Day three MGM...or How to make a Grown Man Cry.
As usual, we get up late. Suprise. I am talkin' like 8 or 8:30 am. So by the time the five of us get up and to it it is late, as usual. But dh is ticked about the wake up calls and calls them something other than "cute" and wants me to knock off the planning (yeah because I've done a GREAT job so far!) and he wants to wake up without force...fine...what about some hanky panky, is that good for wake ups??
We love the Polynesian. It is perfect in every way, even at 320 a night a non balcony room is amazing. That smell is real! I swear it. The grounds are gorgeous...(excluding night time when walking back to Fiji from the TTC. That walk sucks. Good thing I have great personality and am a friendly girl, with melons, because some guy says to me..."I will show you to your room from here. (Meaning the TTC) which is all fine and good but I explain to him that I then must allow my children and husband to follow along). So super nice TTC guy shows us the way and we still manage to get lost.
Anyway the Poly can not be beat and that monorail access

and view of the lagoon is perfect. At night we watched Wishes from the beach and the kids would swim in the volcano pool.
So we eat our in room breakfasts and head out to MGM...only the busses at the Poly seem REALLY slow. Now, of course they seem slow to a person who has never been onsite before and whos first park encounter was accessed via boat OR monorail. How dare they expect US, the Poly people, TO WAIT for a bus. But in all seriousness we waited probably 30 mins and by then people were crowding the waiting area. My dh is nice. I am not. I am competative and I start to get irked when a throng of people who had been waiting all of 5 mins start bleeding onto MY bus. Why do people do that anyway?? Busses have a line JUST like the teacups people...and the back is WAAAY back THERE....
But I force myself and my family onto that bus and we BARELY make it behind the line. I am so close to that line I have to suck in my tummy-after-kids...and other various parts that are protruding. I feel for people with strollers on busses. Really, I do. it must suck, big time.
We get off the bus and head for the gates of MGM and I have to say I am a drama queen and LOVE any and ALL stage productions, even the ****** Monolougues. I love them all...not ******s just stage productions, and am rally looking forward to this.
Secretly I am hoping a CM in MGM management will see my superior beauty and talent in the singing and acting category and invite me to play a princess. (DO NOT LIE ladies...you know you want it too) We get another stroller and head off to RNRC and TOT because we are thrill riders, all except little chicken girl...wussy. But I refuse to be psychomom and just agree to the chicken swap idea.
RNRC is awesome, awesome, awesome, the only thing that would make it better is Jon Bon Jovi IMO because any man with lips bigger than mine scares me. I do love Aerosmith. I do!
I also LOVE how every Disney attraction throws you into a story line. It is very cool. We often say we missed so much of WDW because we did not have to wait in lines while we were there (and because of our tardiness) we often ran through the queing areas.
That take of of RNRC was awesome...that's all I can say about it. It was great!!
So we make our way to TOT...
gee...I wonder where they get the dramatics from....case in point...
our oldest daughters like to ride TOT all while screaming in a very realistic tone "We are all gonna die!!!"
They LOVE TOT. I love TOT. We all love TOT. You must ride...even if you think you will be freaked out, who cares, go stand in the baby line and go play on the HISTK playground if you can't handle this because you don't deserve it anyway!!!

jk.
Then it is off to see BB show! I love this and have waited months to see this show and MGM is the ONE park I would not miss...honestly. well MGM and MK of course.
This is a great little show, so colorful and magical. I sing the theme song regularly at home and TRY to get dh to sing the "beast" part but he won't do it...he says he only plays "beast" in bed...
(I never said this was a G rated report people lighten up)
anyway the durn show brings the guy to tears. He is crying. Real tears. He likes to blame it on head injuries sustained in a terrible car accident in 1997, 1996, 1994 and 1992 but I know better.
You can see the tears streaming down his face.
We hit Ariel, the vegas casino for preschoolers that is Playhouse Disney, The Muppets (toooo funny) must do.... and the Great Movie Ride. Loved it...even Sigourney Weavers butt in white at 30 feet wide impressed me...sorry Princess Aurora but it did!!! And once again it is one of those rides mom and dad can ride "Alone"
Speaking of riding alone, I have an idea. Knowing that there are thousands of hard up parents touring WDW every day who have not had a second alone (unless they are loaded and hire the Fairy Godmothers to babysit) but we are cheap...we don't need a babysitter...remember we have Tylenol.
I think WDW should post clear posters for moms and dads who want a little "privacy" as "MAKE OUT ATTRACTIONS" this would make such useless attractions like Figment very popular with more families, dontcha think?
I may write WDW a letter on behalf of starved parents around the world...
anyway I we are having a great time at MGM seeing nothing at this point. We walk...we stop and get tatoos...get some piercings...not really but tatoos yes...and realize our ADR for SCI FI is almost upon us. Only we haven't SEEN half of the park at this point and it is value season and the park closes in three hours and there is only ONE LMA show the whole day and it happens to be right before our ADR...not to mention Indiana's show...missed that too. Millionaire, yep missed. One Mans Dream was not our reality. And so it goes...
we went to Sci fi where we waited some more for food we were not hungry for and that was served in GINORMOUS proportions....notice at this point we have had only about 4 meals our whole trip. That's not because I am leaving them out, it's because we hardly have time to eat and we do not like to eat all that much. We'd rather be scaring the beejeezus out of some poor kid on TOT....or spending prime touring time baking in the hot sun while playing on the HISTK playground area.
(and I call myself a Disser...ya'll otta be ashamed of me...because my touring plans suck)
we are sooo screwed in August aren't we???
Sci Fi was fun for about the first hour then it got old. The movies are on a loop so get out as fast as you can or you'll be in rerun hell. Some of you are thinking "what a stupid blonde, does she not realize they are already RERUNS??" ok ok...your right....
the food was good and the server was delightful. We all got Sci Fi drivers liscense and then were on our way to the big metal seating arena from hell known as "Fantasmic"
and you ain't seen nothin yet...it gets better....stay tuned.
