Biggest Loser 2009 - Couples 2

Another thing Mandi didn't get was if she wanted her sister to stay she needed to stay to protect her.

That makes me go hmmmmm.....

I want Tara to win. I like her for some reason. Although I would be happy with Mike. I am no longer a fan of the boo-hoo cousins.

Why should Ron have gone home this week? I thought it was Mandi that gained weight? I think she did it on purpose so she could go home to her family....she even voted for Ron to avoid the chance of not being sent home.

Well he should have gone home last week. The blue team cries about not winning & they send their best people home.

Tara I think gets the sometimes to lose weight you have to put yourself first & she comes off bad. Now this week she is learning to balance herself & her team.

I agree that Filipe should have spoken up in the gym when Jillian passed him by instead of fuming about it ... and that fuming built and built during the show.

I told my DD, though -- the likelihood of overweight people taking a night out once in (how many weeks?) 8 weeks is much more probable and realistic than overweight people spending 6 hours a day in a gym, every day for the rest of their lives .... You can't do 100% 100% of the time. :confused3

The caloric count, however, was staggering. I was very surprised with the calorie content of the shrimp cocktail. If they'd "splurged" with dinner and stopped before the tequila hit the table, it would have helped. Because usually alcohol will lead to more eating ....

I'm all for Tara -- she's very competitive and reminds me so much of a friend of mine. Mike would be my second choice.

IMHO, Ron should have been ditched weeks ago.

I must be the only one that likes Kristen. I don't want her to win because I am pulling for Mike all the way but she strikes me as a fun loving person that will do very well on her own eventually. She is competitive and talks trash like all of them but that is part of the game. She seems to be enjoying herself and that is half the battle.

Filipe was unreal. I hate people that don't own up to things. That is one of the reasons some of them are overweight to begin with. I can't stand either of the cousins and Tara and Lara rub me the wrong way. Go Mike! :cheer2:

I agree with you on all counts.

So ... if the Black Team had to pick who do you think they would have sent home? From a game-play standpoint I would say Kristen. She's the biggest threat on that team.

Yep.:thumbsup2 Now if Blue falls below, Aubrey is next.

So that leaves the 3 Musketeers. Ron, Kristen, and Cathy.

Add in Sione, Filipe, Helen, Mike.

Say goodbye to Tara and Laura.

Either way, I see it as an "all Bob ending". I cannot see Tara or esp. Laura making to the end. Just no way.:confused3

So I am going to root for Mike.

I agree. I think they should have sent Ron home a long time ago!! They will never win a challenge with him around. It doesn't even look like he tries. I am all for his son Mike tho.... GO MIKE!!!

I agree, I wonder why they were going to vote out Aubrey? Perhaps they were unaware of the Kathy, Ron, Kristen alliance? They need to break up that voting block soon, if that is the case...

Yea, but the purple gals know what they are doing and so does Ron.

They are eliminating Jillian's team first. Ron knows he will go eventually. He just wants to rub out Aubrey first.

However it is not necessary and really he is dumb because they have the numbers. He really needed to start with the purple gals if he wanted to save his son.

I think the purple gals have got him whipped.;)

I really liked Filipe until his temper tantrum last night. He acted like a four year old child. "You spend more time with them than you do me." Give me a break.

I don't get the tears and gasping over the change of trainers. Are they losing weight for the trainer or for a healthy life? They act so dependent on this one trainer - I'm not sure how they'll survive "real life" once they get home and don't live with Bob.

I like Mike. Someone mentioned he was 16; I thought he was a few years older - like in college? He mentioned the week they gave out the groceries that one college kid doesn't really need all those groceries.

I also like Kristen. She has a sense of humor and she is really trying to lose the weight. I loved it when she put the picture of Filipe on the treadmill.

Cannot stand Tara or Laura. Laura doesn't seem to have will-power. I cannot imagine she'll lose the weight when she returns home. Tara just seems to think she's a shoe-in to win. Guess she'll have to do more than lose "0" next week.

I've enjoyed the show this season, but could do without the 40 minute weigh-ins.

No, no. They were speculating on who they thought the Blue was going to go for.

But didn't Laura confirm that blue would vote out Aubrey???

Also, did we ever find out what Kristen's "medical reason" for not doing the challenges was??

No Laura was guessing then and then she went and talked with them and they were determined to vote out Mandi.
So, they decided as a threesome to vote off Cathy.
And then of course Mandi bailed on them.:headache:

I have no idea Kristen's medical issue.:confused3

I think Ron needs to leave. Honestly, who does he think he is to determine alone who goes home? He can't keep up, they lose challenges and he needs to go.

He doesn't give a rat's behind. He is only looking out for his son. In fact the situation he is in is great for him to vote off Jillian's team.

Now at first I thought he was "so thoughtful" with his other speeches however it became clear what his agenda is and I can't stand him.

My thoughts:

1) The reason Tara did not match herself up against someone was to save her own behind. She was banking on losing a lot like usual (but waterlogging some to save up for next week), so even if Black lost, she was banking on them voting out Laura over her. However, she messed up on her waterlogging, not realizing how the luxury would affect her, resulting in a zero loss. She said she made one mistake. I think that mistake she meant was the waterlogging, not the overindulging.

2) If this show really wants to be about losing weight, then BL needs to do away w/ permanent teams for weigh-in purposes. Go ahead and divide them out for the trainers if they want, but they should randomly be divided into teams right before weigh-in and then go bakc to the 60 minutes between weigh-in and voting. That would virtually do away w/ the waterlogging and help minimize alliances some. Heck, if it were up to me, they would even break up who is with what trainer, especially after seeing the problems w/ the cousins this season. They could switch it up weekly or even more often. They also need to stop w/ the couples/friends/etc stuff and get back to picking individuals like in the beginning.

It just boggles my mind that no one from the Black Team has gone up to Kristin and her mother and said:

"Once again, you have decided to eliminate your best player because Ron said so. This man you blindly follow has gallantly led you into defeat, after defeat, after defeat, and you continue to do everything he says, which will only result in defeat, after defeat, after defeat. This game isn't even competitive anymore. We partied for an entire day and you still couldn't beat us. Do you think that would have happened if Dane were here? Come on, get rid of Ron and at least make this interesting again."

I almost forgot my other outrage over the temper tantrum!!!

When Fillipe told Bob that the black team was all about game play and the blue team was about losing weight I almost puked!!! UM HELLO?! Bob is the puppetmaster of all the gameplay, but I guess since he is one of the puppets he doesn't see it....

I am not cheering for anyone at this point (maybe Mike a little...)

I totally came back to the thread today to post this!!! Can you even believe that??? Good grief...did they not remember the whole "Dane and no one else" thing. And how ticked he was at them when they sent home Blaine instead because he asked them to? Bob is all about the game. Jillian is about the weight loss on her team and THAT is why she always wins.

I will be really sad to see new trainers. I love Jillian. Wouldn't miss Bob though. He's a jerk.

The Kristen thing--we have to remember that it's all in the editing as far as how much we see her. I would imagine they tape everyone talking all the time. But Kristen is funny and has an engaging personality so her cuts make the final episode whereas others are probably cut.

Mike is 18--had to be to go on the show so he could sign the waivers and whatnot.

YOu really need a Tivo or DVR to watch this show.;)

NOt only the eating aspect of it, but alcohol totally screws with your metabolism. Slows it way down. So they ate more because of the alcohol and then didn't have the same ability to burn it off. Stupid stupid stupid. And yes, in a normal dieting person binges are going to happen but when you are on TBL AND have a chance at winning, waiting it out seems the wiser choice.

Either way, I see it as an "all Bob ending". I cannot see Tara or esp. Laura making to the end. Just no way.:confused3

So I am going to root for Mike.

I have been thinking about this and am confused. It's based on total percent lost right? So, if Kristen has a higher percentage of weight to lose in the first place how could Tara(or anyone) win against her if they both get to their ideal weight? I'm confused. Is there some math segment I am not getting?

I agree 100%, and I hope the rest of her team realizes it, too.
