Well, blood test was inconclusive, but it looks llike they didn't do the one prescribed by Mayo. That means no treatment yet, still a waiting game, and I am VERY weak today. Couldn't even hold my foot on the brake when I went for my echo cardiogram.

Do you want me to bring a saxophone, flute, or clarinet? I prefer flute, since it isn't so hard to hold right now. Of course, I probably couldn't blow a note with this lack of breath, but I could be an "instrument holder"!

Diane, sorry that the blood test was inconclusive. I am also sorry that you are feeling very weak today. Try to rest if you can.

Diane bring the flute... as a former flute player I am allowed to say this... you can't hear the flute players anyway so we won't notice if you really don't make music with it or not

We usually only marched piccolos and put tenor drums in the hands of the other flute players. I played Saxophone in marching band (that was my major instrument), so I had plenty to play, be heard, and to carry! All through High school, I played Tenor sax...VERY big and heavy! In college marcing band I switche to alto! Now I play flute for most everything. I think I see a lazy pattern forming!

I wish I'd thought of calling in the angels. Maybe next year, although if we wore the uniforms I don't think anyone could march! Maybe that is my secret weapon?

Carol, I'll come for moral support, but you've already heard that I'll be no help. I found out Amy took photos of us trying to march. She and her brother think it was SOOO funny! You would have been lucky if you'd been here last night. The drum majors parents just had to take turns counting and calling out what we were doing next. He had a visible job, but he didn't have to march. He did a great job, by the way.

Diane, are they going to do that other test before your trip? I'm so sorry that a diagnosis is taking so long. Hope they pinpoint it soon so you can begin to get some treatment. We want you in remission ASAP!

I never thought of Lars as being Swedish, but I'll always think of that from now on! LOL! I never thought of elk until I was told that people thought that. Power of suggestion, I guess.

No, it isn't planned. I did have an echocardiogram today, but those results wont be in for a week, and I have another CT tomorrow, but that will be awhile too.

I asked DD if the "special activity" was parents marching and she said yes. DH has to work so I guess I can chose between being Drum Major or a trumpet player. Which do you think I should chose?

I have to make sign-up sheets for chaperones for the football games and have great difficulty making them on the computer.

Diane, you must be exhausted from the tests alone.

Merry - You did make me giggle with your story! I have to say, I wouldn't have even gone out there so good on you for doing so!!

I had my first guitar lesson this week WooHoo! I really enjoyed it Learnt 6 chords in total which help me play the first half of one of Catatonia's songs so of course I'm happy I've had my guitar since the end of 1999 and never had lessons and in fact, I'm ashamed to say, it's been in it's case for the past three years, perhaps coming out once, twice at the most to stare at wistfully and wish I could play! Now I'm finally doing something about it!

For anyone still wondering about that job I really really want, well today I had resigned myself to the fact that I hadn't been sucessful to interview (as they were due to be held a week today and the job itself closed last Monday)... so I was feeling v disappointed and then an email showed up from them!! They aren't interviewing next week now, it is being held up while they make 'important structural changes to the post' and I am still being considered - Yay!!! Keep your fingers crossed please

Hi all... not feeling so well here today. Not sure what is wrong but it is either a cold or a sinus infection. I really am hoping for the latter.

Diane, we marched only 2 pics and the rest were flutes. We had about 100-150 a year in marching band so we couldn't take the 20-30 flute players and put them elsewhere since those sections were also as big. Of course I could say the joke now "How do you keep two piccolos in tune?" You shoot one I am full of bad band stories. I admit I did flute only one year for marching band. I switched to brass because there were so many flute players. I then did the field commander the last two years

I miss Marsha too, Steph!!

Merry, I love the idea of the uniform for next year!!!
