Hi guys,

I am going to Disneyworld in two weeks and its going to be my partner's 30th birthday (bless him).

Can any of you wonderful people fill me in on how I can make it more special on Disneyworld/Seaworld/Universal etc.

I need ideas!!!

It's more like, what DOESN'T Disney do!

1. make sure to get him a happy b-day button from any guest relations at any of the parks or from your resort front desk if you are on property- you will get many special b-day greetings from characters and cast members!
2. make sure it is stated that it's his b-day in any Disney dining reservations that you have. He will get a free cupcake w/candle and some sort of song/celebration depending on the restaurant
3. Look into ordering a special b-day cake for a surprise if you are staying on property or eating at a sit-down restaurant - here is a link to the official cake thread on this board with pictures and info, but you'll have to act in the next couple of days to order for your trip http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2118274

I have celebrated 4 b-days at WDW and it is very magical! Will be celebrating again in 3 weeks!

Just a warning... if you put a note on your ADR about a birthday, you should be sure to remind your waiter or host. We went to Chefs de France for our anniversary meal and somewhere else as my Birthday meal, and both places did nothing... Although I don't think this is the norm, since there were other folks that got Happy Birthday sang to them while we ate (I think they were all children).

Edit: We were wearing buttons on those days as well...

I'll also mention letting them know you have a Bday on your ADR's. When I went in June 2008 I mentioned it offhandedly while making my ADR's and was pleasantly surprised by the special "Happy Birthday" menu I received at Coral Reef (Full of Little Mermaid characters, and a great souvenir) and the birthday cake I received with my meal at CRT.

I've also read threads in the past about getting a message delivered by a Diver in the tank at Coral Reef, but I'm not sure if that's possible with such short notice.

If you make any ADR's mention it's a birthday when you CHECK IN at the resturant. They decorate your table with confetti and you either get a cupcake and candle or ice cream with sprinkles and candle and they sign Happy Birthday!
