Okay guys, who all would go crazy for the "Hot for Teacher" video by Van Halen? I always remember watching that video and thinking, "please god, let that be my next teacher!"

You should see some of the teachers I work with. I would have neven have be able stand up and write on the chalk board.

Okay, DW Lauri and I tag teamed that 80's music quiz together and got a whopping score of...

166.575 !!

Of course I owe ten points to Lauri for knowing Colitas. :rotfl: Hey, they said she was a god!

well i took the quiz and i bombed it, but i really wasnt paying too much attention to it too i had dh questioning me on remodeling the place.

I got 151. What is the total possible? Seriously want to know my percentage.

I thought these comments were funny. OK, I like the last one because it called me a God. :)

How long, how long must I sing this song .
Yep. Bono at his most self righteous.

Wet bus stop , she's waiting, his car is warm and dry.
Sting.. the guy who sings about stalkers AND pedophiles

Warm smell of colitas Rising up through the air
Ok either 1)You've read The Straight Dope or 2)You are a god. Either way 10 points.

What about Bizarre Love Triangle - New Order, or Situation - Yaz? :cool1:
New Order. That song makes me want to watch "Some Kind of Wonderful".

Is no body going to mention Prince?

Oh, the list would be endless.
I was addicted to MTV throughout the 80's.

I was addicted to. The sad thing is I can't stand MTV now. It's not about the music anymore and its to crude and nasty. I'm upset that when they had the 25th Aniversary (I believe) they did nothing to celebrate it because they claimed no one would be interested in it. Also it could be because when the Monkees came back in the 1980's and helped launch it they did something that got the group banned from MTV.

Okay here is my top 10. It was really hard and on some of them I cant' remember the artist:

1. St. Elmo's Fire (Man In Motion) by John Parr
2. Never Say Goodbye by Bon Jovi <1995 Senior Class Song>
3. When I See You Smile by Bad English
4. We Are The World by USA For Africa
5. Mickey by Toni Basil
6. Addicted To Love by Robert Palmer
7. Summer of '69 by Bryan Adams
8. Let's Dance by David Bowie
9. Electric Youth by Debbie Gibson
10. Dancing In The Street by David Bowie and Mick Jagger

Oh, man, I think the clock is slow.
I don't feel tardy.
There was a rumor around my town that one of the kids in the video was a local ne'er do well, but I don't know that it was ever proven. Its not like they rolled credits at the end of the video.

Here's a couple more:

I just saw him on my birthday back in July, with Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band. I didn't even recognize him! Now, which one was the video with every single rock cliche in it (the rolling about in bed, bad dancing, the ripping of the shirt)...was that Rock Me Tonight?

You and I in a little toy shop
Buy a bag of balloons with the money we've got.
Set them free at the break of dawn
'Til one by one, they were gone.
Back at base, bugs in the software
Flash the message, Something's out there.
Floating in the summer sky.
99 red balloons go by.

Classic 80's song. All of my friends had a crush on her until she lifted her arms. Dam hairy.

...didn't want noone to hold ya - What does that mean?!... I *LOVED* that song! I think it was out around the time, "Don't Pay the Ferryman" and "Goody Two Shoes" were. Those were the days.

Although I'm not as fond of "The Stroke" as I once was, "Everybody Wants You," still kicks butt. :)

How about "The Killing Moon" by Echo & the Bunnymen or "What Difference Does It Make", "William, It Was Really Nothing", "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now", and "Panic" by The Smiths...really any songs with lyrics by Moz!!

I like The Killing Moon, too. Not one of my faves, but definitely a good song.

I like a lot of Morrissey's song titles...Vicar in a Tutu is a classic! Hairdresser on Fire...Girlfriend in a Coma...just awesome.

New Kids On The Block were "my" group, anything that they sang was IT for me. I am still a high New Edition fanas well. I also liked Madonna's early stuff, and Wham!

Here is my list of 80's tunes:

The Mission UK - Wasteland
Gebe Loves Jezebel - Desire

Cocteau Twins - Love's Easy Tears
Killing Joke - Eighties
Love & Rockets - So Alive

Oh wow...those were 3 of my favorite '80s songs and I completely forgot about them! Thanks!! I remember having the lyrics to Perfect Way from some magazine (whichever one had a lot of pinups in it that featured song lyrics along with pictures of the bands who sang those songs) up on my bedroom wall, interspersed among the dozens of Duran Duran posters. Mmm, Roger Taylor... :lovestruc
