Best way to get to Newark NJ

We'll be flying out of newark NJ to Florida for the first time in a few weeks. We are returning to LaGuardia so i won't be parking. Our flights are at 6:30pm. Any suggestions on how to get to newark? I was thinking we could do the train/cab?? How good a job do they do getting you through airport security and all.

Haven't used the train personally, but it does stop at the airport, so it is an option depending on where you are coming from.

We have taken cabs a few times (more to Philly, but once or twice to Newark). They drop you off at the drop off area of the terminal - through the doors and your ready to go.

Thanks Amy. I found the info for the newark airtrain. $12 per person out of penn station NYC, 30 minutes. I wonder how that compares with a cab?

Newark = traffic, so the train would most likely be cheaper. If you get lucky and there is no traffic a cab might be more cost effective. I'd use the train and not give it another thought.

cab from nyc will be 60ish.i would get to penn ny and you can catch a train to the newark airport stop. from there its a short monrail ride away.

I live in the city (nyc) and the easiest way for me is the train out of Penn Station. I get nervous with traffic. Just make sure when you purchase the ticket that you are looking for trains that stop at the airport.
