Biggest Loser 9 Spring challenge -- Part 2! HERE WE ARE! :)

CONGRATS TO TRACEY, THE TOP TEN, and all of us BL challengers. 1224? Are you serious? That is awesome! We have the potential to hit 1250 this week!!! Work it ladies! (Do we have any men??:confused3)

::yes:: yes, we do have some men participants, they just aren't active posters. :goodvibes

Wednesday's QOTD: What is ONE thing you could not live without for this challenge? It could be a food, it could be a workout video, a piece of equipment, whatever....just share what is the most important.

Water bottle! I always do best when I'm drinking my water!

Busy day, just popped in to skim through and answer the QOTD.
Not too sure how this week will be on the scale, but am sticking to the list I committed too :goodvibes

:grouphug: to all who need them.

I will say that this has been a very difficult week for me. There is stress at school as the year begins to wrap up
I.well, for what I get paid at the private school, I could be a substitute teacher (less time commitment) and get paid the same amount (more if I get a long term position). I also have NO benefits at this job - no health insurance, no dental, only 3 sick days (that you can't carry over even) and a million other problems of working in a super small private school. So, the pressure of finding a new job is on.I will share my struggle of the week....running. Wednesday's QOTD: What is ONE thing you could not live without for this challenge? It could be a food, it could be a workout video, a piece of equipment, whatever....just share what is the most important.
Hmm... I don't have just one! It all ties together to give me the results. This great group of people, Kashi bars, yogurt, string cheese, water, and my running shoes!

Jen, you have so much stress going on. The end of school is so tough, I can't imagine a job search, too. It sounds like you've been getting shortchanged, I really hope you can find a job with the pay and benefits that you deserve!

It's is another day with no telephone or internet at home. ALL OF YOU! Thanks for being here and for helping us all on our journeys to a healthier life! :flower1:

:grouphug: That's so sweet, and very true!

Got a little bit of a headache right now.
You've really been plagued with these lately, so sorry!

I am so frustrated. I was down to 142.6 on Monday and didn't think that I was totally off plan, but yesterday I was up 4 lbs:mad: How could I have gained 4 lbs in 1 day :confused3 I drank 60 ounces of water yesterday, took Midol (for the diaretic) and was careful with what I ate, but I was still up this morning. I have no idea what happened.:headache:

The only things I can think of are TOM and tummy bloating... Usually a lot of strong coffee gets things going for me. Did you have a hard, longer run? I've heard that can cause your body to hold on to weight to recover?

::yes:: yes, we do have some men participants, they just aren't active posters. :goodvibes

And just why not, with all the TOM talk lately and the Reds coming to town?

QOTD: The one thing I could not live without is my TM, unfortunately I have been ignoring it this week...and I'm going to pay for it with my weigh in. Sigh. I can literally see my bigger belly, but again, hopefully that's somewhat due to pesky TOM. Gotta pick myself up. I have been improving my food during a very stressful week at work, so at least I'm putting some of the pieces together. Hopefully next week it will all gel, and I will have two solid weeks to end the Challenge!

Maria :upsidedow

Wednesday QOTD: The most important thing for me is will power. If I set my mind to it, I can do it. Having my DH onboard definitely helps. Having a trip in the works never hurts either.

Good evening!
Qotd--My Y membership. I go at least 5 days a week. We've been going since the end of December, and while I wouldn't say I have any "friends" there, I am starting to have people I talk to. It's been a really positive experience.

DH and I ran after work today. I would not say it was a good run. I drank a bunch during the day, but when I got home from the run my weight was at my morning weight. It was really hot--86/87. I didn't feel like I was sweating, but it was so windy I think all the sweat was evaporating. Anyhow, the plan was to walk .6, run 3.8, walk .6. About half way through the run I had to walk. I was exhausted. I ran/walk the rest and finished the 4.8, but wow the heat takes a lot out of you. Tomorrow I am taking a day off. I think even if I wanted to work out, my body would say otherwise.:thumbsup2

maizezoe--I really hope you are feeling better.

Have a nice evening.:goodvibes

I forgot tot answer the QOTD!

I couldn't live without a few things (sorry, I'm greedy!). I need my Leslie Sansone DVDs. I truly enjoy her workouts. I do at least one everyday, usually the 2 mile though somedays I've done the 2, 3, and 4 mile workouts. I also couldn't live without my water bottles. I have one that I drink my BL Protein drink everyday and another for my water/CL Iced tea. My workout clothes are important too! And I'm getting pretty attached to my elliptical again. Oh yeah, and my hand weights. Oh and my Wii has gotten a lot of use lately too! OK, that's enough!

Speaking of the elliptical, I just finished 3 miles. My feet hurt but it was a good workout. I did over 7 miles today! Planning on getting up early to do a 3 mile workout and then a 2 mile at 7:30. Gotta do some more shopping and get more protein powder. No clients scheduled as of yet. I need to go to DD1s school to organize the basket raffle stuff. There's been a sub in for more than a week so I need to check on stuff.

Headache went away. It may be part allergies as my eyes were bothering me today. We had some nasty storms yesterday so it could've also been the pressure changes. At dancing a lot of people were complaining about being really tired this week. Crazy weather around here.

Going to go to an amusement park on Sunday. Moms get in free and also get a free lunch. Redwalker gave me the idea. I have to go to church first and then we'll head up. It's only about 30-40 minutes from here. The weather is supposed to be sunny and 60.

I finally broke down and ordered the Payless Shape-Ups. No stores around here have them but they are being shipped to my local store. I had a coupon so I got them for $31.99. Bad thing is that I have to wait 2 weeks to get them! Patience!!!!

Time to do something productive! Night all!

Thanks for all the good wishes!

Evening all

Today was a day off for workout wise. I'm at the point where both knees are stiffening up. Going to take a bath shortly and hope that helps them get to where they need to be. They were stiff when I started at BL and got back into working out. The squats and lunges knocked the stiffness all the way out of my right knee and most of it in my left, but now its back in both knees. GRRRR.

As for working out I've decide to go back to the schedule i started with which was 3 days on and 1-2 days off depending on whether it was a work weekend for me or not. So as much as my mind craves the workouts, cause it does these days I'm going to going to use this schedule to hopefully get my knees back on track. I did find a stretch DVD i like, but it's $26.00 before shipping so we'll see.

For fun today I tried on the new Trimmer shoes we have at Target, they are like the sketchers and the MBTs for like $28.00 I think:confused3 close to that anyway. Much to my surprise they actually fit and seemed very comfortable. Target shoes NEVER fit my big feet. So this was a first. I walked in em a little bit, and i get the concept. It kinda feels like a walking cast though way more comfy. But I'm not sure how the rolling motion helps tone the thighs:confused3 Cause that's where i need the most work. Anybody wear the Sketchers or similar? I'm curious to see just how well they do work.

I didn't know Target had a brand as well. I'll let you know how the Payless Pace ones are once I get them.

So the QOTD: What I couldn't live without are my water bottle for work, I generally do 24oz during the work day and fill it up with more water at the soda fountain after while waiting for DH. So byt the time I leave the store I've generally had 30-48oz of water. And then I try and take my CSR mug with me to drink while walking hte dog. Although he's getting hip to that. Yesterday while I was cleaning up his "deposit" he tipped my mug over and tried to lap up the water running out:rotfl:

Also couldn't live without my stability ball and my power fit dvd's they make working out so much more enjoyable for me. I actually want to do them after a hard day's work.

I didn't know Target had a brand as well. I'll let you know how the Payless Pace ones are once I get them.

They are brand spanking new. My store just got them last week. I don't think they've even advertised them yet. And only in the Women's sizes. No men's right now.

Hey guys! I hope you are all doing well and had a great day!

I got my diet to go food in today and had the first meal for dinner. It was fettuccini, broccoli and a whole grain roll. It was very good and you could tell it was not all processed food. I am so glad I did this for myself. I would like to do it up until we leave for Orlando in a little over a month, but since its week to week, I can quit anytime. I love the idea that my food is already done for the week and I have to do no planning!

QOTD: You guys here! When I come on here I get support, can complain, get new ideas and motivation. I love you guys, so thanks a million! :flower3:

I am headed to the gym tomorrow if it kills me! No more excuses!

Have a great night. I am exhausted and am headed to my nice, non hotel, bed!

Morning all! I woke up at 4:30 and started thinking about my trip and couldn't go back to sleep. I finally got up at 5:15 and took a 45 minute walk/run. Then I got us checked in online (SWA) and now I'm waiting to take DS to the bus stop.

Glad I was able to get my workout in early, as this will be a busy day. DS has a follow up with the new dermatologist up in Lebanon at 1pm (90 minute drive) so that will take up a big hunk of my day. Then tonight will be the last minute packing, dinner,Survivor, showers, and hopefully both of us in bed before 10pm! I only have a few things left to pack, so I should be able to do that this morning.

If I have time I would like to get in another 30 minutes of exercise. I'm still feeling guilty about the Spanakopeta I ate over the weekend! It was delicious and I made the portion last for two meals, but still....:scared1: I'm sure it is OFF THE CHARTS as far as calories are concerned. It was an impulsive decision I made when my first choice of dinner items wasn't available (swordfish and veggie kabobs) and I should have taken an extra minute to think it out... but it was delicious. But I definitely didn't need a big splurge like that right before my trip!

Gotta run... DS is ready for the bus.................P

Good morning all!

Got in 3 miles so far this morning. 2 more to come at 7:30. Then I'll head to work and do some grocery and b'day shopping for DD1. I also have to get a 1st communion gift for her friend. They are big Disney fans so I'll see what I can find Disneyish or maybe a stuffed animal.

Doing our Cinco Mayo dinner this afternoon before soccer practice. As long as the rain holds off. Turkey gorditas! YUMMY!

Time to finish getting DD1 ready and get clothes laid out for DD2 so I can get my workout in.

Happy Thursday!

Good morning! I'm waiting for my boiled egg to finish cooking, then time to get ready for work. It's supposed to be gorgeous here today, cooler--only 80. We have baseball tonight so that's exciting.

I tried something new this week. Oikos brand Greek chocolate yogurt. It's 110 calories and 10grams of protein, no fat. Normally I just eat plain Greek yogurt with a banana and some Kashi mixed in. The chocolate yogurt is yummy, but I think I'll save it for a treat. It's too sweet for breakfast, but a nice dessert replacement in the evening. I have very little sugar, so it might not be that sweet, but to me it tastes like cake batter that has sour cream mixed in. Yum!

Have a great day everyone!

We had snow flurries this week so it is hard to get in that summer clothes mode. :rotfl2:

We are expecting snow flakes TONIGHT! I am waiting for the warm weather to come back!

Jen I think the bodybugg and counting calories is very easy. The WW points drove me a little nuts...I like exact! Math person here. :goodvibes I have built a few of my meals in the bugg, like my homemade pizza, and yes it's a little bit of a pain but once it's in it's done. The ingredients are mostly in the database already. I really like it too on days when I feast...the other day I ate 2500 calories but I burned 2700 so that's okay - bbb (before bodybugg) I would have just eaten again the next day ("oh well I blew it yesterday so what's the point, my stinkin' thinkin' ), know what I mean?

I might have to look into this again. I have heard a lot of good things about it.

:grouphug: I think we have all experienced this unexpected gain at one point or another. I am not sure what could have happened but hang in there! :grouphug:

Not too sure how this week will be on the scale, but am sticking to the list I committed too :goodvibes

Good for you! I have not stuck to my list very well and it is going to show tomorrow. I am not going up...but I am not going down either. It is like I was in a maintain mode this week.

Jen, you have so much stress going on. The end of school is so tough, I can't imagine a job search, too. It sounds like you've been getting shortchanged, I really hope you can find a job with the pay and benefits that you deserve!

There is a lot more stress then normal. Today I am going to try to deal with some of it as I am going to try to make a list of everything I have to do before the end of the school year. I will feel better once I can see it all and then it will feel great as I cross it all off.

As for the job, I am just hoping to get into any school district here. I would earn so much more and have benefits.

I have been improving my food during a very stressful week at work, so at least I'm putting some of the pieces together. Hopefully next week it will all gel, and I will have two solid weeks to end the Challenge!

Great job on improving your food this week. Sounds like it is all coming together!

Wednesday QOTD: The most important thing for me is will power. If I set my mind to it, I can do it. Having my DH onboard definitely helps. Having a trip in the works never hurts either.

I need to find more will power! :rotfl:

Nice run! :thumbsup2 4.8 is a great workout. I am waiting to see what the heat does to my running...but since we are thinking snow tonight...I guess I will be waiting on that!

I couldn't live without a few things (sorry, I'm greedy!). I need my Leslie Sansone DVDs. I truly enjoy her workouts. I did find a stretch DVD i like, but it's $26.00 before shipping so we'll see.

This new schedule sounds like a good plan. It is so important to listen when your body is hurting. I hope that your knees are able to recover and feel better soon!

And then I try and take my CSR mug with me to drink while walking hte dog. Although he's getting hip to that. Yesterday while I was cleaning up his "deposit" he tipped my mug over and tried to lap up the water running out:rotfl:

My cats are always knocking over my water bottle! :rotfl:

You are always able to fit so much into a day. I also need to look into the DVDs you use because I can't believe how many miles you fit into each day.

Good morning! I'm waiting for my boiled egg to finish cooking, then time to get ready for work. It's supposed to be gorgeous here today, cooler--only 80. We have baseball tonight so that's exciting.

Enjoy your beautiful day and send the warm weather my way!

Thursday QOTD: What is one thing you will commit to today to help you stay on track (or get you back on track, or prepare you for tomorrow's weigh in, etc.)?

Alright, I was going to bike to work...but I am not because it is so cold I have to drive DS to school. I was going to work out this morning but I did not because I overslept (DD had a big dance competition last night and we got home late). I can see this day turning into a full day of "I was going to" and other excuses. So, I am committing to running tonight regardless of the weather. We will have 1 hour while the kids are at dance and I commit to running for the whole hour we wait.

Hope everyone has a happy and healthy sort of day!
Jen

to me it tastes like cake batter that has sour cream mixed in. Yum!
For some reason this sounds delicious!:rotfl:

Yesterday's qotd- I could not live without you all here on the bl challenges. The inpiration and support I have gotten here is amazing. The wii fit and my running shoes would be close seconds.

Have a great day.:)

Thursday QOTD: What is one thing you will commit to today to help you stay on track (or get you back on track, or prepare you for tomorrow's weigh in, etc.)?

I will drink my water today and I will not eat any lorna doones at work. I know that's two, but the doones have been getting to me lately. :rotfl:

QOTD: Well Jen your QOTD has ruined my plans to go and feast when I get off work! :lmao: I am so disappointed in the scale this morning but...it's just a number. I know I'm exercising and eating healthy so I need to go with that, the numbers will follow...eventually...

I will drink my water today and I will not eat any lorna doones at work. I know that's two, but the doones have been getting to me lately. :rotfl:

Hello Kathy! Because of your post, I just filled my water bottle and drank it all. I am on my way to fill it again.

Stay way from the doones! :rotfl:
