Adding 1 person to CRT reservation

Happily and very surprisingly my daughter’s second cousin is able to join us on our trip in September. I currently have reservations for Cinderella’s for breakfast for 7 and for 4. It’s sold out right now so I can’t add her, but I do have an alert set up.

It seems like it shouldn’t be hard to make the 7 an 8 - so if I get an alert there’s availability how much wiggle room do I have on the time? (Say it’s way later or way earlier than ours) Or should I get it no matter what time as long as it’s breakfast?

If nothing becomes available is it worth it to show up to our reservation and ask if she can be added then? I’m assuming there isn’t a 7 person only table, but I don’t know. Anyone have experience with this?

TIA!

Sometimes when restaurants are full they make a 6 top a 7 so there wouldn't really be any room for an 8th person. I'd try as you are doing to secure the 8th spot. On the other hand, you definitely could luck out and the 7 person table ends up having a free place.

So looking now there are plenty of options for a group of 4. I can make a reservation with another account but I only need 1 more person. If I choose 1 guest, no availability. Anyone know how to work this out?

1 adult with 3 ghost babies?

Is there availability for 2? Then there would only be 1 ghost baby.

Book two tables for 4, then cancel the table for 7. Go by restaurant as soon as they open and see if they can seat your tables close together.

Sounds like a fun table lol! There is not availability for two but I will totally do this if it opens. My husband will take one for the team if we can’t end up getting it. But I’m a little worried because the last time I left him alone in MK (many years ago) he ate the whole family style lunch at Liberty by himself…

I’m definitely considering this option, I just planned and worked so hard for that table for 7 I’m so annoyed to maybe have to do this. Thank you!

Have you actually called to ask if the CM can add the extra guest? They may be able to do an override. Or maybe not, but it’s worth a call to ask. Or they maybe able to book the 2 4 tops with a traveling with note.

Also, the restaurant is rather small. There are many more 4 tops than 8 tops there. And you already have 1 of those booked, so less chance of an 8 top showing up for a new booking.

If you do book the 2 4 tops & cancel your 7, go back in immediately after cancelling & see if the 8 tops shows up. If your table is really an 8 top, it might show back up & you might get lucky to grab it again.

Yes I’ve done that chat on the app twice. I’ve actually completely lost my voice again from Covid 2 months ago so I can’t call, but I’ll make my husband do it if the CM’s on the phone have more authority than the one’s on the chat. The first CM actually told me it was completely sold out when I asked to switch to two 4 tops. A couple hours later is when I saw there were 4 tops and I did the chat again with a new CM. Booking the two 4 tops and then seeing if the 7 switches to an open 8 is a good idea.

I don’t know if they have more authority, but they may have more knowledge of how to help. On the phone you get specific dining line CMs. My impression is the chat is more general CMs. I could be wrong tho, who knows. Good luck.

@focusondisney Booking the two 4s then going back and getting the 8 worked! I was pretty sure cancelling the 7 would give me the 8 but I didn’t want to risk it, so booking the two 4s first was perfect. Thank you! Voice still isn’t good enough to make a phone call work.
