BL 7.1 Green Team!!!

It's 11:30 PM my time and I'm really hungry! I want to pull out the cheetos sooo bad. I'm here to read your inspiring posts so I don't start snacking. I don't want to let you guys down. I'm down 2-3 pounds this week! Go Green Team! I hope everyone has a Happy Easter without Easter goodie temptations.

donac - Thanks for the new COW this week, it is important to remember to take some time for ourself but I know that I am bad about putting myself last, thanks for that reminder. I will have my pedometer on here in just a little while.:thumbsup2

Glad you're getting your new frig this weekend. They believe that replacing a part in the oven will fix the problem and hopefully the part will be in by lunch today so I'm hoping that I'll be back up and running for tomorrow.

QOTD-Pirates is probably my favorite but also like Haunted Mansion alot too.

ohMom - Glad you had a great time, can't wait to see more pictures, the trees looked beautiful!! Good for you for getting right back into the exercise, you'll be back to where you were in no time.

Mommy2ArmyBrat - Glad you came to the thread instead of the bag last night, good job on fighting off that temptation. Sounds like you are going to have a great loss this week!!:cool1:

Today is WI day, don't forget to send your number to the weight keeper and your COW numbers to donac. I haven't weighed yet this morning but hoping for a slight loss anyway, will report back in later.

I'm going to be in the craft room the biggest part of the day getting ready for a stamping retreat next weekend. I need to finish getting the samples and techniques together. I also hope to get a little stitching time in today too.

QOTD Friday - Do you plant a garden? If so, what are some of your favorites to plant. Do you plant enough to put some in the freezer for the winter time?

My FIL usually plants a small one here on the property and we get a few things here and there. However, this year, I want us to help out and plant a larger one so we'll have some veggies to put in the freezer. For things that we aren't going to grow, I'm going to try to buy locally and put those up as well.

Let's have a great day Green Team, can't wait to see how we did this week!!:cheer2:

Good morning everyone, and good luck with your weighins! Hope to see some nice losses to keep us all inspired over the holiday weekend. I am down 1.2 of what I gained last week. I forget who it was that said it goes on so easy, but comes off so slow. .4 to get back to starting weight for me, and I will do that next week. I'm really planning to stay in control on sunday. I'm a little behind this week.

Dona and Tammy, Good luck with your stove and fridge. I'm with you on the appliances. My washer broke sunday and it's only 6 months old! I'm so mad, it needs a new pump and was supposed to be in tues, but it's not yet. I will be so cranky if I have to spend my sat morning in the laundromat.
Question of the Day
What do you do for a living?

How does it help or hinder your weight loss?
.

I am a nurse in a busy endoscopy unit, so it helps that I am on my feet all day, and when I'm in recovery I'm literally walking the whole day. There is not much down time to sit around and snack. It hinders me because there is often candy and snacks that people have brought in, and we give the patients a snack before they leave, and I love the Lorna doones cookies, and find them very tempting.

Question of the Day
If you could stay at DW at no cost where would you stay?

IHave a good day. How is the COW coming for people?
I would stay at the contemporary. I love reading about everyone elses choices and why. AKL does sound pretty amazing too.
I'm doing pretty good with the cow. I do the watp videos in the morning, and counted steps for several minutes to get an average, and the range was 80-150 steps/ min, so I figured until I get a pedometer, I'll count a 30 min watp as 3000 steps. I want to get a pedometer and see how much walking I do on average at work.

Question of the Day
What is your favorite ride(s) in the Magic Kingdom?

.
I love so many rides. Splash mountain, peter pan, and Space mountains are probably my favorites.

Hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning everyone,
Have not been here in a while- having a tough time diet wise right now.Not on track at all and will not go near the scale.

Hope everyone is doing well and reaching their goals.

Have a happy Easter.

Linda

mikamah - Good going on your loss this week, that is great. Hope you get your washer fixed, that isn't the way to have to spend a Saturday.

momof2minnies - Sending you a :grouphug:. Take each day one at a time, try to make small changes instead of doing too much at one time and getting overwhelmed.

I was down .5 this week and I'm fine with that, sure I wish it was more but for that to have happened I would have needed to exercise more so I have no one to blame but myself.

I am the same as last week. That is okay since I have not gotten in as much walking as I wanted to. I will send that in later.

I am waiting for my neice to come. She wants a tutoring session in calc before she takes a big test next week.

We are supposed to go to the movies later to see Monsters vs ALiens. I want to go but it will cut into my quilting time. I was hoping to get this quilt to my inlaws on Sunday but I don't think that is going to happen unless I pull an all nighter which I never do.

Have a great day everyone.

donac thanks for being our coach last week and welcome back TammyNC!

I am stuck in maintaining mode. It's not so bad here but I sure would rather be in losing mode. I need to exercise, too, and its my own fault that I didn't. I'm still down 12.5 lbs. from January and that is better than the direction I was going so I will be happy with what I've done so far and renew my efforts to get things going down again.

QOTD Friday - Do you plant a garden? If so, what are some of your favorites to plant. Do you plant enough to put some in the freezer for the winter time?
We have an herb pot and plant some tomatoes. Our yard is a work in progress for the last ten years and we just haven't been to the gardening stage yet. Luckily we have a wonderful farmer's market that will start in a few weeks so we can enjoy the fruits of someone else's labor.

I use my freezer mostly for fruits from the farmer's market or even regular grocery store. We have a tendency to just eat the fresh veggies. Actually the store frozen vegetables are not bad at all these days.

Have a great day and good luck Greenies on the weigh-in today!

Good morning, everyone. Can't believe we're starting our 3rd week of this group--so cool!
I am happy to report that I am down 3 pounds for this past week--I was down 4 but had a day and a half of travel and too many bad choices... am definitely looking forward to the steps of this week helping me with the inspiration to get through the bad choices :)

QOTD - Forgive me while I share one of my passions with you... sorry if I go on too long with this one...
We definitely garden... Our ground here is icky - so we do it all in raised 'beds'--actually we use tires (which we get free from the local tire store). This year we are also using the tires to build some wind walls to help protect the garden from wind and bunnies and prairie dogs. To save water and make it easier on us we try to do it with drip irrigation as well (which is my job here...)
We plant enough to eat during the summer, to share with anyone who needs it and to preserve (dehydrate or pressure can or store in a cool dark place).

Last year was our first year here so we went with a 'small' garden--onions, potatoes (3 kinds), tomatoes (3 different kinds), dry beans (hutterite), and butternut squash. Oh - and we have a strawberry patch which didn't give much last year - but looks promising for this year. We also had rhubarb that didn't do well and raspberry that didn't give us anything.
This year - oh the list is long... we can't plant outside til end of May - so this weekend we are starting some plants inside...
For the 'orchard' so far we have planted (this year) 2 peach trees, 1 mulberry and 4 apples. And we also put in 3 new raspberry canes - and we are trying 2 blueberry bushes too (but those have to be in pots)
For the garden we already have onions, garlic and egyptian walking onions (a perrenial that I'm excited about). We will plant - potatoes (2 varieties), tomatoes (probably 4-5 varieties), zucchini, corn, beans (some green bean types and several dry beans), pumpkins (I got the cinderella variety--quite excited about that one), peas, spinach and lettuces (which will go in this week with some covers). I know there's more - but those are the ones that come to mind right now.

If any of you want help with getting any kind of garden started... I am MORE than happy to help you feel the joy of watching that miracle that happens when you put a seed in the ground and then it starts to grow and then actually gives you food before it's all over... way fun!!!

Good luck with your food choices today - and with getting in those steps--I'll be outside getting the garden ready to have plants--reconfiguing the drip lines and hopefully this weekend we'll start putting up our greenhouse! :cool1:
:) Liz

Congrats to all Losers and those who maintained, keep it going. Congrats to those who are still part of the challenge for the remaining weeks and not giving up the ship.

Well I did not have a great week but still down ~1lb. Finished the week right where I was last Sunday. Not great considering where I want to be overall. Currently I'm tracking weight and COW information daily. The main reason ... it helps me compare my weight flux to activity for a given period (or lack there of).

No garden at home any more. The trees have grown to block the sun and the neighbors hedges hang over where the garden sits. My fathers property out in Western Mass has about a dozen blueberry bushes that produce a good crop.

In the words of Mary Poppins ... "Once begun is half done"

I know I'm a dork!!

Have a good & safe weekend.

Bill

Good job with the loss for the week. Instead of cheetos, chips, etc I have a box of plain shredded wheat. A couple hand fulls will always fill me and help with the water consumption. Except less H20 late in the evening.

Bill

QOTD I hope to plant some crop but don't know if the dog is going to eat them. Last year she ate the peppers right off the plants. DS1 is working in a greenhouse lab and has told me that he is getting some plants that they have started. It seems to be a tradition in the plants and the lab techs who help plant get one of the first choices.

I love to plant tomatoes. Nothing better than fresh tomatoes.

I also love fresh blueberries. I usually go out with a friend to a farm and pick about 25 pounds and freeze them. I run out about March of the following year. I don't know if I will get there this year but I do want to get some in the freezer. I love frozen fruit better than frozen veggies.

Have a great day everyone. Welcome back Tammy.

Hey there, congrats to all who have lost this week-I have a lot to catch up on post wise, that will have to wait. I saw a couple of quotd's on this page today-- I'll fashion them to Disneyland since that's the only place we go. My favorite ride is definitely space mountain and if I could stay anywhere at no cost, it'd probably be the Grand Californian--location, location location + magic mornings.
Well, I was down to 150 Tuesday, which made me happy but I knew our annual steward summit was going to crash that number real soon-- wasn't even going to try to fight it as the steward summit (union) is legendary in the level of debauchery. Turns out this was a record year for me...the lady I was supposed to drive up with decided to visit her daughter in Texas this year so I was by myself, so I decided to hit Burgerville both on the way up and back, but only had the small cheeseburger, rosemary fries and a diet coke both times. My usual would be the Tillamook bacon cheeseburger with a fry and shake so I did good considering.
Did pretty good at dinner had one plate that included salmon, some kind of beef in gravy, garlic mashed potatoes, some baked squash etc. It is a free buffet meal so in this I did well and didn't have cake. This is when the trouble started. You get 2 drink tickets. I had a rum and coke, then a glass of wine after dinner. Then someone gave me another drink ticket. Then someone else gave me one, this went on until I collected about 10 drink tickets...well... kind of wished I had had a piece of cake, 'cause somewhat later in the evening after I had passed out fully clothed on the bed I woke up to eliminate everything about 6 times in the trashcan next to the bed. Well mostly hit the can anyway. Stumbled out of bed to the breakfast before meetings from 7--8 am and had some black coffee, orange juice and a big plate of fruit which I ate very carefully. I was still pretty woozy.
You have to understand I'm 40 and haven't been that plastered since I was in Junior Highschool. I have Never had a hangover.
I had recovered enough by lunch to attack with gusto a big plate of salad with just a little dressing, a taco with mostly refired beans, some burger filling and a little cheese and some kind of enchillada that I mostly just ate the shell of mmmm. I did have a churro too lol. Considering every meal was the most excellent quality of food in a buffet style-- I did very well. They had the most wonderful cookies in the world as a snack after lunch and decided to just take home a bunch to my husband and filled my cooler with them-- I did have one when I got home. Wish I hadn't but it was too good.
I did weigh myself this morning and was up a pound to 151--kind of surprised me really that it wasn't more. Anyway I am definitely back to the grind-- but with Easter and my birthday both coming up-- going to be a tough week next week.

I am the same as last week. That is okay since I have not gotten in as much walking as I wanted to. I will send that in later.

Have a great day everyone.

Maintaining isn't such a bad thing, sometimes it is our body reacting and other times it's because we didn't push it a little more. Keep going and I'll bet you'll see a loss this week. I can never pull all nighters anymore. Used to be when we would go on scrapbooking retreats I would stay up all night or until the wee hours, sleep a couple of hours then be right back up. Not anymore...I think I sleep more than I am awake when I go these days:rotfl2:.

donac thanks for being our coach last week and welcome back TammyNC!

WTG on your loss so far, you'll see one next week if you stick to your plan!! :cheer2: You're right the frozen ones in the store isn't too bad and we eat those now but trying to think of other ways to save some $$ here and there. I'm going to hit our farmer markets this year too for those fruits too.

Good morning, everyone. Can't believe we're starting our 3rd week of this group--so cool!

WTG on your loss this week, keep up the great work. Thanks for sharing your gardening story, loved hearing all about it. I may be asking you some questions before too long. I need to work on my list of things that I would like to add so that we can get with FIL and BIL on how large we need to make it this year.

Congrats to all Losers and those who maintained, keep it going. Congrats to those who are still part of the challenge for the remaining weeks and not giving up the ship.

A loss is a loss, no matter what the number, be proud of that and celebrate it!! You had to have burned more calories than you put in to have had a loss so great job!! :cool1::cool1:

25 pds, WOW, I love blueberries too and so does my DD so I'm going to try to put some up for us to have through the winter. How cool to get a plant that your DS helped with. I love home grown tomatoes too, a good tomato sandwich with some light mayo or tomoatoes with my eggs, yummm.:thumbsup2

Sounds like you had a good time minus a little set back that one morning ;). You can make it through this week by making really good choices when you aren't doing your thing for Easter and your birthday. All other meals, really concentrate on your portions and types of food you are eating. Remember to get lots of water in too. You can do it!!!:cheer2:

I hope everyone is having a great Easter weekend so far. I managed to get several things marked off my to-do list yesterday. I had to go find a couple of pair of jeans, the ones I had been wearing were really baggy and not looking so good. It was a good thing except that I hate shopping. I did find a couple of pair and it felt great to buy a smaller size.

My brother called last night and informed me that I am a new aunt. My newest nephew was born last night around 8:20pm. I hope to head down and get a little hold time in today and some pictures.

QOTD Saturday - What is your favorite country to visit in the World Showcase at Epcot?

Mine would have to be Mexico. I love the cool little boat ride and the smell of the food. It's always fun to have the family try on the hats and take their picture.

Have a great weekend everyone and don't forget if you haven't sent your weight in, please do that as soon as possible so we don't hold up our weight keeper.

Good morning everyone. Congrats to all who have lost, and hugs to those who maintained and gained. Hang in there, and don't give up. We can do this. I want to come around here more this weekend, and keep myself on track. I'm off to ww in a few minutes. My washer is fixed, so I'm happy. I did a 4 mile watp video, and after ww we are going to try and go see Hannah Montana Movie. My son is loving her lately, and really wants to see the movie. I was hoping for Monsters vs Aliens because it's at the theater with more comfy seats. :rotfl:

50sjayne- :grouphug: Sorry about your overindulgence. It's so fun but the payback isn't worth it as we get older. Hang in there this week, celebrate for easter and your birthday, and stay on track the other days, and you'll be fine.

happysmyly- It's so nice to hear the passion in your writing about gardening.

I don't regularly plant a garden, we have done some tomato plants, peppers and zucchini a couple years, and other years we'll plant flowers. My yard is tiny, so it's only a few plants of each, but I love the tomatoes.

Tammy- thanks for being our team captain and coach. It's so nice to see all the personal replies. I just noticed your 40 pound loss banner in your siggie! That is awesome!! Congratulations!!

Dona- thanks for coaching last week. I can't imagine pulling an allnighter. right after i graduated high school, I was in a friends wedding, and her mother made us all the dresses, and was litterally up all night the night before the wedding finishing the dresses. I think back now on how exhausted she must have been, and as the mother of the bride, she should have been able to enjoy herself, not struggle to stay awake. Hope you got some sleep last night.

Have a great day everyone, and a Happy Easter if you are celebrating!!:flower3:

Well I didn't pull an all nighter. I got up early and started quilting. I have about 3 hours left before I have to quilt the borders. I like to do those on machine since they take a lot of stress. Then the binding. I am just taking a break to stretch my fingers. I am hoping I can do it.

My frig is coming in a little while. Tammy did you get your stove fixed? I am glad it is just a part. mikamah glad that the washer was fixed. I hate the laundromat.

Well off to get a quick shower and then back to quilting. Have a great day.

I too know the call of those cheetos!! For a quick snack I like to have plain rice cakes with a little all natural peanut butter on top and a sprinkling of splenda
Good morning, everyone. Can't believe we're starting our 3rd week of this group--so cool!

I sure wish I could plant like you, everything I plant I kill. My mom gave me two tomato plants and they are in little pots, we'll see what happens, so far they are doing well.

Good job with the loss for the week. Instead of cheetos, chips, etc I have a box of plain shredded wheat. A couple hand fulls will always fill me and help with the water consumption. Except less H20 late in the evening.

Bill

So you just grab a handful of the shredded wheat and munch down? I thought shredded wheat came as little bars you had to break apart? I guess it's been a while since I've had shredded wheat.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Easter weekend. It has been a terrible week for me diet and weight wise. I really had fun with my kids though. Monday is a new day and the beginning of a different week. Enjoy Easter I am off to the beach!!

Happy Easter week-end, Greenies!

Donac, congratulations on almost being done with your quilt. I am sure that your in-laws will love it.

Kathy, hope that your washer was fixed and you didn't have to do laundromat duty this morning. Once when our washer was broken DH and I had to finally give up and go to the laudromat -- it took 17 loads to catch up! :scared1: That is the stuff family legends are made of . . . :rotfl:

Hope that you had fun at the beach, Kim :beach:

Thank you very much for your encouraging words, Tammy. :goodvibes

DS 9 and I just finished dyeing our Easter eggs. Then he set the table for tomorrow's dinner for us so we have a pretty table to enjoy the rest of the day.

I've walked over 7,000 steps both today and yesterday and my legs are tired so I am taking a break on the computer and listening to the Soarin' channel on internet radio -- all Soarin' music, all the time. Which brings me to the

QOTD Saturday - What is your favorite country to visit in the World Showcase at Epcot?

I love Italy. I love the atmosphere, Tutto Italia and most of all, the bellinis!

Have a great week-end everyone!

I had an 1 lb loss this week. I was hoping for more, but anything down is a winning week for me. And it is two weeks in a row that I have had a loss of 1+ lb's.

My favorite is Mexico. I love the restaurant, Angel Inn, I think it's called.

Hope all the greenies are having a great weekend. Tomorrow we are going to family's for brunch.

!
Thanks, lisa, it is fixed and i didn't have to go to the laundromat!!
OMG-17 loads! I can't imagine. I don't think I'd have enough clothes. Last sunday when it broke with a dirty load in it, I had just bought my son new underwear that was in it, and he only had 2 more clean pairs, so tuesday, I went to my mom's and finished the load. Nice job on the walking too!! I haven't dyed eggs this year. My sister did them with my son, and boy did I want an egg salad sandwich today, but he wouldn't let me eat them until the easter bunny sees them tonight.

qotd- I love going to mexico. I love the boat ride, and then walking through the shopping carts. We went to mexico when my son was 4, and at the resort they had little pottery cart that you painted, and then they glazed it and highlighted it with black overnight, and my son just loved that. I love looking at all the mexican pottery and remembering our fun trip.

Congrats Tink1963 on your loss! Any loss is great and should be celebrated. Have a fun day tomorrow.

I have had a good day, and am really motivated to come back tomorrow and say that again. Lots of chocolate and sweets to contend with, but I can do it.

Happy, healthy Easter everyone.
