Cruise Director for The Treasure?

In early March it was Christiaan. Hopefully someone who has sailed more recently can chime in!

Is it me, or does it seem like they are rotating the CDs more frequently these days?

I went on her in October and it was David from the UK. In Feb of 2025 , I think it was Trent from Australia but I think he went over to Destiny if I remember correctly. I know we were talking to some officers at formal night and some of them were moving to launch the Destiny.

I have never been on a DCL cruise, so forgive my question. Does it make a difference to a guests experience depending who the cruise director is?
I don’t know how much freedom the cruise director has to change the activities. From my 6 DCL cruises, there wasn’t a huge difference from the activities available - they all had crafts, learn to draw, trivia, broadway shows. The cruise director is probably the most visible CM on the ship, they introduce the Broadway shows, do announcements over the ship about the activities going on. They do a morning show with the assistant cruise director each day that they show on the ship tv.

On DCL? Not at all.

On other cruise lines? Yes, as the CD hosts many events throughout the cruise.

On DCL, the CD does not host any activities/events (unless you count introducing the show in the theater - which I don't). It's more of a managerial/oversight role as opposed to other cruise lines where the CD is very much the "emcee" of the cruise, if you will. On DCL, the adult/club host has a far greater impact on your experience than the CD.

The only time I've really noticed the CD making a difference is in watching the "Good Morning Disney ______" shows. Some of the CDs are much more engaging/entertaining than others (and some are perhaps a little much, lol). We had Peter as the CD on the eastbound transatlantic last year, and he was just kind of blah, both on the GMDF and in person. It didn't really affect the cruise overall; however, I do remember this about him so he did stand out (not in a good way).

On the Treasure, Sage and Coriander you see a lot of off when on board. They tell stories in the atrium, do the jungle cruise thing, the Indiana Jones Choose Your Own Adventure, they have pirate versions for Pirates night and host a Pirate version of Match your Mate that was hysterical my last Treasure cruise.

Thank you for all your responses. It’s really interesting how entertainment style is different on different cruise lines. Some of our British cruise lines cater to a demographic who seem to prefer a more formal and traditional style of dining and entertainment. DCL seems much more relaxed and inclusive.

They are the ship's "storytellers". Just emphasizes my earlier point how the CD has little to no effect on your experience. There are several other cast members (like the storytellers, adult host, or other members of the entertainment team that host things like trivia) who will have a much greater impact on your cruise than the CD.
