Park hopping and LLMP strategy

I’m looking for advice on how to handle our LLMP bookings, given we plan to do two parks in one day. We’re experts with the LLMP system but have never used it with park hopping, so I’m trying to figure out the best option.

We’re going with my husband and two toddlers. One is (hopefully) tall enough to ride some of the bigger rides now, so we’re trying to hit some of those for him. We’re doing Epcot and Hollywood Studios in the same day, and these are the below rides that we’d like LL’s for:

Epcot
- Test Track
- Frozen Ever After
- Soarin
- Remy’s (lowest priority)

Hollywood Studios
- Slinky Dog
- MMRR
- Toy Story Mania
- Alien Swirling Saucers
- Smuggler’s Run (lowest priority)

This gets tricky because I know we’re “locked” with tiers for our first park choice. We aren’t tied to starting at a certain park. It seems like we have a few options here.

1. Start at HS and book LLs as early as we can, switching to booking Epcot LL’s as soon as we use our first one
2. Start at HS and use standby, booking LLs for Epcot in the afternoon
3. Start at Epcot and book LLs as early as we can, switching to booking HS LL’s as soon as we use our first one
4. Start at Epcot and use standby, booking LLs for HS in the afternoon

I think we have too many popular rides we want to do for option 2/4 to be successful, but I think 2 would be slightly better than 4. My biggest fear with options 1/3 is missing out on the top attractions by delaying booking LL’s. If we started at HS and booked our three initial ones there, I’m hesitant to think we could get a Test Track and a Frozen Ever After before they sell out for the day.

Unfortunately a lot of your choices are Tier 1 so impossible to book as you are planning. I'll highlight (in red) below the Tier 1's you have listed in each park which will show the first challenge.

Epcot
- Test Track
- Frozen Ever After
- Soarin
- Remy’s (lowest priority)

Hollywood Studios
- Slinky Dog
- MMRR
- Toy Story Mania
- Alien Swirling Saucers
- Smuggler’s Run (lowest priority)
All attractions I've highlighted in red are Tier 1 so upon initial purchase you would be able to choose 1 of those (in the park you purchase LLMP for) and 2 Tier 2 attractions in the same park.

Your plan is one you may wish to review due to the limitations of Tier 1 and Tier 2 bookings.

Once you tap into your first LL you can attempt to book/modify your reservations and can book any tiers you wish but the attractions you want may not be available as they are most popular.

Here is my “if I were you”….
Pre-book and start and HS:
-Slinky
-TSM
-Aliens
Rope Drop MMRR
Tap into your first LL ASAP and try to book Frozen or Test Track. Then head to Smuggler’s Run for standby and then your next LL.
Then just keep trying for Test Track or Frozen (whichever you don’t get with your first LL) and then with your third, pick up Soarin.

The main problem is Slinky. It’s the one ride of all of your top picks that will 100% sell out, and probably even before the day begins!

I think this strategy is totally do-able and you may only have one or two long standbys your whole day! (Remy and Test Track also have single rider but only works if your kiddos are over 7 and brave☺️.)

I'd do DHS first. If you are staying on site, you should have okay luck getting an early DHS LL and then you can try to get Frozen or Test Track at that point, Frozen will be the easiest at that time. If you aren't staying on site and booking during a busy time you might not be able to get Slinky Dog at all. To get Test Track you are going to just have to refresh frequently, I was able to snag one around 2pm during Thanksgiving break with the refresh method but the Test Track "normal" ones were gone before the park even opened.

This is what I was thinking too, with potentially splitting up at rope drop with one of us doing Slinky and one of us doing MMRR. We're staying onsite so can prebook 7 days in advance and will have early access, so hopefully with all of that we can tackle what we need. Even if we can't get an early Slinky I'm not too concerned as we're staying at Swan, so easy enough just to bop back to HS later in the evening if needed to ride Slinky. It'll just hold up one of our LL spots but it's our #1 must do ride so if we have to, so be it.

I'm okay with missing Remy's (it makes me motion sick, lol). So I think I'll monitor sell-out times for Frozen and Test Track and use that to judge which should be our first selection after scanning in at HS

We're going next week so I'm hoping it won't be insanely busy 🤞

My only experiences with LLMP at HS has typically resulted in SDD being a later in the day return time. I would start at HS, prebooking TSM, Aliens, and SDD (seeing what your return time would be and determine how much "hopping" is required to keep it while trying to do Epcot). Modify whatever you can to the earliest times you can get before park day. EE MMRR then head to the earliest LL, tap in and start booking for Epcot. Also keeping in mind if you decide to do SDD standby at the end of the night, modify it to another Epcot ride.

Looking forward to your report of how it went.

This is what i would do as well. We were able to start at HS rope drop what we wanted...had LL for slinky, tot and alien. After booking was able to grab a remy, then with refreshing after TSM got a test track and finished with a soarin. Frozen never showed up for us.

We used Option 3 on a recent visit. We started in Epcot with Test Track, Soarin and Spaceship Earth prebooked. As soon as we checked in for Test Track, I dropped the other two and picked up Frozen, Remy and RnR.

Fortunately, Remy has a mid-morning lull almost every day, so we hit that one via standby with a pretty short wait and rolled that pass over to Tower. We hopped on the Skyliner after Remy and did a few things over at DHS before eventually returning to Epcot for Frozen. Keep in mind that the return window has been extended to 2 hours beyond the listed time, making it very easy to make it back to an attraction later in the day.

From your DHS list, everything can be picked up pretty easily as a 5th, 6th or 7th pass except for Slinky. That one sells out pretty quickly and only has a limited number of additional passes made available each day.

You can find the additional release times on the Thrill Data website, but you have to be ready because those go very fast. You may have better luck waiting until later in the day when the lines starts to get shorter.

Have fun!

This is the best option. Slinky is very hard to get even seven days out, so you need to have that pre-booked. We have managed to grab almost immediate MFSR early in the day, so you could try for that if you don’t see Frozen or Remy. Keep trying for those through the day. We have even pulled them mid afternoon while having a rest at Dolphin.
