DD and I are headed down for a few days in May to SSR. Any recommendations for disposable masks? Thanks!

I just buy the paper ones off Amazon. I look for good reviews and a lower cost per mask. I've also gotten a box from Costco. I don't care for their fit as much.
My preference is the KN94 masks (again Amazon) however, they are a bit more expensive and heavier so they might be too hot for Disney. I think they fit better and are more comfy (to me).

The blue 2-pack disposable one my DH buys me at Walmart.....been using them for (sadly) a year almost but they do the job.........protecting me and my fellow people around me and I can breathe pretty good with them and I only have 20 some percent lung! 👍

Thank you both!!!! Let's hope we all won't have to endure this much too longer.

Kitty34, do you happen to know which brand? Thanks!

I have tried quite a number of different brands over the past year. I think I found my favorite with this brand, PIXI, on Amazon. Price winds up to be 20 cents per mask.

Amazon face mask

Adding....what I like most about them is that the bendable nose clip is easy to bend and stay in the form that I have bent it. It fits very snuggly and comfortably all around, including the top of the nose.

Heypex Global.....standard size.

They're like 80 cents for two.

::yes:: According to the U.S. 3M company, maker of the N95 medical masks, also NIOSH, the Federal government regulatory agency over safety & hazardous materials, & the CDC, the KN95 mask is the N95 equivalent.

I get mine from this eBay seller who has a super high feedback rating and advertise that their KN95 masks are 5 layers. (Be careful of cheap knock-offs.) I've cut several open, so they are indeed 5 layers. :thumbsup2 The ear straps are just a bit loose on me, so I tie a tiny knot in each one. But, that's perfect, as then the masks are adjustable. They also have a stitched in, bendable nose clip, so it won't fall off.

From this seller, they come sold in 10 packs, 20 packs and 50 packs. They are individually sealed in plastic bags, two to a bag, which can easily fit in your jeans back pocket. So you can easily swap one out for a clean new one if you feel it getting sweaty. Or you want a new one after eating.

I wore them last summer when it was so hot & humid outside. While they were a little thick, the fact that they were 5 layers actually helped absorb the little bit of sweat that collected at the bridge of my nose & top of my cheeks. :thumbsup2

These sound just like what I ordered from Amazon. I did check to see that they had 5 layers. I ordered 50 and I got 5 boxes of 10. Each one was individually wrapped which was nice for throwing in my purse or a backpack.

I've been going with the 3-layer, blue non-surgical masks provided by my workplace since the beginning. They do the job of protection just fine and regardless of the brand, the fit and feel is very consistent. The look isn't stylish but I just cannot bring myself to see a mask as a fashion accessory and when you wear this type, nobody questions whether or not it's "allowable". I've gone through two or three some days this winter as being outside in extreme cold makes them damp with frozen condensation. I'd imagine it might be the same in high heat/humidity.

I've been getting KN95 from a medical supply place with a real life us office with real humans with reviews going back years.

Not a guarantee of quality but since it's medical supply and real humans within the US I lean towards thinking there is some quality control and they have long term trusted vendors so getting counterfeit seems less likely than some person from who knows where. If you can find a brick and mortar I'd say try that, you can tell when you go poking around the "about us" pages, look at reviews and call the facility.

The biggest thing is going to be individual fit. Almost all the disposable medical style ones are going to be melt blown polypropylene, although the individual stiffness of the material might differ. I've also found some to be really small.

We've gotten several kid sized ones for our (now) 10 year old. An adult sized one works in a pinch, but the kiddie ones are really much better fitting for a smaller head.
