So, I am sure by now everyone knows about the mistake with automated reservations this morning. I wonder what they are going to do for all the irate guests that don't know to call back.
 
I asumed that would be the case from the start, but I just called to confirm with a cc and the agent told me we would have lost the ressie at midnight! It is a computer glitch and would happen automatically.
 
Obviously they were able to make a correction to preserve reservations. Otherwise, openings would have showed up today.
 

I called this morning to make sure I didn't need to add a cc and she put me on hold, came back and said they have a release saying they are aware of the problem and it isn't going to effect existing ressies.
 
My reservation without a CC hold is still showing today. I wasn't about to call in again, so I figured I'd just see what happened. I couldn't imagine that they would just cancel a ton of reservations made legitimately using the default method in their system where all of the requested information was supplied. Can you imagine the mess for the next 2 months when those people show up at the confirmed time?

That was true, at first, but when so many of us were calling back to add our cc#, I think they realized the enormity of the problem, and changed it to honor the ones made before they shut the line down and fixed the problem.
