Black friday buddies 2010 unite! BACK FROM THE TRENCHES POST YOUR WAR STORIES!

Does anyone know what time Target opens on Sun. for this sale?

Any one in the know or on rumor patrol for the Apple store? I'm curious if the deals will be close to what they were last year (25% off iMac's, 30% off iPod's, etc.). Any word on the street? :rolleyes1

Thanks,
Heather

I believe Target will have one for $85 on BF. If I remember correctly, it is a Phillips 7" dual screen.

HTH

This is a pretty good deal also. I actually bought some used dual TVs for my car and rarely use them; but I was looking into these before and that is a killer price.

Got a consumer reports in the mail last week and it had the 55 in vizio highly rated. Gave it their "best buy". The Bravia got slightly higher marks with a much higher price tag

Hmm...that gives me something to think about. My thinking though is since its pretty much the cheapest name brand is why its likely a "best buy".

The budget person in me wants to go for the Westinghouse because its $100 cheaper and $250 ish savings rather then about $100+gift card savings that Walmart Vizio is offering.

Anyone know how much an extended warranty goes for a $298 TV from Target?

Edit: Also anyone have positive/negative experience with extended warranty from Target? I was reading a lot of bad things and didn't see anything positive but I suppose that doesn't mean its all negative.

Right now Micheal's has $25 gift cards for $20.

Thanks much! Don't usually think about Michael's when it comes to giftcards. :goodvibes

Anyone heard if there will be high-end cameras on sale? I'm looking for a Nikon DSLR. Not sure what model, but given how $$ they are, a sale would definitely be sweet. :goodvibes

Great deal on the DSi. I'm tempted to get my son one. We had 2 DS Lites and one just stopped working and the other one got water damaged. :( Great gifts though! My kids loved them!

I'm hoping one of you experienced black friday goes could answer this for me. There are a few things I want from Walmart, all of the items are things that say "available all day Friday." Does this mean that the price goes into effect at midnight? Or do the sale prices start at 5am when the big sale starts?

Thanks,
Erin

For HDTVs, Blu-ray players, certain cable boxes/DVD players.

If you are into the HD experience, a single HDMI cable does the same function that 5 cables (red/white audio and red/green/blue) can do.

If you're using a coax or the yellow/red/white cables, it's time to upgrade.

Another question: if you are a technology know nothing , like I am, who can you get to hook this up for you? Are there places that do hook ups like this? I would need the stuff in my living room, and in the kid's bedrooms. I was hoping to get them each a dvd player with wifi this year so that they can stream from Netflix.
Has anyone seen a good sale on these dvd players? I would assume I need an HDMI cable for all of these.

It looks like Penney's is having their online preview BF ad removed...does anyone have a functioning link? TIA

ETA: Found it!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but some ad pages said midnight and others said 5-11... I guess you need to see wht page the item you were looking for is on.

Thats the way it looks atm...They are doing two sales. Seems like electronics will go on sale at 5am and most the rest at Midnight. I like that idea since last year I waited in line for a TV and PS3 and missed all the good movies for sale.

If you give ppl money they will generally do anything you ask of them. Everything has a price. :)

But yes Best Buy does do in home setups and I believe I saw yest that Target does as well. So good bet most ppl do. However I think a Google search of what your wanting to do would be better...Unless you are thinking of mounting a TV then you should get it professionally done.

Generally wifi is very easy to connect to. You rly don't need anyones help. Depending on the unit you will likely just go into setup and it will auto detect the wifi networks around you. If you have a pw on your network then it will ask you to put in your password and then itll automatically save and connect to that network.

Edit to finish question: As for the DvD player for netflix....Tbh I don't believe they have them. You would need a Blu-Ray player, gaming system, or roku box.(Someone can correct me if I am wrong but I haven't seen one able to do that). Roku boxes stream but do not play dvds. I think your best bet if you can get ahold of it would be the one from Walmart. Its a Magnavox Blu_ray with built in WiFi that streams Netflix for $69 on Black Friday. Second best deal is the Insignia from Best Buy for $89.

Whether you would need HDMI cable or not depends on what TV you are hooking it to. Are you using it for flatscreen HD tvs or the old Coax/Audio Vid Tube TVs? Also wanted to let ya know if you need HDMI atm I just picked up a two pack for $1.99 in case I ever need them - http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2394329

Do you know any teens? My sister is the same way and was waiting for my DH to get a day off to come over and do it for her. Meanwhile a buddy of my nephews showed up and had it hooked up for her in an hour.

Does anyone remember how last year Amazon had like a week of dvd's on sale for real cheap? It was a different set of movies each day. Any word on whether or not they are doing that this year?

I agree. Maybe a family member? But honestly I never found setting up a high def unit to be any more difficult than a regular one. You just need a different set of cables, basically. It's really easier than you're thinking it will be. I bet you can do it by yourself with no problems. :goodvibes

Anyone seen any good Amazon deals lately?? I remember last year Amazon started having deals and a website (I'm thinking it was gottadeal?????) posted long threads updated often with deals (was mostly toys, video games, movies, etc) Amazon had. Anyone seen anything like that?

I think Amazon is just so BIG....I don't know where to start looking there.

Gotta deal keeps a thread of Amazon Toy Sales but it's been slow!!! I started my own list

See my siggy for the link.

Right after Thanksgiving it takes off and the prices get insane. My son gets WAY too much because I can't pass up some of the deals. Good Mommy, bad financial behavior. LOL

If anyone is looking to purchase tag/tag jr books Target will have them in their 4 day sale for $9.99 each and they are buy one get one free. There is a $5.00 off coupon that you can print. I found link off of another site. YOu take a quick virtual test drive of a chevy car and fill out form and then can print the coupon twice. So if your store will let you use both coupons the books will be free if not then you can get two tag books for $4.99. I found the link in the Target Forum on hotcouponworld.

What are we seeing? My DS is almost 9 so he would use it for disney online games and club penguin ect. So nothing fancy but I want to get one that will function for longer than a few months. I saw the TRU one for 79.99 but it looks like the reviews are not that great. Is that the same one at cvs for 94.99 and kmart for 89.99? TIA!!!:goodvibes
