Big changes coming to Fantasyland

I've been fighting the urge to book a trip, and save up for next summer's trip. Now I want to go one more time before they start tearing everything up! Too much temptation! :scared1::rotfl:

Bumping this up in case any weekday CB readers haven't heard about the changes yet.

This sounds great but once again Boys get left behind. I have all boys. They love Disney World but Disney seems to consistantly forget them. Its all Princesses all the time. What about boys??? You can't tell me that they can't create rides or attractions geared towards boys~ adventure , villians, thrill rides. As a result of being overlooked my boys are looking forward to Harry Potter World and keep asking to go there. Disney better wake up. Parents of boys are getting tired of the cold shoulder.

Pshaw! What about the "Pirate" phenomenon going on at WDW? The Pirates League, the Pirate Tutorial, also the Jedi Training Academy? Star Tours is getting an upgrade too. What's the problem?

Boys haven't been forgotten. Stuff and nonsense.

I personally would love to see more villains themed stuff (maybe even heros/villains) but I am super excited about the Fantasyland rehab. Looks like we'll have to make a 2012 trip!

Phew! So glad to see that they will rebuild Mickey and Minnie's houses in the front of the park..:thumbsup2 The Magic Kingdom just wouldn't be the same without those two houses and my ADULT DD would probably spend the rest of her life severely depressed if they were gone from the park entirely..

Although my DGD is getting a little too old for all of the Princess stuff, it sounds pretty neat to me and I'm sure a lot of little girls will be very, very happy! :goodvibes

Today at lunch I was telling my friend about this. She knows I'm not big on the princesses or Tink and she was giving me a very hard time over it. But I did tell her that it would be cool to see what all they do.

Now if they said they were adding a Mulan section I'd be thrilled. ;)

I think it's very exciting! But help me here, other than moving Dumbo, the other Fantasyland rides stay? (Small World, Peter Pan, Pooh, Philharmagic, tea cups, etc.) They are expanding the area so there is still room for all these and the new things, right? (Can you tell I am worried?)

This is my concern also. It looks like the illustration shows everything behind the castle is going to be changed. I hope not. I hope the new FL is an "addition" to the already existing FL.

If you look at the white map...not the artist rendering, you can see where everything is....nothing is moving except for Dumbo. It doesn't say anywhere that they are getting rid of the other rides...this is just an expansion.

Phew!!! Thanks for clarifying this.:)

It's like everything else in life when you have boys. I wished there were a few more things too, but luckily my little one loves all things Yo Ho.
