Biggest Loser show chit-chat

After tonight's show, all I can say is, "Wow". I saw kindness and not so much, and I wouldn't want to have to live in that house if I were Tracy. All the sympathy I had for her is long gone...

Maria :upsidedow

Ooooo! Sounds interesting! Have to wait until tonight to watch. Darn this working for a living . . . :rotfl:

I missed the first half hour, but watched the rest, and I don't understand why nobody gave Antoine any grief for eating cupcakes?

I think Tracy is kinda flaky, and her days are numbered since she's alienated everybody, but I was surprised at how harsh Jillian was with her. I remember watching a couple seasons ago, when one guy threw the weigh-in by drinking a bunch of water right before, and I don't think he got as much grief from that as Tracy did last night.

I feel sorry for Coach Mo, since he'll get kicked out with her. I don't know how skewed the workout footage was, but they showed him not working out and just watching to see what everybody else was doing, and then going and doing it. I thought he should of been doing something while he was watching. I thought it was interesting that they didn't show Tracy working out at all, but she must have been in order to get those good results.:confused3

Wow. I think she spent every ounce of goodwill she might have had.

I, too, am annoyed by the amazing standing ZipLoc bag. It stands up. Under its own power! Amazing. And you can write on it! It's a miracle! Amatuers....

I was really impressed with the weight loss that the Antoine and Sean continued after leaving the ranch. Both over 100 #s. Good for them!

Ronda

I think Tracy burned her bridges and is now definately a target. Too bad Coach Mo has to go down with her.

I know both Bob and Jillian hate the game play, but in the end it is a game. But it is WAY too early for that kind of game play, that is more mid season/end of season type shenanigans. I think Jillian is so upset because she took the time with Tracy and Tracy didn't seem to get the message. Bob was upset, he just doesn't "vent" like Jillian does.

Antoine and Sean-what wonderful men to sacrifice themselves in order that Shay could stay. They are the kind of people you want to win, as they are true and good people. Hopefully Shay and Daniel can do well-I hope Shay can stay for a good long time. She really needs the help.

Sure is interesting......

I have to say, having Tracy on the show sure does make it interesting, even if she is nuts. Because she is nuts, perhaps. She just seems to have no....sense! First thing she does on the show - heatstroke because she didn't have the sense to take it easy even after she collapsed!

She gets back into the game and first things she does is.....sell out Bob and Jillian for 2 pounds??? And then she eats a bunch of cupcakes to get control of who weighs in? 400 calories in sugar isn't really THAT much compared with how much they burn in a week, and I don't think the two cupcakes were the reason Antoine fell below, but then what does she do with that power? Ticks people off? Not smart at this point in the game. If she were smart, like Vicky who was icky and mean but crafty, she really should have used that power to build her alliances. Weigh in who people wanted to way in. Certainly don't throw Shay under the bus or the girl who has your back.

How did she lose so much weight? It was her first week on the ranch - seems to me it was probably that first week's water weight, since last week was her first weigh in.

Thank goodness Antoine and Sean are so decent. They really took what they learned and ran with it. I was glad Sean got to go home to his wife and still managed to lose a lot! And Antoine and Alexandra are a really cute couple! They weren't on the show very long, but they're examples of making the most of it, for sure.

I also have to say that I am so impressed with Daniel. He's such a great partner for Shay to have, and just a decent kid.

Tracy is going to have to find some way to stay above the yellow line, though. The minute she's under, she's gone, I bet.:wave2:

I agree with you about Daniel. I was impressed with how quickly and how well he talked to Shay when she got the 6 and needed 7 pounds. It sounded like something I would have expected Bob to say, but I think for Shay it was more effective to hear it from Daniel.:thumbsup2

Yes, I think Daniel is a nice guy, too! :goodvibes

Tracy is crazy but you have to admit that she makes things interesting. I wonder if the producers and behind the scenes folks coach contestants to do certain things or if they just naturally get wound up when they get in the game? :confused3

And for those of you who like the standing ziplocks, don't forget about Yoplait Light Yogurt -- it has vitamin D in it! ;)

 I am still cracking up over Ronda's standing up baggies comment.

Not to mention yogurt and sugar free gum. How about that time a few seasons ago when they were making such a big deal out of sugar free pudding?

I know they have to have sponsors to pay for production of the show, but why do so many of them have to be artificially sweetened foods and plastic bags?

And how about the BL protein powder? Has anyone tried that?

Anybody wonderding if Coach Mo water-loaded? It doesn't seem in character with what we've seen so far, but he only lost 1 lb. His weight loss didn't matter since Tracy's weight was going to count for their team, and it would give him a great jump on next week's weigh-in. Hmm....

Oh, I hadn't thought about that, but it seems a little likely, doesn't it? He did a better job of it than what's his name 2 seasons ago, if he did. OTOH, he's an older guy and had huge losses the first two weeks, so it is possible that he took it easier and just didn't lose much. It will sure be interesting to see next week's weigh in!

hadn't thought about the water loading. But do you think Tracy told him she was going to be the one weighing in? She didn't tell/talk to him about stepping over the line for the 2 lbs or eating the cupcakes.

I didn't find it surprising since he was without a trainer and was just sitting, watching and then doing what he had seen the others do.

I wondered too how she lost so much. Since she is still restricted medically, she must have done really well with food. But I think the first 5 minutes of this weeks show will be interesting, when they show everyone back in the house. I see some very tense moments for Tracy.

Yes I am seeing shades of Icky Vicky in Tracy, but Vicky was smart about it. Thats how she got to the final 4. Tracy is just being crazy.

Man, I was hoping that some of you east coast folks would have seen the show by now and commented . . . guess I will have to wait . . . :rolleyes1

Okay, who else noticed that the only thing that seemed to be plugged was the BL book? I expect them to plug their own stuff on the show -- it's not as sneaky as the other things that they tout.

Maybe, the gum munching was part of it, too? Although I only remember seeing one brand shown.

This episode wasn't as crazy as the last. I would not have done well in the challenge because I don't have good upper body strength. :scared1:

Does anyone think Daniel water loaded because of their immunity or did he just have a bad week with the eating out? :confused3

I thought the gum was definitely an ad since they made sure to show shots of the package. It was subtle for this show ;)

I don't think Daniel water loaded as I don't think he could be that precise to do it. But if he did, it is smart game play if he could be that good with it.

I figure that they are on the show for their health, but there is some big money on the line, and game play is part of it. In many ways I'd rather every week was like week 2, where they are all trying to get the group challenge done and stay in. But there's not enough drama if they did that all the time.

Does anybody remember why Alexandra went home alone and left the black team with one person?

If I remember correctly, it was the black team that was up, and the other contestants had to choose who to save -- they chose Julio since he has a family, at least that seemed to be the criteria...

The BL Book -- Don't Leave Home Without It!

There was also a quick ad for the Wii game, but if you blinked you missed it.

I'm already tired of hearing that "Shay has to be here". Bob and Jillian are right, they all need to be there!

I loved that they went to a Mexican restaurant, because I find that so hard...I wish they would have went over what everyone ate in more detail...I'd like to find something that matches what they serve at my local Mexican place!

I'm wondering how crazy Tracey is managing to lose the weight she's losing without working out. Only thing I can think of is that maybe it still is water weight loss because they mentioned when she was still in the hospital that they'd really hydrated her. Maybe it's just taking her a while to get past that.

Also, did anyone else catch the promo Ali Vincent did about the Biggest Loser Resort?!! www.biggestloserresort.com This show is really becoming big business. I really hope all these moneymaking ideas of theirs don't go too far in taking the focus about healthy lifestyle & weight loss.

I agree, they all need to be there, Shay seems to have more emotional issues than the others (or at least they seem to be pushing that). I liked that Coach Mo got some more airtime this week.

I agree, give more detail about ordering out. But I guess they don't want to give too much information since they want us to buy their books and other stuff.

Yes, I saw that aid with Ali. I checked out the website (thanks for sharing a link) and I though it was very interesting how little information there was. There was no prices, no tentative daily schedules, no sample menus, etc. I would imagine something like that is quite expensive.

Don't hate me cuz my name is Tracey...I'm totally NOT like her!:)

I was really surprised that they didn't show the BL Wii Game last night since it was released yesterday. I know it is supposed to be shown on the show this season.

We faithfully watch the show every Tuesday. I like to do the Wii Fit free step during the first 1/2 hour though instead I walked 5 miles at the track during DH and DD's soccer practice. I'm headed down shortly to do the Wii again tonight. I used to do 2 miles on the elliptical during the first hour but a knee injury ended that. I like Daniel again this season but CAN'T WAIT for Tracey to be sent packing. From the previews it doesn't look good for next week!

It's 1200 calories a day, and $1,995 a week! I think they must have added to the website. I just looked, and they did have a typical, daily schedule. You get a bit of a discount if you buy 4 weeks, and you don't have to do them consecutively.

Really, you could design a similar program at home. Not as easy or as much fun, but I think you could make it work if you really wanted to...
