I tend to get caught up in the moment and overspend, so it's important for me to stick to a list of sorts with wiggle room for those too good to pass up deals.
I frequent the BF boards and collect all flyers when they come out. I compile a list of the items I want and what store they are at. I have a handwritten list of items, price & store.
Items that are listed at Meijer I put in my cart at
Walmart while everyone else is waiting in line for the gameboys, etc. Then I wait by the less popular door busters [coffee maker $5, etc.] and grab what I want and proceed to check out while it's deserted because everyone else is now running around frantic.
I then head over to Meijer and grab the items that were at Walmart [like Gameboy] and other items that might be left and buy them.
I also price match from Target or any other store flyer that has brands carried at either location.
I find that Kohls doesn't have many great deals. Those digital cameras, etc. that they have, I wouldn't want to buy.
Home Depot, Menards, Office Max & Staples are also on my list to hit.
Remember Walmart & Meijer will price match
Best Buy too. So the videos and CDs can be purchased there.
Best Buy typically is a nightmare. People have had good luck online with Best Buy. I would like a new computer this year so I'm fearing the Best Buy issue and will be checking that out.
I purchased 80-90% of my Christmas on Black Friday last year.
I buy decorations, bath products, kid make-up kits, etc. the day after Xmas. The best deals I found were at Home Depot [Disney Xmas Trees, Ornaments, lights etc.] the day after and Target a couple days later [they mark them down each day].
