 25 cu. ft, instead of a 28 cu. ft. but my current is 21 cu ft.) a double oven gas stove (very excited about this!), dishwasher and OTR microwave (everything stainless, delivery, tax and haul away included) for $2500! Full retail plus tax would have been $4,600. So, while I wasn't planning on parting with the cash, I can't wait for my new stuff to come on Friday! They're also moving my current fridge to the basement for me.:yay:

yes have been debating all day on an Ipad, we don't need it, the girls would like it but they already have touches. The Ipad is roughly the same price as the girl's gymnastics camp this summer. Also, I keep thinking for a few hundred more, I could get a Mac laptop which IMO would probably be money better spent.

And it is still sitting in my Best buy cart. decisions, decisions

Good for you! =) We got all new appliances too, fridge, dishwasher and washer and dryer but I gotta wait till they get the house built to use them, it's stressing me out!! I want to use that beautiful fridge  I got the 4 door french door Samsung one. :cloud9:

My impulse buy was an $8 Ninjago shirt for DS8 so I can't complain about that :rolleyes1

The cd WOW Hits 2012 deluxe edition. I have been eyeing it for a week in a catalog. Did some online shopping and bought it. :woohoo: So sad it won't ship till December 5th! :scared1:

The 2 disc DVD for Inglorious Basterds for 5 bucks at Wal-Mart, totally random find but a happy find!

Me too! I booked a trip to Disney for Easter after I already am surprising the kids with a Disney cruise for Christmas. Was afraid that I was going to lose somewhat decent airfare - so I pulled the trigger! Now I'm having buyer's remorse (wrong time to be putting out the money for another trip when I haven't paid the current one yet, although the money is accounted for). We are not big shoppers/spenders, so I'm sure all will be fine - but I usually don't impulse shop so it's scary!

OP - great deal on the appliances by the way!

I have this same fridge and love it. I've had mine since the spring.

WOW That is an amazing deal on those appliances. Last year I spent $3000 on a new fridge that sounds like the one you bought and a stainless steel ceramic top stove (no gas or double oven) and those were both on sale plus no tax or delivery. Great deal OP:thumbsup2

Seriously though...where did you get that deal? We're about to plop down $1000 just for a dishwasher. I'd prefer stainless, but am going with white because I don't want to change out the rest of the appliances. Maybe I would if it were a great deal.

We bought all new appliances too yesterday, but it was definitely not impulse. It was my husband talking about it for over a year, and me finally saying "If this is what it takes to get you to shut up, let's do it."

We spent $3500, but that was for refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, and washer/dryer.

Usually when I shop on Black Friday, I buy a lot of stuff for myself like work clothes, shoes, etc. The prices are so good and I don't usually shop for myself!

This year I did mostly online shopping, so I pretty much stuck to my list for the kids.

I just went to Penneys for the free snow globe but also ended up impulse buying some new appliances. Only mine were a new toaster oven and a waffle iron, total less than $30. So not quite in the same category!

We got a new fridge too - also the Samsung 4 door french door one - it was $2,999 down to $1799 at Lowe's

I'm so excited I've never had a new fridge before! Going to CL the old one :-)

We ended up with new furniture. Sofa, loveseat, and chair. We have been wanting furniture for a long time now. We have a used loveseat from my DH's grandma and 2 old rocking chairs in our family room. I'm going to be so happy to get rid of that old stuff! We actually threw out our old couch this past summer even though we had nothing to replace it because it was in such bad shape.

Still we weren't planning on new furniture yet. We were thinking probably next year. After we saw a black friday ad in our paper we spent all morning yesterday researching furniture online. We spent over 3 hours in the store looking at the set we wanted. We considered other sets, and in the end came back to the original one we wanted. I kind of felt bad for the salesman because we were taking so much of his time!

I only WISH I could have gotten new appliances yesterday ! My oven seriously needs to go .. it cooks everything way too fast, almost ruined my holiday turkey. :(

Anyway I DID go shopping yesterday and didn't really go off my list as far as impulse buying but I did grab a few pairs of new jeans for my twins and a Hot Wheels track for $20. But that's not too bad considering I could have bought SO much more !!

My only BF impulse was getting a $50 kodak to replace the one that is wearing out. I did get DD an easel set but that was planned. Oh and I got her some shirts for school next year, Zulily has layer Disney ts for $8.99 and they are cute! But that was this morning and sooooo doesn't count.

Home Depot. They still have the sale today. What sealed the deal for me was that if you buy 4 appliances you get another $200 off (or $50/2, $100/3)and free delivery. Also, on Thursday night, there was a coupon code out there that took another $70 off. I couldn't get my purchase to go thru online, so I ended up going into the store on Friday. They gave me the $70 off as a courtesy. The coupon code is no longer valid. If you have a HD credit card, there is some free financing available. I almost applied for one to get that too, but decided not to.

These are not all top of the line appliances. Been there, done that. I definitely made some concessions. I had been thinking I'd need a fridge and microwave soon and they would cost me around 2K and I had the same dilemma with currently having white appliances. I realized that in 8 years time: this will be my 3rd dishwasher, my stove has been repaired twice, and my microwave hasn't been performing well for a very long time. My fridge is 10 years old and still good, just small because it came from our old house with a tiny kitchen. So, we'll see how these hold up!

Oh, and thank you everybody for all the "congrats", etc! Never know what kind of response your gonna get here!:goodvibes

We bought all new appliances from Lowes. The sale last until Monday the 28th if anyone is still interested. I bought all Samsung except for the dishwasher which was Kitchenaid.

I bought a new serger sewing machine and can't wait to use it....after I get my sweet DH to thread it!:confused3
