Biggest Loser 2009 - Couples 2

Wow! They look good!

I'd love to find spoiler pictures of Mike and Kristin. I am hoping one of them wins.

Also, I am new to this thread and have only watched the show sporadically this season (it comes on against NCIS and The Mentalist which are two of my favorite shows, so I really only watch TBL when they are repeats) but what is the deal with Kristin and having a baby? Was that ever mentioned? I am assuming that she is having infertility issues and they believe it is due to weight?

I think Kristin really wants a baby and the weight she was when she came on the show is definately not safe to have a baby. I am not sure if they ever got any further in depth in it than that - I may have missed that part

Jillian just posted on her blog and wants to set the record straight. She said she DID work out with Filipe and Sione - she took them surfing and taught them boxing. She said she bought them St. Christopher medals and sent their wives and children Asics shoes. She even said she had been neglecting her other team members to help them. Then she said that Filipe did something very hurtful to her off camera (didn't say what it was) but she told him she needed a day to cool off. She said she didn't do the one-on-one for ONE day with him and he knew she wasn't going to and knew why. Makes me like them even less than I already did.

ooooooh, why they didn't show at least a little part of this......I am thinking after this season is done I am done with all of reality shows between The Bachelor and the last couple of season of BL.:sad2:

No wonder Jillian looks burnt out...I would be also if I was treated like that by the players and producers!

I like this show but I must admit that we only see what the show wants us to see and their editing can create certain things. I haven't read this whole thread but will try to keep up with it now that I have found it.

Anyone think when they all come back at the end Kristen will come back preggers? That happened a couple of seasons ago with a woman in the final three.

I saw this last season. As some of you may know, I know Heba and they really edited things to make things look and sound worst than what they were to begin with. The producers really know how to throw a show!

Jillian's blog is on her website
Jillianmichaels.com but it is a paid website. She usually blogs about challenges/contests that she holds. She does a Biggest Loser recap but doesn't always go into what happens on the show. You could tell she was pretty upset at how she was protrayed. She is extremely sweet and supportive on her site.

OMG Sione is a hottie! I thought he looked pretty good at the weight he's currently at on the show and I even like the beard and I'm not usually into beards like that. Niiiiice!

btw that bottom pic link is actually Blaine, not Dane. I do wonder what Dane looks like now though, he seems like one of those people who will look like a totally different person when thin.

and I am totally sick of Ron dictating who should go, his butt should be at home!

Don't forget that once they take about the "team" voting you can only vote for who is in the bottom 2. Right now there are still 3 "original" Jillian players to Bob's 6 (I think). So as long as those players stay above the yellow line (and they are pretty consistant at the top...notice Jillian's team - whoever she's trained - have always been on the top. Even F&S are in the middle or at the bottom when they train with Bob) then they can't get voted out. So I'm still voting for an "original" Jillian member to win. Reguardless.

One other note...in the "record books" like wiki and all. They will give both Jillian and Bob credit for members that were forced to switch teams. They did that for Ali. She equally trained under both.

That makes more sense. So much of what we see is manipulated by the editing but I have also heard on interviews where they ask if they were portrayed accurately and most say yes. But that doesn't mean that everything happened the way we were to believe it happened.

One thing that has kinda stuck w/me about Sione is during the bike 24 hour challenge he said he wouldn't quit because that is what he's always done, so he wanted to keep riding. But then the minute they switch up trainers he says I feel like quitting and he's said it more than once.

I don't always like the way Bob and Jillian treat the members of their team, but they get results which shows that you can be successful regardless of which trainer you have if you work hard and I think that is what both of them want. They want people who want it and will work for it 24/7. But the drama comes in because it is such a drastic different lifestyle than what they are accustomed to and they are isolated from home and family and have camera's filming almost everything.

I'm not sure who I'm rooting for yet, last season I really wanted Michele and she won, and I wanted Ali and she won. I like watching the results show but wish they spent more time talking with the contestants (it is a game) than they do.

Yes you are.;)

It is based on your individual loss (starting weight/final weight). The percentage of loss is relative.
Thank you. My brain was overthinking things I think. :)

I am glad she set the record straight. I had thought it was just that one day that she didn't work with him and I was also guessing that she did it because of something that was up with him. It sucks that the show portrayed her as the bad guy. I really like Jillian.

Did I hear Filipe right when he went cry babying to Bob saying that she didn't work him out all week?

Well, I'm STILL confused on the total percentage of body weight issue...

If someone starts out at 200 lbs and their ideal weight is 150 and they reach it at the finale, they have lost 50 pounds, which is 25% - right?

If someone starts out at 350 lbs and their ideal weight is 150, they have reached it at the finale, they have lost 200 pounds, which is 57% - right?

Seriously, I am confused. I understand how it works on a weekly basis, because the lighter people need to lose fewer actual pounds than the bigger people. I get confused once people have reached their goal weight...

Your percentages are correct. The person who started out at 350 would win because they lost a higher percentage of weight. They had more weight to lose, so they can afford to lose a higher percentage of weight. If the 200 pound person lost 57% of their weight, they'd weigh 86 pounds, which is probably not a healthy weight for them unless they are extremely small and petite.

The people who weigh more do have an advantage in that they have more weight to lose so they can afford to lose a higher percentage of body weight. However they face the additional challenge to drop the extra pounds to achieve that percentage in a very short period of time (in relation to TBL time frame anyway).

So... In my example, if the 350 pound person lost 91 pounds, they would have lost 26%.

One person would weigh 150 pounds and one would weigh 259 at the finale. The 259 pound person would win because their total percentage of weight loss is 26%.

But, we've still never seen anyone win BL who hasn't reached their goal weight, have we?

I think an even better twist would be to have them weigh in again after a year! Keeping it off has got to be so hard, as we have seen so many past BL winners gain much of the weight back.

Oooo--That would be cool. I would love to see some past contestants.

Didn't Ali - season 5 winner - meet her goal weight? She started at 234 and finished at 122. And the same season Mark went from 285 to 156.

Are there any pictures of past winners? Before - After - After shots?

Ojay so I am back to this issue. That is what I thought to begin with. So Kristin because she had a higher percent to lose, would win by reaching her goal weight instead of say Tara reaching her goal weight. So really in this case, the more you have to lose, the further ahead you are in a way.

Yes, I know I have seen Kelly and Bernie and some others. I think it was on the Biggest Loser website.
