Does anyone remember from last year the price range of laptops....thinking of getting one for DSalmost11 for homework and ESPN surfing

Really need something basic...he's not much of a computer gamer and isn't into picture taking.

Just downloaded the black friday app for my phone. How cool is that?! It has estimated leak dates for all the ads. I am hooked on looking at the leaks!

Is it free? I always go to jcpenneys and get my mickey mouse globe. I have all of them. and the great thing also about black friday I'm leaving the next day for a week at disney world.can't tell I'm excited huh? LOL

Was in Walmart today and some official looking people were walking around and pointing at various areas. I overheard one say "we could stack a pallet here" and I knew he was talking about Black Friday. I wanted to follow them around the store but DH wouldn't let me.

The funny thing is, I don't shop at that Walmart on BF, I go to the one about 20 miles away that is closer to my sister!!!

I'm so excited I can't wait!!!!

I'm getting excited, I can't wait for ads to start showing up online. I think this year is for sure the year of the tablets and I think we will probably be looking for one of those for my niece so I am expecting us to go out and line up earlier than we ever have before.

Siting in line outside of your first store, talking to people, watching all the crazies, planning your strategy, and just having fun... can't wait!

Hmmmmmm.....tablets. Now you've made me wonder what my DS 11 would get more use out of, a tablet or the ipod touch? Any ideas from fellow DISers? He already has a netbook that he absolutely loves so maybe a tablet would just be more of a "duplicate" for him?

It probably depends on your child, my niece just turned 13 and she has a laptop and a ipod (nano) and her mom thinks she will use a tablet more than she would an ipod touch and I tend to agree with that. It just depends on what you think your son would like and would get use out of it. I guess if he doesn't have an ipod (any kind) then that would be the thing he'd use more, but if he does have a working ipod I'd certainly go for the tablet.

Tablets are just really big right now, with everyone it seems, so I am suspecting some good sales on a variety of different types of tablets and possibly e-readers too.

I have this years big ticket item. Because we travel I noticed that DH takes great pictures. I would love to get him a good camera like the Canon Rebel or something in that line. I am watching Amazon Deals now to see if something comes up.

I love to go shopping on Black Friday. It's a girl thing for us because I also go with my mom & sister and we let our girls with us. We shop and eat!! :Last year they had a blast sitting in line at Walmart for 5 hours for iTouches. Kids are weird.

This year it's looking like I will be buying three iPads. I'm sure I wont find a good deal on them, but it would be nice if I could. Maybe a free case or something? Anything would help.

Last year (on Black Friday) I bought a Macbook Pro (full price) at Best Buy and I received a free $125 Best Buy gift card. It sucks that Apple doesn't discount their products...you might have better luck shopping at Best Buy like I did.

I would have used my free gift card to purchase more Christmas gifts, but the cashier said we could put it towards buying an extended warranty for the laptop, so that's what we did.

The few I have clicked on say Black Friday Nov 26th which was last year. The ones I checked out are from 2010, not 2011.

Last couple of years we've not really been in the market for anything "big", but the wife and I go out just for the fun of it. We consider it the true kickoff to the holiday season.

This year we're in the market for a TV.
