We are staying at SSR for the first time in Dec and 1 member in the party will be using a ecv. What would be the best places to stay inside of SSR, concerning the buses and distance to things. Also, are there elevators inside the buildings? TIA

You might also ask this question on the disABILITIES forum here at the DIS, if you haven't found it already.

DW uses an ECV due to a very bad knee. There are elevators in all of the buildings. We have no problems getting around anywhere. I would suggest try and get Grandstand 1st bus stop. Carousel is second bus stop. Carousel does not have a quiet pool or laundry room. Reading the boards here it seems to be the same as being in outer Siberia. The more crowded the busses the more it is a hassle to load the ECV on the busses. Congress Park and Paddock seem the furtherest from Carriage House and Carousel is also a fair amount away from Congress Park. We have found to try and relax when dealing with the ECV helps.

actually, we just got back from staying in the Paddock with two on ECV's and had no problems with that location. It is a short "stroll" to the main buildings (across a wooden bridge and lake) --almost a straight shot. We were right next to the pool and bus stop. We never had a problem getting two of us in ECV's on the bus at this bus stop. The only issue was our last night coming back from Epcot--there was another lady on an ECV waiting ahead of us and we had to wait for the next SSR bus--which came in about 5 minutes!

Our first two nights we were in the Grandstand and that seemed to be almost as far as Paddocks and more circuitous. If you are in the first building it might be closer--if you are in the furtherest Grandstand building there isn't much of a difference.
