Biggest Loser 9 Spring challenge -- Part 2! HERE WE ARE! :)

QOTD: Well Jen your QOTD has ruined my plans to go and feast when I get off work! :lmao: I am so disappointed in the scale this morning but...it's just a number. I know I'm exercising and eating healthy so I need to go with that, the numbers will follow...eventually...

Sorry to ruin your plans! :rotfl2: I am also disappointed in the scale this morning but you are right, it is just a number. I am learning to take this day by day...that is why I am thinking only about my goal for this one day and not the whole week.

Thursday QOTD: What is one thing you will commit to today to help you stay on track (or get you back on track, or prepare you for tomorrow's weigh in, etc.)?

I am going to start journaling again. I always do so much better when I keep a journal of how I feel and what I have been doing and eating.

My breakfast was veggie sausage links and apple pancakes with maple syrup. So yummy!

Getting ready to go clean, pick up some clothes off of craigslist and then go work out.

I hope you are all having a great day!

Good morning! I'm waiting for my boiled egg to finish cooking, then time to get ready for work. It's supposed to be gorgeous here today, cooler--only 80. We have baseball tonight so that's exciting.

I tried something new this week. Oikos brand Greek chocolate yogurt. It's 110 calories and 10grams of protein, no fat. Normally I just eat plain Greek yogurt with a banana and some Kashi mixed in. The chocolate yogurt is yummy, but I think I'll save it for a treat. It's too sweet for breakfast, but a nice dessert replacement in the evening. I have very little sugar, so it might not be that sweet, but to me it tastes like cake batter that has sour cream mixed in. Yum!

Have a great day everyone!

I bought some of the Oikos Chocolate Yogurt the other day. I'm not a fan but I gag it down anyway. I told the kids it was chocolate pudding and gave them each a spoonful. It was hysterical... I doubt if they will ever ask for chocolate pudding again.

QOTD: Well, I certainly need to commit to something...today I will get on my TM and walk when I get home. I have to get back on it, I just can't seem to make myself run (I get mentally blocked when I try to do too much and then I can't --this really is more mental than physical for me), so I'm going to have a nice, energetic walk. I'll enjoy my music, the endorphins will start to flow, and I will be back to exercise. And I haven't had a chip all week -- so at least I'm doing one new good thing!

Maria :upsidedow

Morning all! :)

I'm feeling much better today but I think I am going to skip running and just walk on the bike path for 60 minutes. I may just skip it all and wait until tomorrow. I spent the entire day yesterday working on lesson plans for the rest of our homeschool year. I got it all done. Yeah, me!

Thursday QOTD: What is one thing you will commit to today to help you stay on track (or get you back on track, or prepare you for tomorrow's weigh in, etc.)?

Well, I will commit to watching my salt intake tonight while making dinner. We are having chicken taco's (celebrating Cinco de Mayo a day late... I always do. It's the rebel in me. I celebrate St. Patrick's day on the 18th of March and Cinco de Mayo on the 6th of May... and it's never Fat Tuesday in my house... we have Fat Monday!.)... I was going to use a pre-packaged taco seasoning thing but I am going to make my own taco seasonings so I can keep an eye on the salt level. Too much salt makes me have a gain on the scale.

Thursday QOTD: What is one thing you will commit to today to help you stay on track (or get you back on track, or prepare you for tomorrow's weigh in, etc.)?

I am going to start journaling again. I always do so much better when I keep a journal of how I feel and what I have been doing and eating

Journaling is so important. I need to get better at this. When we first started, EVERYTHING was put in my journal. Now, I sometimes journal and sometimes I don't. I know that this is making a difference in my weight loss - it could be so much better if I would log it all.

Maria - The running thing is totally a mental block for me too. I am planning on a very nice, slow and steady run tonight where I set the pace and DH is just going to have to live with it. I hope you enjoy your walk!

I spent the entire day yesterday working on lesson plans for the rest of our homeschool year. I got it all done. Yeah, me!

Super job on the lesson planning! I need to finish mine up for my class, it takes so much time. I have the general outline but I want to get it all put together so I can feel more prepared when things get crazy.

QOTD: I will commit to only having half of my allotted M&Ms for the day and drinking all of my water. I just finished 30oz of raspberry iced tea so it's time for the water.

Ended up having 1 client for a foot massage today. That's about it for accomplishments for today. Couldn't get DD1 the present I wanted for her b'day yet again. I may have to run to another mall next week to get it. I did get her friend a gift for her communion and more stuff for the baskets for the raffle ans still people are sending in money so I have to get one more thing as well. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. I will have to go out after soccer practice or eat dinner early and meet DH and DD1 at soccer practice so I can pick up some groceries and necessities.

I also still want to get in another 2 miles tonight on the elliptical. Maybe I'll do it during Survivor tonight. I have been putting on the closed captioning on the tv while I do the elliptical so I don't have to have it up so loud!

I'm still up a bit from last Friday so not sure if I will be a loser again this week. I plan on getting in a lot of working out this weekend so I can reach my 50 pound goal by next week. Of course we're going to a party and Saturday and an amusement park on Sunday. Weekends get me everytime! And lately all weekends are full of eating and distractions.

Time for that water!

You're going to start packing now?!? It's not even on my radar yet and you leave only 2 days before I do. You're going to make me feel guilty! :rotfl: We had snow flurries this week so it is hard to get in that summer clothes mode. :rotfl2: I bet you can maintain until the trip. :goodvibes

It's nice that your boss appreciates you! :flower3:

Well I've already gained a pound of that back--that's ok though. With all of your encouragement,--(and the ladies at the dmv making me put 130 even though I told 'em I was 132 that day) maybe I'll try to stay there. In fact a 45# loss sounds good really. What happened of course was I was really working hard, but I had also made up my mind to lose a pound this week to be able to see Iron Man 2. OK so I saw Robert Downey Jr. interviewed, then Mickey Rourke the next night...and they Really motivated me...Lol. So of course I got the initial water loss that comes along with it plus the water loss from coming off the rag. Nutshell. Then I saw Robinhood was coming out and I didn't know quite when yet and it's Russel Crowe-- I adore him and Robinhood's kind of my thing. I had the hugest crush on Errol Flynn after seeing him in it. My email address is LoveofRobinhood, before that on aol it was LoverofRobinhood. So I didn't know if that was coming out on Friday too and if it was then it had to be 2 #'s right? :confused3 Lol.
Today I will start the summer clothes process. That will keep me motivated for tomorrows weigh in. I know-- I am robo planner and it only gets worse the closer it gets to our trip. But if I'm not committed- then it just goes the other way and I forget a lot of stuff.

I am so frustrated. I was down to 142.6 on Monday and didn't think that I was totally off plan, but yesterday I was up 4 lbs:mad: How could I have gained 4 lbs in 1 day :confused3 I drank 60 ounces of water yesterday, took Midol (for the diaretic) and was careful with what I ate, but I was still up this morning. I have no idea what happened.:headache:
I think your scale is messed up-- you should try new batteries maybe.

For fun today I tried on the new Trimmer shoes we have at Target, they are like the sketchers and the MBTs for like $28.00 I think:confused3 close to that anyway. Much to my surprise they actually fit and seemed very comfortable. Target shoes NEVER fit my big feet. So this was a first. I walked in em a little bit, and i get the concept. It kinda feels like a walking cast though way more comfy. But I'm not sure how the rolling motion helps tone the thighs:confused3 Cause that's where i need the most work. Anybody wear the Sketchers or similar? I'm curious to see just how well they do work.

I've got the Sketchers ShapeUps and I love them! Got them in March in the US for $100 (its a lot for a pair of shoes, but much better than $150 they cost locally). Anyhow, I LOVE THEM! They are very comfortable. I haven't noticed any change in my butt or thighs when I wear them, but I do feel it in my calves. Definitely stretches out the calves. I really notice there's a lot more arch support with the Sketchers because of the rounded shape. They are not very cushiony in the ball of the foot, but the rest is great.

Thursday QOTD: What is one thing you will commit to today to help you stay on track (or get you back on track, or prepare you for tomorrow's weigh in, etc.)?

TWO THINGS FOR ME:
ONE:I am not going to have A&W. I am craving it today, and almost went out for lunch, and was considering going with my DD for dinner. But I already told DD we'd be making ham & turkey sandwiches at home for supper. And it will be fun preparing food with her.
TWO: I am going to quit procrastinating and actually get started on the annual report I have to do for the association I'm volunteering with. I've been delaying doing it, because I'm just plain frustrated of the whole process and feeling like nobody else cares, so why should I. End result is I feel quilty at night and have been having trouble getting to sleep. Which makes me feel tired the next day, so I don't want to tackle anything complicated like financial statements, so I don't do it, and then ended up guilty and not sleeping again. So far this week, I been getting 4-6 hours of sleep a night, which is NOT good for weight loss. So I am officially committing to getting it started tonight!

A little off-topic, but my younger DD ended up going to stay with my parents on Tuesday. My DH works out of town, so he took her there on Tues and is bringing her back with him on Friday, so its a few days of just me and the older DD. She's a goofy 8yo and is missing her sister badly. I've been trying to do some special things with her. Last night we cooked dinner together and it is so much easier with just one helper. We made sweet&sour meatballs from scratch. She was awfully cute rolling all the meatballs and mixing things together for the sauce. It was fun, and tonight it will be fun to make our sandwiches together. Much more satisfying than A&W drivethrough, which I still crave the taste of, but would rather have the fun prep time making food with my DD.

Sorry for the long post, just getting my thoughts clear.

Ladies, I need your help.

What is the website that sells running bras for the ladies with bigger "girls"? My hubby is worried about my eyes. ;)

Good afternoon all!

Thank you jenanderson for being our coach this week! And :welcome: to our new coach tomorrow, jennz!

Please be sure to PM those weights to LuvBaloo tomorrow and COW numbers to donac.

This is day three of no phone or internet at home. Don't know when they will get the problem fixed. It's the whole neighborhood. Not much time for internet at work today either -- darn this working for a living! :rotfl:

Thursday QOTD: What is one thing you will commit to today to help you stay on track (or get you back on track, or prepare you for tomorrow's weigh in, etc.)?
Jen

Well, the day is almost over. I committed to getting myself back on track. Step 1 today was journaling every single bite. Step 2 tomorrow getting back on the exercise track. I will be lucky not to lose my clippie tomorrow but it's my own fault and I will get back on track! :thumbsup2

I will drink my water today and I will not eat any lorna doones at work. I know that's two, but the doones have been getting to me lately. :rotfl:

Just say no to the doones! ;)

Today I will start the summer clothes process. That will keep me motivated for tomorrows weigh in. I know-- I am robo planner and it only gets worse the closer it gets to our trip. But if I'm not committed- then it just goes the other way and I forget a lot of stuff.

It's good to be prepared! :cool2:

Thanks for all those PMs about coaching. I will be getting back to you all with dates tomorrow.

Have a great evening all!

:cool1::banana::woohoo::yay: and every other celebratory smilie I can find! Our professor posted grades today - 98 on my Montessori research paper, 100on my final, A for the semester. Now I feel awesome!

I just got home from finally getting the stitches out of my mouth, but I don't want a big celebratory dinner like I really think I do, since tomorrow is weigh in. That's my QOTD!

DD has a 13 page study guide to do for homework, so I'm off to be the homework police!

Morning all! I woke up at 4:30 and started thinking about my trip and couldn't go back to sleep. I finally got up at 5:15 and took a 45 minute walk/run. Then I got us checked in online (SWA) and now I'm waiting to take DS to the bus stop.

Glad I was able to get my workout in early, as this will be a busy day. DS has a follow up with the new dermatologist up in Lebanon at 1pm (90 minute drive) so that will take up a big hunk of my day. Then tonight will be the last minute packing, dinner,Survivor, showers, and hopefully both of us in bed before 10pm! I only have a few things left to pack, so I should be able to do that this morning.

If I have time I would like to get in another 30 minutes of exercise. I'm still feeling guilty about the Spanakopeta I ate over the weekend! It was delicious and I made the portion last for two meals, but still....:scared1: I'm sure it is OFF THE CHARTS as far as calories are concerned. It was an impulsive decision I made when my first choice of dinner items wasn't available (swordfish and veggie kabobs) and I should have taken an extra minute to think it out... but it was delicious. But I definitely didn't need a big splurge like that right before my trip!

Gotta run... DS is ready for the bus.................P

If I had known you were going to be in Lebanon, I would have loved to meet you. I live about 20 minutes from the medical center and I was even in West Lebanon early this afternoon.

Thursday QOTD: What is one thing you will commit to today to help you stay on track (or get you back on track, or prepare you for tomorrow's weigh in, etc.)?

Hope everyone has a happy and healthy sort of day!
Jen

I'm committing to uncluttering my life. I've been working on cleaning the house thoroughly and getting other little things done. I feel like I'm always committed to something and don't have much down time. If I declutter maybe I can breath easier.

I wish my scale was messed up :rotfl::rotfl: Unfortunately it's my body:lmao:

Looking for some advice here. We are leaving tomorrow after work for a girls AAU basketball tournament in Lake Placid, NY. We're staying overnight Friday and Saturday night, with 3 games each on Saturday and Sunday. All the families are in the same hotel. At practice tonight, everyone was talking about the food etc they are bringing - cheese and crackers, pepperoni, cookies, other munchies...oh and lot and lots of wine. OMG,OMG, OMG. I bought a big bag of grapes and other fruit and plan to make a fruit plate so that I have some healthy choices. But i have to admit this - I LOVE to graze!! I am so afraid of losing control. Doe anyone have any good self control tips for me??? :confused3

QOTD: I will commit to only having half of my allotted M&Ms for the day and drinking all of my water. I just finished 30oz of raspberry iced tea so it's time for the water.

I can't believe you planned on giving up 1/2 your allotted M&Ms! Good for you though!

I just got my driver's license renewed and for the first time in YEARS...I did not mind putting down my weight (I lied by 4 pounds). :goodvibes

Sorry I do not know the answer but this made me laugh...I love that it is coming from your hubby! :rotfl:

Thank you jenanderson for being our coach this week! And :welcome: to our new coach tomorrow, jennz!

Thanks for all those PMs about coaching. I will be getting back to you all with dates tomorrow.

I always enjoy coaching and feel it really helps me focus. I am sorry that I have not gotten back to you with dates I can help out the next round. I will for sure help with things you need though! :thumbsup2

:cool1::banana::woohoo::yay: and every other celebratory smilie I can find! Our professor posted grades today - 98 on my Montessori research paper, 100on my final, A for the semester. Now I feel awesome!

YEAH! I am so proud of you! This is great news!!!! BTW...I taught in a Montessori school for a year. Are you working on your Montessori degree?

I'm committing to uncluttering my life. I've been working on cleaning the house thoroughly and getting other little things done. I feel like I'm always committed to something and don't have much down time. If I declutter maybe I can breath easier.

I so need to work on this as well!

Jude - Water...Drink TONS of it! I have been avoiding food situations at work by drinking TONS of water so that I feel full and do not graze as much. Make the fruit tray and bring veggies as well - buy the huge bag of baby carrots. If you want to graze...just take a nibble of whatever it is and then drink more WATER! Find the smallest servings of things you want to try - or better yet, split it with someone. DRINK MORE WATER! :rotfl2:

Seriously Jude...you CAN do this. Bring with your running gear as well and try to find a bit of time to run so you can burn off some calories as well.

Good luck with it. Here is a motivating thought to help you through it...print it out and bring it with you to remind you of your goal...

We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline and effort.

Just a quick post as it's almost my bedtime -- I did walk 4M when I got home! I am so proud of me for actually doing what I committed to do, and finally getting back on the TM! I am looking forward to getting up and running 4M tomorrow, and then 8 on Saturday. Thanks for the little push to get moving again!

Maria :upsidedow

:lmao: I normally eat the plain, and I don't eat much sugar, so that's probably why I think it's so good. I can see my DS giving me quite the look if I tried to get him to eat it. You know you've come a long way when you think Greek yogurt is a treat!

Busy day today. Work and then we went to a baseball game. Tomorrow I'm getting up early to go to the Y before work and then there is another game. My DS is coming home for a visit on Saturday.:cool1: We haven't seen him since Easter. He'll be here until Thursday and then back to S.C. He's working on a campaign this summer. Can't wait to see him!

Hope everyone has a good weigh in tomorrow.:goodvibes
