Birthday Celerbration Mom & Son:Sept 24~30 *Last Day Le Cellier Complete!*

We spent our day at MK. We walked into every single ride and some we did them twice/three times. :yay: We actually collected a stack of fast pass for the evening. We did every single ride/attraction we wanted to do at MK and were finished by noon. Gotta love Sept low crowd!!!

During the tour of MK, we shared Dibs Ice Cream. It's not messy as other ice cream/popscicles since it doesn't melt as quick in scorching heat. And this is much easier to share.

One less snack credit! ($3.75) We were looking for Dibs in other parks but we could only find it in MK.

Somewhere along, we stopped by Sunshine Tree Terrace and got two of Orange Slushes which is very refreshing and cools you down quickly!!!

CIMG4144.jpg

We used our snack credit but cost per one slush is $3.93.

Finally by noon, we trekked back to Liberty Square from Tomorrow Land to eat at our favorite CS place in MK. COLUMBIA HABOUR HOUSE!!!:cool1: We got our seat on 2nd fl dining room right by a window overlooking It's a Small World. It's always fun to people watch.
I was very excited to try their new menu!

DS ordered Shrimp Platter with Orange Soda and Strawberry Yogurt as dessert.

CIMG4029.jpg

The shrimp was very tender and batter was crisp without being too oily. The french fries were hot and fresh.

DCuz ordered Grilled Salmon with Diet Coke and Apple Crisp and this was a great choice.

CIMG4030.jpg

They actually cook it as you order it and we had to wait at least 15 minutes for our food b/c of this but it did not disappoint. Salmon actually tasted very good with the sauce that they used. Couscous was tasty and broccoli was well seasoned and cooked well. He's not so much vergetable eater so I helped cleaning up the broccoli. ;)

I also order their new menu, Lobster Roll with Coke and Yogurt.

CIMG4031.jpg

I wasn't really expecting a great Lobster Roll at a CS place and boy was I wrong. It really hit the spot for me. It was very, very hot that day nearing 95 :scared1: so cold Lobster salad was perfect! It was very tasty with all the veges and their were some big chunks of lobster. The chips that came with the roll is the the standard pre-packaged Disney one.

As for desserts, yogurts were ok. We just didn't want to order Choclate Cake or Apple Crisp. DCuz said Apple Crisp was too doughy in the pastry part and too sweet in filling. The thing is DCuz family own really famous bakery which their patry chefs are trained in France and Japan. So we are used to eating really fine baking produts. So normally, nothing really amazes us but CS cakes/desserts are usually really bad in our opinion (exception of few). :rolleyes1

All in all, we were very satisfied with the food we got and DCuz was amazed that CS has such offerings besides burgers/pizza/chicken nuggets. :thumbsup2 We used 3 CS credits but total came out to be $49.43.

We will definitely return to CHH in the future! :goodvibes

great reviews - CHH is somewhere we've never tried and it looks great - wish I hadn't agreed to not go to the dessert party - it looks amazing (maybe next year :) )

The salmon at CHH looks really good! I had the fried shrimp when I was there and enjoyed it. We were definitely impressed with the options CHH had. I'm okay with burgers and stuff for lunch, but if I ever did a CS dinner that would be the place to go!

Mmm that Mickey Waffle looks yummy! :thumbsup2

I didn't know about Dibs ice cream but will definitely have to get some on a future trip - where do you get this from?

Also you chose two of the CHH menu options we were thinking of ordering - grilled salmon and the lobster roll. They both look and sound great. I'll definitely have to try them next time we visit.

CHH is our favorite CS in MK and it's a must do every trip. We like the fact that it offers different menu from most CS and we love seafood so it works out well. Especially second floor seating offers quietness so it offers a nice break from the hustle and heat from the park. :goodvibes

I tasted one of DS's fried shrimp and it was good! :thumbsup2 I read somewhre on the board right before our trip that CHH added two new menus (Salmon and Lobster Rolls) so I wanted to try them as I've tried all others from their menu in the past. It was good. I'll probably get a Lobster Roll on a hot day but on a cold day, I'll probably stick with hotter entrees.

We definitely noticed that Dibs are only offered in MK. They are usually available in any ice cream snack carts through out the park. I know that DS was watching out for them at other parks but couldn't find them else where.

Both grilled salmon and the lobster tasted good and fresh. You should definitely try them.

Great reviews so far! I love CHH's new menu! It's really great that they are starting to add healthier options to their CS menu's. I mean grilled salmon and broccoli?! Much better than your average burgers and fries. Looking forward to reading the rest of your reviews.

We loved the new menu and CHH is all time favorite CS for us. And our upcoming trip, I think we will just do QSDP since there are so many of us so it's great that there are more variety!:thumbsup2

Glad you enjoyed the Wishes Dessert Party! We did, too... and I also thought the desserts were really good. Except for the Mango Shooter... while you said it was too sweet, I thought it was waaaaay too sour! Maybe we just had a bad batch or something, but it was pretty yucky, LOL!

After MK, we went back to POFQ to rest and cool down a bit by the pool. All of us ended up taking a nap after little swim which was cut short by thunderstorm. Our original plan was to go back to MK and use up all the FPs we collected (I think we collected every FPs that was available at MK. :lmao:)
This night, we planned to eat at Kimonos utilizing Restaurant.com certificate which I bought it for $2 ($25 value). DS loves sushi and that's what he asked for his birthday meal. I thought about doing Cali Grill like last year but wanted to change up a bit. When we stepped out side, the thunderstorm has now turned into drizzle. :sad2: While DCuz drove to Swan, I checked into my iPhone app Radar. I gives you the satelite image of couple hours in any area you want to look at. Well, looked like we will have rain for the rest of the night! :headache: I hoped that the rain clears while we eat dinner.

Anyways, getting back to Kimonos. When we arrived at Kimonos, they actually just opened and we were seated pretty quickly. The decor was minimal and modern. They have windows looking out the court yards. I actually wanted to dine before Karaoke started for quietness. The hostess was very nice and courteous.

CIMG4053.jpg

DS and DCuz ordered soft drinks. I ordered hot green tea and it came in stone carved tea pot. I guess it retained the warmth for long time but it was really heavy to lift. However, I noticed that they use excellent grade green tea. They were actually better quality than Teppan Edo/Tokyo Dining's.

CIMG4054.jpg

We quickly decided on our sushi and sashimi choices and also ordered kyoza and temoura udon from the appetizer section. We really expected the appetizer to come out first but to our surprise our sushi came first. :confused3 Our waitress came and apologized but it was definitely weird!!!

CIMG4055.jpg

Top left are tuna and salmon sashimi. Yellow ones are Egg rolls. Bottom left rolls are Spicy Rainbow rolls. Top right rolls are California rolls. Bottom left rolls are Dragon rolls. They all were very fresh and tasty!!! We lived in Japan for a couple of years and really are spoilt eating excellent quality sushi but Kimono's was excellent! :thumbsup2 Actually, egg rolls are very hard to make it fluffy, light, and sweet and they got them right. They also use very high quality wasabi which makes a world difference for your sushi.

Now onto our appetizer that came middle of our sushi. We immediately tried kyoza, and it's definitely not house made but frozen packaged one for the mass production.
You could actually see that the edge of kyoza has freezer burn. Same thing with Tempura Udon. It was pre-packaged udon just boiled and served. :sad2: Tempura shrimp was all soggy and tasted rubbery. Udon broth tasted like it's right out of can. I make both kyoza and udon at home from scrach, and I could confidently say that mine taste whole lot better!!!!

o

So we stayed with our sushi and finished everything off the plate! ;) Our waitress came often to check on us and we decided that next time, we are sticking to sushi menu which is Kimono's main strength. Our bill here came out to $74.96 with $25 cert and automatic 18% gratuity. Also, they validate your parking pass here so do not need to pay $13 for parking that Swan/Dolphin charge.

It was actually pouring by the time we got out so I kept FPs as souvie and we drove to Millenia Mall and shopped. :woohoo: We actually came back early for recuperation.

Hi
I love your reviews!! We'll be at the dessert party in November. Can't wait. Thanks for sharing!!

I'm here. Now I have to go back and read and catch up.

****Okay, I am all caught up. Great trip thus far (minus the issue with the tickets!).

Glad you enjoyed your meal at LeCellier; we ate there too, but I won't give away anything until I get to that meal in my Dining Reviews.

We LOVE Columbia Harbor House...it is one of our favorite CS's.

Great reviews! I love Columbia Harbour House, and it was one of my favorites even before the new additions - I definitely want to try the salmon!

And it looks like Kimono's is a great place for sushi. I have to try it eventually.

The sushi at Kimono's looks really good! My DH loves sushi, but I am just venturing into trying it recently.

Great review of Kimonos! :thumbsup2

I'm not a fan of sushi but it looks really nice in your pictures. It's a shame about the appetisers not being made fresh.

Thank you for reading. We enjoyed the desserts and the whole atmosphere. As long as you know what to expect, it's a great experience.

I'll be eagerly waiting for your Le Cellier review. We really had one of our best trip!

Sushi chefs at Kimono looked all well-aged and experienced. We were seated near the sushi bar so enjoyed watching their creations while we ate.

The sushi at Kimono's looks really good! My DH loves sushi, but I am just venturing into trying it recently.

We loved Kimono's sushi but definitely recommend staying with sushi.

Great review of Kimonos! :thumbsup2

Thank you for reading. We regretted getting appies. However, I plan to return to Kimonos and get their sushi again.

It's Tuesday, Sept 27th. We bought our MNSHHP tickets a day before (on MK day at TTC). I was able to receive little discount for MNSHHP tix by showing our ticket AP upgrade receipt at TTC. I don't think I mentioned that after our tix upgrade to APs, the CM at POFQ Concierge didn't take tix apart from KTWC. So whever, I purchased souvies or hard tix, I had to show my receipt and explain. It's a little extra step but most places were very accomodating and gave AP discounts.

We again got up around 7am and quickly got ready for our quick breakfast at Ssagoula. Again, we went out with our Starbucks coffee and DS's milk on to-go cup. We again got a bounty platter but this time, when I asked for no biscuit, CM offered a choice of extra waffle or a pancake. So I got chocholate chip pancake.

CIMG4065.jpg

Again, everything tasted delicious and DS ate all the meats and we got a side of bacons for him. It was kind of pitiful... 4 thin strips of bacon and the cost was $3.18 (OOP). However, I told you before that DS actually likes Disney bacon so he ate them all up.

We got Western Omelette this morning and this dish, they make it as you order, so it was hot and fresh.

CIMG4064.jpg

It has onions, green peppers, ham and cheddar cheese and tasted very good. :thumbsup2 Breakfast potatoes were hit or miss while we stayed. It's pre-made so sometimes we got fresh batch and sometimes we got some that sat for awhile. Again, we shared two plates between three, and were full and ready for the morning park touring. Drinks were the same as day before, orange juice and monster drink. We used 2 CS credits but the cost was $23.39.

DCuz quickly drove to DHS for rope drop. After TSM, RnR, ToT, and ST (all twice) we got out of the park by noon. We really wanted rest up for MNSSHP in the afternoon so that we are fully recharged for the night time fun. We decided to eat at WPE so drove to DTD. This was really, really hot day and walk from the parking lot to the restaurant was suffocating!!! :scared1:
WPE Marketside wasn't crowded and had many open tables inside. No one was eating out since it was just too hot!
DCuz ordered Spaghetti and Meatball.

CIMG4122.jpg

The pasta was cooked to al dante and meatball was well-seasoned and tasty! The sauce had little spicy kick and we all thought it was delish~

DS ordered his favorite pizza, Magherita! DS is very picky about his pizza. He only likes thin crust and prefers oven brick pizza. So he took the opportunity and got his pizza craving satisfied here.

CIMG4120.jpg

Notice that one side was kind of burnt. DS avoided that spot and ate 3 slices. It was too big to be a personal pizza so we asked for a box and took it back to the resort and ate it after our swim. It still tasted good cold. :goodvibes

I ordered Grilled Salmon dish with greens. The salmon tasted great and fresh greens went well with horse radish based sauce. :thumbsup2 We all ordered soda here and got refills many times.

CIMG4123.jpg

DCuz got Creme Brulee for his dessert and I got Cheesecake. DS got a Brownie. You could see DS's browine in the corner of his pizza picture. We were full from our entree so we shared Creme Brulee and got Cheesecake and Brownie to-go and ate Cheesecake after our swimming and DS ate his brownie with his beloved milk as a snack one night.

CIMG4121.jpg

This is the most expensive CS we ate all week. The CM gave me itemized receipt and Salmon was $18, Spaghetti and Meatball was $16 and Margherita was $11. The cheesecake was $5, Brownie and $3 and Creme Brulee was $6. Our bill total was $71.95 and we used 3 CS credits. WPE is definitely great choice for CS, since they have a great options and the quality is excellent. Again, this is one of our favorite CS and it did not dissapoint! We will definitely return here next trip again to burn up our CS credits. :lovestruc

On a second thought, I don't know if I'll go here if I was paying OOP, since you could definitely eat at a TS lunch with that kind of price.

Enjoying your reviews. We think WPE is the best CS in WDW, we didn't get a chance to eat there this trip but hopefully will next time. The creme brûlée cheesecake looks really good.

We have never been to WPE (we did WP when it first opened). The food looks yummy.

I agree that WPE is a great CS place and value for money :thumbsup2

The food looks yummy - a shame that a bit of the pizza was burnt but it looks good regardless.
