Birthday Celerbration Mom & Son:Sept 24~30 *Last Day Le Cellier Complete!*

Y&Y looks great! I don't think I have ever read a bad review of this place and would love to try it on a future trip ;)

Ohana's also looks like fun! I'm glad you got a good view of Wishes. The amount of food you get here puts me off going as I don't think we'd be able to handle it! :rotfl:

Yak and Yeti and Ohana's are both on my list for my next trip! I've seen pics and read reviews of the Malaysian Seafood Curry at Y&Y so I definitely want to try that. All the pics of Ohanas look delicious!

Great updates! We've never been to Tusker House or Ohanas, but your meals sound good. We went to Yak & Yeti in 2008 and absolutely loved it; I had an ADR for our trip a couple of weeks ago and cancelled it and wish I hadn't...your shrimp and steak looks great.

We love Y&Y. We don't really like CS offerings in AK. I know many people like Flame Tree BBQ but we prefer indoor seating. Pizzafari is indoor but we don't like what they offer. :rolleyes1

Yep. You just have to eat alot at Ohanas. There's no way around it. :lmao: We don't do it every trip for the reason. :upsidedow

A table next to us ordered Malaysian Seafood Curry and looked fabulous. I also want to try it next time.

Tusker House is our another favorite breakfast just like Crystal Palace. We loved the decor of the restaurant and of course, food! It's very cute to see characters in Safari wear.

This was last full day and we were sad to say the least. :sad1: However, we wanted to make most out of it. I originally planned speding the morning in DHS and the evening at Epcot. However, I was over ruled and we went to Epcot nice and early for the rope drop.
We again stated with rides in Future World and spent quit some time in Innoventions that morning. We also got stuck on Test Track! :headache: They gave us FPs good until next day. As soon as 11am ruled, we started our tour of WS. Our goal here is to snack/drink around the World.

We decided that instead of eating dinner, we'll have lunch at Teppan Edo. (Thanks to iphone, it was easy).

Our drinks.... DS got orange soda, DCuz got diet coke and Kirin Beer (large) and I got hot green tea.

We were seated with a family of 4 and two retired couple. The familiy of 4 kept to themselves. They had two little ones so they were quit busy. However, we made fast friends with the retired couple. They live in Massachusetts and they were very friendly. They were on DxDP and were their last day. It was their first visit to WDW and they really enjoyed it! We talked about vacations, places to visit, children, etc. It was really enjoyable experience. :lovestruc We even shared our food. They were on DxDP and getting sick of eating too much food and offered us their appetizer. We accepted their kind gesture and ordered California Roll.

It turns out everyone ordered something different from the menu so we all gave each other taste of each food.

DCuz ordered Hotate - cold water scallops 29.99.
DS ordered Ebi - large shrimps 29.99
I ordered Asakusa - Sirloin steaks and large shrimp 29.99
The couple ordered Kajiki Maguro - swordfish steak and Filet Mignon.

This is a restaurant that you are supposed enjoy the cooking process so I'm including pictures of chef cooking instead of finished dishes.

Everything tasted good :thumbsup2 The noodles were tasty and veges were fresh. We like that they serve white steamed rice since that's the traditional way. Both scallops and shrimps were cooked tender and juicy. DS claimed that the shrimps were the best tasting shrimps he ever had. :cloud9: I asked my steak for medium and it was cooked to perfect medium, tender and soft. We also had taste of swordfish and filet and they were great also. Teppan Edo is DS's #1 favorite restaurant in WDW. There are many Hibatchi place around us but Teppan Edo is very nicely decorated and being at Disney brings the while experience up! DS is already asking to return to Teppan Edo again! ;)

Our desserts, we also ordered everything different and shared.

CIMG4337.jpg

Green Tea Pudding $6.95 I always order this in Teppan Edo or Tokyo Dining. It's more like flan... very soft and tasty.

CIMG4338.jpg

Chocolate Ginger Cake $6.50 This had over powering ginger taste to it so none of us really liked it.

CIMG4339.jpg

Soft Served Ice Cream $4.50 It is what it is.... ice cream.

It was such a fun meal and the couple wished that they see us again in their future visits. :goodvibes We also very much enjoyed meeting them. I think place like Teppan Edo and Biergarten where you seat with strangers, it's makes world difference in the experience as to who you meet!

This meal we used 3 TS credits and paid OOP for the beer ($7.99). The total bill came out to be $128.44 and we left $25 tip.

Eek at being stuck on TT and oh no on it being your last day :sad2:

Great review of Teppan Edo. I would love to eat here but sharing the experience with people you do not know puts me off slightly. I'm glad the retired couple were very nice and you had a great experience.

I would probably order the scallops so was happy to read that they were great! The desserts look yummy as well!

We've always had a good experience at Teppan Edo and food is great there. You should try it sometime. :thumbsup2

I love the hibachi place near us so Teppan Edo would be a lot of fun!

It was alot of fun and gave us break from the heat and time to re-energize. DS is already asking me to make ADR at Teppan Edo again next trip. ;)

Sorry to hear about Test Track, but glad they gave you some fast passes to compensate.

Teppan Edo looks really good (another place we've never been...but we tend to stick to the hibachi place in Naples and try other places at Disney).

After our break, we returned to World Showcase. We wanted to snack/drink around the world. Also, Food and Wine festival is supposed to open tomorrow and having soft openinig this night. I think week of continous touring got the best of us and all of us took a nap longer than intended. :lmao: We planned on getting up around 5 but could not get up until little after 6pm and got a late start. At this point, we were really hungry but decided to wait until we got to Epcot for much needed food. Our first stop was at France's famous bakery.

Boulangerie Patisserie! It's one of my favorite snack place in whole WDW!!!

CIMG4393.jpg

CIMG4394.jpg

CIMG4395.jpg

As much as we were hungry, we agreed to share a couple things so we could try more food at other countries. DS and I stayed in line and purchased our Strawberry Tart and Ham and Cheese Croissant.

CIMG4396.jpg

CIMG4397.jpg

DCuz went to get us drink. I don't know where he got it but he returned with a cup of beer for us and a bottle of water for DS. There were not outside seats available so we walked into the souvie shop and found plenty seating inside. Both the tart and croissant was very good! The tart had ripe and sweet strawberries and custard creme was sweet and creamy. They heat up the croissant for you so that the sandwich was very hot and tasty.
The beer was nice and cool and helped to wash down our food.

We used 2 snack credits and the cost was $7.69. I have no idea how much the beer and water costs.

We lingered a bit in France as DS was doing Mission Kimpossible there. When he finished help saving the world from the villains, we moved to Morocco. It's amazing how the inside really feels like the market place of Middle East! We were still hungry so we decided to share something from Tangierine Cafe.
At this point, I want to share with you that the f&W booths lines were mile long at each, and we didn't want to invest our time eating one/two thing. We decided to get our food and wine from each country's CS places, since none had much people.

CIMG4405.jpg

We got Sharwama Platter with Chicken/Lamb combo. We got large coke and baklava for dessert. We used 1CS credit ($20.70) and DCuz got Casa Beer $6.99. Chicken was little dry but edible. Lamb was tasty and cous cous had lots of flavor! Hummus was just ok. We've had better ones else where. Tabouleh was tasty but I was the only one who enjoyed it. :confused3 Anyways, this is very large dish. We were quit full so decided to burn off the calroies by visiting every country!

At America, we had some fun moments doing hoola-hoop with other guests. They were two adult couple and saying that they were good at it but the hoola-hoops didn't work. DS and I joined the excercise and proved that it works. :rotfl: I said to them, "You can't say it's broken just because you can't do it!" and we all laughed hard.

Moving to Germany, DCuz once again went to get a taste of German beer at the beer stand right next to Akershus. I think he got Radeberger Pilsner $8.00. Sorry, no pictures. It was quit dark by the time we got out of France, so I stopped taking pictures and enjoyed the night. When we sat down to eat inside, I took pictures but other than that we just enjoyed the night.

DS and I decided to check out Karmel Kuche. We couldn't resist the sweet smell and ended up in long line to get our cravings satisfied.

CIMG4420.jpg

CIMG4421.jpg

CIMG4422.jpg

CIMG4423.jpg

I got Chewy Carmel Bar and DS ordered small carmel covered popcorn. CM noticed DS's Birthday button, and instead of small bag, she gave him the large one. We thank her and used 2 snack credits. We ate my carme bar right away. So good! :thumbsup2 It was rich but in good way and very tasty. DS ate some of his popcorn but saved it for later. All the sweetness made us very thirsty and DS spotted Italy Gelato Stand. They had his favorite drink.

CIMG4430.jpg

This stand does not except dining plan so it's oop and it was $4.26. We usually buy a case of San Pellegrino Orange/Lemon from Costco's and it's almost 1/3 price of a case (24 cans). Sometimes, Disney's inflation really gets to me. Despite the price, we enjoyed the refreshing drink.

We made to China, and DS wanted to taste there pot stickers.
Instead of their F&W festival with unmoving line, we went into Lotus Blosson Cafe and ordered one. It was $5.32 and paid oop.

CIMG4429.jpg

This was the worst choice of the night. DS took a bite before I got my camera out. For over five bucks, you get 3 dinky dumplings. It was very greasy and didn't taste good so we ended up throwing it away. DCus got a bottle of Tsing Tao $5.75. He dutifully offered a sip but I declined. At this point, I decided to stop tasting DCuz drinks. :rolleyes1 As much as I enjoyed little sips here and threre, I had to drive back to the resort and be somewhat resposible driver. If I add all the little sips, it's a good half cup of beer so I stopped. We went through Mexico and Canada without making damage. It's partly because we have our last meal at LeCellier again next day and we've been drinking Mexico's famous beer, Corona, all week long at the resort.:laughing: We lastly went to England to get DS's last Passport page stamped. DCuz went into Rose and Crown Pub and tried Guiness Stout and Harp Lager ($8 each).
He brought out Guiness Stout on plastic cup (apparently none of the beer places would give you glass bottle) so I could have a sip. We sat by the curb and watched Illuminations and ended up eating DS's carmel popcorn.

I am new to this forum and I am now addicted to reading everyone's food blogs! I am enjoying all your pictures and your food reviews and it is making my SOOO excited about our upcoming surprise Disney trip for our kids in December. I read in your first review about scoring a $69 car rental. How in the world were you able to get such a great rate? I have been trying on Alamo and other car rental sites to a decent rate. We are reyling on Disney transportation, but if we are able to get such a great rate, it would be lovely to have the convenience of having our own car!

I love your little trip around the "world"! The strawberry tart from France looks great - we skipped the bakery there because we had lunch in France and were too full! But we had to visit the caramel shop in Germany - the chocolate and caramel covered strawberries we had were just amazing! Did you not get anything at the Norway bakery? We had the famous school bread there and it was quite good.

Teppan Edo's food is nothing special if you have good hibachi place. However, it's great that you could talk about Disney with fellow diners without getting the look. :lmao:

Thank you for reading.

We went once relying on Disney transportation and never again. Disney transportation is nice but having a car really saves a bundle of time. Also, it's nice to relax in your own car after long day at the park. I usually look at a car about 1~2 months before our trip. I noticed that usually rental rates drop late at night (10~11pm EST) and go back up in the morning. This time, I got mine through Alamo using insider coupon for $40 off and 20% off of a week rental. It's good to join the transportation thread in this board and they usually have the month you are going such as November rental thread. People share with you their rate and coupon codes.

We had to skip Norway bakery because we were just so full!!! :rotfl: Someone was eating fish and chips while we were watching Illuminations at England. I was wishing for a taste but just didn't have any room for more food. As DS said that night "If I eat one more bite, I might explode!"

I love the goodies in Norway and France. :worship::worship::worship:

I ate at Morocco's counter service in September. I had the same thing as you (by the way...I forgot to take pictures of my food...can I borrow your photo). My chicken was terrible, but the lamb was pretty tasty.

Next trip, I vow to try Norway! :goodvibes Of course you could borrow my picture. Next time, I'm sticking with lamb only.

Thank you for the tip on car rental! I am going to head over to the Transportation Board to see what rates everyone is getting. Also, thanks for posting the pics at Karamelle Kuche!!!!!! Oh My!!!!!!!! I think I am going to use ALL my snack credits there. I love, love, love caramel. Throw in some chocolate and I am in heaven!

Karamelle Kuche along with Boulagerie Patisserie is my favorite snack place in WDW!!! I think next trip, I'll save up some snack credits and bring some back home. ;)

Wow at the F&W lines! I have read other reports of the soft opening which mentioned similar things. I suppose everyone wants in on the first 'non official' day.

Love the CS WS pics. That tart from France looks yummy!

We loved the feel of Morocco as well.

Mmm Karamelle Kuche :cloud9: That's sweet of the CM to give your son a large bag of caramel popcorn.

We definitely thought that we could enjoye F&W but we couldn't justify spending +30 minutes at each booth. :sad2: I rather seat at TS restaurant comfortably and enjoy my food if I'm going to spend that much time.

However, thanks to F&W booths, most CS locations had very little line or less than usual so we really enjoyed eating around world!

Karamelle Kuche is awesome! :thumbsup2
