I need to get my proofs from my wedding printed and would like to know which of the online company have the best looking prints? Who would you recommend? Who wouldn't you recommend?
So far, I'm looking at:
Kodak Gallery
Shutterfly
Snapfish

and I'm open to any suggestions....Thanks!

you'd do beter for this on the photography board but I say to print at Mpix.com

I've never had a problem with Shutterfly.

But I've had many problems with Snapfish. :badpc: (though I only used the twice and both times it was not fun or pretty)

I was going to say that I love Snapfish. We have used them many times with a great experience. I love that I can order the prints with a matte finish. What kind of problems have you had?

dotphoto.com is great. I've also used photoworks.com and they were good. I used snapfish and was not impressed. I will not use them again.

I use Kodak Gallery.
Never any problems.

Shutterfly is my favorite! I have tried a few others out, and find that Shutterfly has the best colors on the pictures. They are also very quick to send them out in the mail. I love their service. They run lots of specials too, so make sure you check that out! :thumbsup2

My husband is a professional photographer and I'm an avid scrapbooker, so we've tried almost all of them. Far and away, the BEST quality we've ever seen is from www.scrapbookpictures.com Shipping is always $2, prints are carefully packaged, and turnaround is FAST. Each print is hand-checked for color and quality, and we've never been disappointed.

You can get all kinds of effects (b&w, sepia, borders -- some really exquisite ones), and their metallic prints are incredible!

I recently ordered some photos from Shutterfly just because I needed copies of older prints and I only had the files uploaded there, and I was soooo disappointed in the colors (again!). Scrapbook Pictures has spoiled me. ;)

Wow! I never heard of scrapbookpictures.com. I signed up on their website and will try them out next time I have some digital pictures to develop! Thanks for posting this one! :)

There's also winkflash.com. Costco, WalMart, and Walgreens offer online ordering and store pick up.

I'm going to check out scrapbookpictures.com, too. Thanks!

Glad to do it!! :)

I'd been reading about them for a long time on a scrapbooking board and when I finally tried them, I could've kicked myself for not using them sooner!! :sunny:

ETA: Don't know if you noticed, but you can also mail film in and have it developed -- you're not limited to just digital! :thumbsup2

Another vote for scrapbookpictures! They are awesome--I particularly love their metallic paper for any photos with water, floral phots & I used it for my Disney Collage from this year's trip. & very fast--even though they are on the other side of the country from me. I ordered late one Sunday night & had my pictures by Wednesday morning.

I've tried just about everyone (for the free prints ;) ), & the only one I haven't been impressed with is photoworks. The paper was much thinner than others. I always get matte finish (unless I get the metallic from scrapbook pictures).

Dotphoto was particularly good, & I prefer shutterlfy over snapfish. York & Clark were both fine.

You might want to check on the free prints just to try some & you can also get rewards through some sites for signing up (like SR, CR, MyPoints, QR).

I like winkflash - their photos are good and they are quick and you can't beat $0.99 shipping (It's always that regardless how many you print) However I tried the creative memories photocenter and liked it - they were just pricey. But I have found out now that they are $0.12 a print if you buy 500 at a time. (I have that many so it's a possibility for me). I will definitely try out scrapbookpictures.com though. Does anyone know if they offer any coupons for first-time orders?

I checked the photography boards about a year ago because I had been using sony's website: imagestation and then starting hearing about the deals that all the others were having. Someone on that board ordered prints (the same prints) from like 6-8 different websites (some of those you listed) and at that time said that Imagestation had the best quality of prints. I am still using them and they offer free shipping quite often. I haven't tried the scrapbooking site but I'm tempted to now.

So far we have been very pleased with imagestation.

Are you talking about professional proofs??? If so, I agree with the poster who mentioned MPIX. The quality of the paper and printing is far superior to any of the others you mentioned. The only one I haven't tried out of the above is the scrapbooking one.

My vote for wedding pictures....Mpix.com

ETA: Mpix will be a lot more $$ than the others...but they are your wedding pictures, it will look as though a professional photographer printed them for you. Even down to the way they arrive......

I'm not sure if scrapbookpictures has a coupon or not. I did my first order & sign up through a scrapbook website & it seems like they had a promotion then (over a year ago) for free shipping & reduced price 4x6 prints. Not sure what happens on your first order now. PM me if you want the scrapbook site.

Me too! I was getting ready to send some pictures to Wal-Mart, but I'll give these folks a try. Thanks!

Can you tell me what the Metallic Prints look like? I have been looking on their site and do not see any examples.

I like using target. You can upload through yahoo pictures, and then pick them up at target, and pay there (no credit card needed).

I've been very happy with Walgreens, upload them, and pick them up an hour later - no shipping that way. Walgreen's is very convenient for me. I also tried CVS, but was happier with the colors from Walgreen.
