WEIGH TO GO!!!! you should be very proud of yourselves, I am!!

mousehouse -- :thanks: for the encouragement....starting day 3 back OP and i've been journaling. normally day 3 is much harder for some reason for me, i have spinning this afternoon so that should keep me eating in check --

Melanie--- i keep thinking of August and pictures and sitting down at a restaraunt without having to fix my wedgie b/c my shorts are already tight and i haven't even eaten!! remember how proud of feel looking back at pictures and liking what you see? dig deep for that recollection and draw strength from it..... remember how great it is to walk around the parks without tugging on the waistband, dig deeper....i know you have it in there.......

to the rest of our losers this week...cyber high fives :cheer2:

who watched BL last night? I have it recorded, will try to get to it later today. i have gotten to the point where i FF so much of it with all the repeated clips/recaps after every commercial and imo too much video watching them workout. why do they treat us like we're idiots and can't follow the program? I'd love to see it go back to 1 hour and take out all the blabbering that Allison does...sorry, not a fan or hers. ok, i'm done....sorry bout' that :rolleyes1

Melanie-:grouphug:Sorry you have been struggling, but remember you are not alone. Sounds like yesterday was a good day, and today can be too. I loved your description during the last challenge of falling out of the wagon, and it sounds like you are almost back in the wagon, and you can get back in and stay there. Sometimes we are hanging off the back dragging behind, but so long as we don't give up, we will get back on track, and stay there. Hang in there.

lisah0711- SNOW- UGH, go away. Hope you didn't have to shovel. It's been cold enough to snow lately, but we haven't seen a flake. Hope that's the last for you too.

mousehouselover- Thanks for the kind words. It's so true about breaking habits, and I always find it amazing that even if it's been weeks or months of doing something healthy, that it is easy to fall back into the old bad habits. The goldfish are gone, because I had finished them off the other night.:rotfl:I was on track all day yesterday, with healthy plans for today. Congrats on your Easter celebration. Sounds like you made lots of healthy changes. It is the little things that add up. I brougth the green bean casserole on easter, but also brought plain green beans and I stuck with those.

Whoo hoo!! Congratulations MickeyMagic our green team biggest loser!! Congrats to the other top 5!!!! You are doing awesome!!

Thanks Jessi for tallying all the stats.

Good morning, Greenies!

Congratulations to the purple team and the biggest losers!

I will be the coach for the next week or so while Tammy heads off to her well deserved stamping retreat. Thanks, Tammy, for being our team captain and keeping us all on track.

I am on Pacific standard time so even though I will try and post first thing in the morning it may seem late to you folks on the east coast.

Hey everyone,
I've just been struggling so much. Just yo-yoing is all I'm doing right now. I've been OP today though. Gotta keep this momentum going. One step at a time.

:grouphug: MelanieC, you've been doing great since this started. We are all going to hit bumps in the road and just have to keep going. You have the right idea with one step at a time.
ohMom, I have never seen an episode of BL -- hearing your descriptioms makes me glad that I haven't!

lisah0711- SNOW- UGH, go away. Hope you didn't have to shovel. It's been cold enough to snow lately, but we haven't seen a flake. Hope that's the last for you too. Thanks Jessi for tallying all the stats.

No, Kathy, we didn't have to shovel, although I could have used the exercise no doubt!

Thanks also to Jessi for being the weightkeeper.

Which brings me to the QOTD.

What is your favorite Disney restaurant and what do you like to eat there? Will that change as a result of your new healthier eating plan?

My favorite Disney restaurant is Napa Rose at DL and Jiko at WDW. I love the african sampler at Jiko and just about everything else at both places. I will still enjoy my favorite restaurants at my favorite place but will make sure that the rest of my eating stays on track and treat myself at my favorite.

Have a great day all!

Major congrats to our green team for doing as well as we did this last week! :thumbsup2
I've been away for a few days (busy and in a bit of a funk) and I must say that I do much better on the days when I can come here to read what the rest of you are saying--thank you so very much for your being here!!! :grouphug:

QOTD - What is your favorite Disney restaurant and what do you like to eat there? Will that change as a result of your new healthier eating plan?

This is a hard one for me... except for our grand gathering trip last Sept during Free Dining--we are a take our own snacks into the park and 1 meal at a CS kind of people. So my favorite meal from last year's trip was our Grand Safari buffet (loved the chance to try so many different things)--though our lunch for 14 at Prime Time 50's was right up there for the atmosphere (and the tasty comfort foods). On previous trips I had a tradition with one of my best friends to get lunch (just the lobster bisque and a salad) at Coral Reef - cause we both love the ocean.

At DLR - the one 'restaurant' that we always go to for lunch or early dinner is the Golden Horseshoe--so we can have the chili in a bowl and watch Billy Hill and the Hillbillies. We have also been known to share that 7 layer chocolate cake.

So - I guess the restaurants aren't as much for the food as they are for the atmosphere and those that I am with--creating those memories and traditions that mean so much to me at Disney.

Thanks, Lisa, for being our coach this week! Good luck everyone with good choices and the little steps--each one taking us closer to our goals - whatever they might be :)

:) Liz

Just have a minute for a quick check-in. I did a quick scan on the posts. I just love how our group is so encouraging to each other, it is just a positive place to come!!

WTG green team losers, you did a great job last week.

Thanks lisah0711 for pitching in a few extra days this week, I really appreciate it!!

Finished the taxes, got the returns, payments and estimates mailed in. The van is 85% packed for the stamping retreat (feels like I packed the whole house:)), laundry is caught up and now I can breath. I enjoy these retreats but have to admit I enjoy them more when I'm not the one planning and being responsible for them:).

I have to drive back into town Saturday to help dd for the prom then will drive back to the retreat. This one has been planned over a year ago and when they announced the prom date, there wasn't anything I could do but make the best of it all.

I may try to pop in and out while I'm away. It will help keep me accountable to my green team. This place provides all meals and the last time we went I did very well in asking for smaller portions, no sweets, lots of salads and loads of water so that is my plan again this trip. I already have two walking buddies committed as well for the weekend.

Stay strong green team, let's have some great weigh in numbers this week!!

tammy -- have fun!! need any more photos to keep you busy :rotfl: ?? your plan sounds impressive, especially the no sweets part! we'll be expecting a full report when you get back or if you have a moment there...

:thanks: again lisa0711 for coaching -- i need accountability in a bad kind of way

QOTD: What is your favorite Disney restaurant and what do you like to eat there? Will that change as a result of your new healthier eating plan?

actually this is ironic, i'm in the process of determining our TS ADRs for our Aug trip. i'm a TOTAL foodie -- love to cook, grill, bake, love Food Network, browse cookbooks and allrecipes.com --- oddly enough that's not what kills me, it's the sweets! anyhow....Boma is may fav by a landslide..with that said we are only booking a breakfast there this trip. With the 4/7 package we were able to afford club level, and the lounge has Boma and Jiko appetizers, desserts, soups...on my goodness I'm in trouble! We are going to Citrico's to celebrate my DD's birthday, i've been there once and really liked it. I'm also looking forward to Artist Point for the first time. I'm the type that plans my ADRs then plans what i'm doing in the park between meals :thumbsup2 i could go on and on....i won't bore you any longer

tonight I grilled buffalo swiss mushroom burgers (from Whole Foods) and they were quite good. They sell the burgers so large, I buy two then make 3 patties from that. Also I grilled asparagus, green onions and mushrooms -- triple yummy!

ETA --- i didn't answer part 2 of QOTD, oopies. I prefer lean meats and am not a fan of starchy veggies like potatoes or corn. i'm considering asking that my food isn't cooked in a pound of butter, anyone do that at restaraunts? my plan is to force myself to 30 mins cardio in the morning, as often as possible especially on non-park days to keep the metabolism revved up

Congrats to my greenies!! way to go everyone this past week, and for those of us who gained or maintained or just fell off the wagon completely(Like Me):grouphug: here's a hug and tell yourself- just keep swimming!!

I have been having a decent week, I didn't get a chance to go to the gym but I did a huge shopping trip and it totally felt like a workout- that counts right?!? ;)

Ok, so I haven't had any computer time this week yet so here are my answers to the last few QOTDs.

Monday- I did my taxes the first week of Feb. got my refund and spent it all before Valentines day.

Tuesday- I love Illuminations: reflections of earth, it is just spectacular to me, I love the message of peace and harmony.

Wednesday- I have a tie for my two fave WDW restaurants. I love the Flame Tree BBQ in AK. I also love the Rose and Crown pub and dining room in UK at Epcot- the potato leek soup is great and the steak and fish entree I like that too but the best reason is the front row show to Illuminations!!

Hope everyone's week is going great!!

Kim

Good evening, Greenies! Hope that everyone had a great day.

Liz, sorry to hear that you've been in a funk lately. We all get that way sometimes and you know where to come to get that "good funky" feelin'. :hippie:

Tammy, have a safe trip and I am sure that your daughter will look beautiful for her prom on Saturday.

ohMom, sounds like you have a good strategy planned for your ADRs. I think that there is enough walking on any park day to take care of all but the most egregious food choices. I have heard the chefs are happy to work with you on requests.

Miniefan, I think any walking activity counts for exercise, especially shopping. :thumbsup2

mousehouselover, I love your new shaky, shaky avatar signature.

Have a wonderful evening all!

Good morning Greenies!

Love yesterdays qotd. I'm here because I love to eat. Crystal Palace is my favorite restaurant. I love the character interaction, but really love the food. We've done bkfst, lunch and dinner, and I think what worked best for us was to have an early dinner 4-5pm and have a light lunch/snack midday. I've been to wdw 3 times and always doing some form of ww, and all three times came back to weighin and only gained 2 pounds once. I do try to stay away from fried foods, and drink plenty of water while I'm there, but I definitely splurge every day. The walking helps so much. My problem with vacation is I come back, and then continue to eat in vacation mode, and so a week later, I have gained 5 pounds. If I came back, and got right back on the stick, I could prevent that gain.

Tammy- enjoy your stamping retreat. Too bad you have to drive back, but I bet your daughter will be so happy, and beautiful. Have fun.

Lisa- thanks for being our coach this week.

Happysmyly- hang in there. Hope you're getting up and out of that funk now.
I know what you mean about the restaurants being the atmosphere and great memories. 50s primetime was so much fun, we had such a great waiter when we ate there. We loved the hoop-dee-doo too, though the food was just ok, we had a blast. Oh my, I think I need to start planning another trip.

Molli- How fun to be planning your Adrs. We did the dining plan for the first time in jan, and I loved it. It was so much fun to plan. My son has food allergies, and at any restaurant we've eaten at, they've been wonderful with requests. I'm sure they would be absolutely fine with a request to limit the fats. Those burgers sound delicious. I've noticed the buffalo burgers at the store, but never tried them. Do they taste similar to beef?

Miniefan-I think shopping can count as exercise, unless it's on-line.;) Glad you're having a good week.

I'm doing well now, no more late night mindless eating. (of course I went to bed at 9 o'clock last night.)

Have a great day.

Good morning, Greenies!

Kathy, way to get yourself back on track and your body probably didn't mind a little extra shuteye. ;)

You may have heard about the Britain's Got Talent Show (similar to American Idol) contestant. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lp0IWv8QZY This is a link to what I thought was an inspiring video where a middle aged, very ordinary woman named Susan Boyle surprises them all and really wows the judges with her beautiful singing. I don't usually watch this show but I might if it was this inspiring every day -- maybe I just relate so much because we are the same age.

Don't forget to pm your weight and COW tomorrow. Weight to Jessi (EeyoresButterfly) and COW to donac.

And speaking of the COW (I still giggle every time I see that), QOTD What nice thing are you doing for youself each day? Are you reading, mediating, painting your nails? And what other nice things could you be doing for yourself?

I consider taking some time to DIS in the morning before everyone gets up some me time. Also, this week I started wearing mascara again. I had not for a long time because it irritated my eyes. I found some organic mascara that seems to be working. I've had several compliments so apparently I was a little too frumpy without it.

I saw a number on the scale today that equals a loss if it sticks around for tomorrow's weigh in. I am keeping my fingers crossed my steps are going to equal a loss tomorrow.

Have a great day and good luck to all on the weigh in tomorrow!

Well, getting back to the board after all the activity of the week. Have survived...barely. Was freaking out because I had gained 2 pounds during the week and was thinking-- ok here we go-- this is the beginning of the weight all coming back, but of course I started my period the day after and lost that 2 pounds overnight. Not being on the pill anymore I forget about that dealie until it hits me.
So My birthday wasn't too bad, did go see a movie with Mom and had the free popcorn (no butter and together we only ate 1/4th of the bag) and diet soda, have been eating one small piece of carrot cake every morning for breakfast with a big glass of skim milk and it was gone today yay. Did eat a lot at Nachos but had some to take home and we went for a walk at a beautiful park that has tons of rhodies and azaleas etc. in the spring after dinner. Husband compromised and didn't get me a cake but instead stuck a candle in the remaining piece of carrot cake lol.
Did get my membership from husband for another 3 months at the pool- woo hoo. I figure it doesn't get hot here until mid July anyway, then I'll take a break until Oct. I really like to ride my bike so I do it a lot in the summer until it starts raining. Have been exercising at every opportunity and swam today. I'm sure tomorrow will show a maintain or even a gain but I'm back on track now. Thanks for your support. Watched the Bigggest Loser Tue, man are they looking good. I can't believe laura being sent home was even up for debate, an injury is an injury. I remember thinking that Jillians exercise seemed very high impact to me-- I don't do high impact I don't even do medium impact as a woman who has always been fairly heavy chested.
P.S. have the remains of the ham in the crockpot now, am making split pea with ham :)
P.S.S. Favorite place to eat in the park--I only go to Disneyland and we mostly eat in our room but I enjoyed whitewater snacks at the Grand Californian the one time I officially ate there-- beef nachos mmm. Also loved visiting the kitty there the other time when I just had my beef jerky and dried fruit. (she enjoyed my jerky very much)

Good Evening everyone. I can't tell you how busy I have been since last Friday. I did finish the quilt for my inlaws but my mil never put it on her bed when she got it. MY crazy sister in laws were ooh and ahhing about the back of it. BUt it is done and I gave ti to them.

Monday I finished my taxes and Tuesday I went back to school. On Tuesday I collected at least 3 assignments that the kids had do over spring break. I am still grading those and the marking period ends tomorrow and grades are due next Wed. Throw in all the students who have been out because they took an extra long break and I have been going crazy. I have been reading the posts but have not had time to answer all the QOTD. I also just tallied COW points for last week and am not ready to do another COW for this week.

Now for the stats for COW Week 1

I couldn't find the booty kicking smiley so KICK, KICK, KICK!!!!!
You can do this!! We can all do this. It's going to be a rollercoaster, with our ups and down, but as long as we don't quit, we will reach our goals. It takes time and perserverance. For me it is taking years, but I'm not going back ever to where I once was, no matter how long it takes. Hang in there girls. WE CAN DO IT! GET ON THAT WAGON!!

I stayed the same this week. Not surprised, could have been a gain. I need to really stick to my ww points, and exercise to lose at all, and I was not awful, but I was not totally on program.

a belated, party::bday:party: 50sJayne!! Hope you had a great day. Your husband sounds very supportive of your efforts. That's great.

Lisa- someone at work said that woman was amazing on the britains got talent show. Hope that scale made you happy today.

Yesterday's qotd- Pretty much my morning after I put my son on the bus is my me time. I usually make a cup of tea or coffee and come on here before work. I like to update this thread, and then I've been researching NYC. We are going next week for 3 days, and I love to plan vacations, even if we don't go. I have been doing some scrapbooking lately too.

Good luck everyone!! Hope everyone has a good weigin, but if you see a gain, don't be discouraged, get right back on the wagon, and start anew, and next week will be better.

Good morning, Green Team! Looks like we can all use a little support and "persuasion" (aka butt kicking) to get ourselves motivated again and back on track.

Susan, I am glad that you had a good b.d. celebration. It sounds like you had fun and got yourself right back in the wagon -- way to go! I like the Whitewater Snacks kitty, too. :goodvibes She is a cutie.

donac, a big, BIG thank you to you for keeping track of the COW points. You've had a very busy week, too, and I am sure that your inlaws loved the quilt -- sometimes people are embarrassed to use their gift right away.

MelanieC, I am dragging you back into the wagon and we'll do it over and over for you, we're here for you always. You've done so well before, I know that you can do it again.

Mikamah, I think that every week that I maintain, I am still ahead because I haven't gained. But I know that that needs to change to a loss.

We are about half way through this challenge and I went back to what dare2dream said at about this point last go round. She said:

That's YOUR number on the scale. Own it and do what you need to do to do something about it. Remember we are not here to be the Biggest Maintainer or the Biggest 'oops had a bad week'er. We are here to be LOSERS. Get to work and make it happen. You know you can do it. Love yourself today and continue your healthy lifestyle.

(Post 1527 from our old thread -- I did paraphrase the last sentence a little because it was just before Valentine's Day).

So the question of the day is How are you doing on reaching your goals for this challenge? What is working and what isn't and what are you going to do to meet help yourself meet that goal?

I am concerned because I don't know if I will make my goal this time. I didn't last round. I have a big, big goal that I need to reach by the end of the year and if I don't get myself moving that will not be happening. I have a pretty good idea what works and what I need to do. I need to religiously write down every thing that I put in my mouth and make sure I stay below my calories for the day. I need to make sure that I walk 10,000 steps a day even if I have to walk around the block over and over to get there. And, most of all, I need to remember that I deserve to have good health and do whatever it takes to make sure that I take care of myself as well as I take care of those I love.

Have a great day, Greenies! Don't forget the weigh in and COW today.

Good morning! Hope everyone is good this morning--I am determined to get out of this funk... WI was a wash--no loss but also no gain--so for a week of funk - I'm glad that it's no gain.
But what Lisa said is true and I need to get going if I am going to meet my goals. :cheer2: I can do this! We can do this! :cheer2:

QOTD - How are you doing on reaching your goals for this challenge? What is working and what isn't and what are you going to do to meet help yourself meet that goal?

I am a bit below the halfway mark at this halfway point. I am much more aware of what I am eating--including being very aware when eating treats. But there have been some small differences--choosing veggies or fruits over breads, for instance, at meal or snack--to make sure that I get the ones I need each day.
The exercise this week didn't work--I hurt my knee by overdoing it and so I've been hobbling this week--but am determined to get in my steps or 25 minutes of exercise--if my knee isn't working then I'll take that challenge and come up with something else where I can get sweaty and use my body for 25 minutes (even if I have to break it up into smaller time frames). I know that the exercise is the key to my success here--with the weight, but more importantly with the health - it's all related and the one affects the other.

I'm gonna make some visual reminders to put in different places around the house to remind me to make better choices--even little ones make a big difference :) Good luck, everyone, with this new week - a new week with no mistakes or bad choices (yet) in it :thumbsup2

:) Liz

Hello fellow greenies!!! I haven't had time to get on the board to post, but I will try to visit more often. I know how valuable all the support can be!

After having a big loss last week, I am up 1.6 pounds this week. It doesn't come as a surprise, having had a bad week with eating. I did fine with exercising, but eating has been out of control! It started last weekend with bad food choices, then add in Easter complete with desserts and Easter candy! I am trying to get back into the swing of things, but I keep eating Easter candy every day. I think everything I like is gone now, so maybe I can get past that!

I did get back to tracking things last week. Some days weren't pretty, but at least I wrote it down. This week I promise to make better choices and stay away from candy and desserts! I will keep up with the exercise and tackle this week's COW. Hopefully, that will lead to good results for next week's weigh-in.

Congrats to all the losers this week! And, to the rest of us, here's to better results next week!

How are you doing on reaching your goals for this challenge? What is working and what isn't and what are you going to do to meet help yourself meet that goal?

.
I went back and read what I had written. "I know I lose slowly, so my goal for this challenge is to continue to exercise 5 days a week, track all my food which is a huge help, and to get back in to the 180s, which is to lose 5.6 pounds. I also want to post regularly here and give back some of the support I've gotten from the last challenge." I have been exercising at least 5 days, and posting more regularly, but probably have been tracking my food about 50% of the time. I start the most days out good, and then in the afternoon or evening, I give up on it, and eat too much. I'm actually up .4 from my starting weight, so I have 6 pounds to lose. It's not impossible for me, if I can just stay within my points/calories consistently for more than a couple days. I need to write everything down, no matter what, and stay within my points.

We all can do this!! Have a great weekend everyone.
